I just bought a runaway. Have to pick it up next week. Have tent camped over 30 years ago. This (and your other) videos are so helpful & appreciated !! Thank you!
Using puppy pads for getting out of the shower is an absolute GENIUS idea! I'm going to start using those in gym showers as well. Thanks for all the extra tips!
Our first trip to Henry Cowell State Park in Ca. we camped the same weekend as a home schooling group. Talk about NOISE!!! We enjoy the sound of kids playing but once they left, the silence truly is golden. Camping is a bit and miss event, it not just children making noise, adults can be worse. Never the less, go camping!!!
I enjoyed your video...when you started packing up I had to do a rewind. I could have sworn that you packed your dog up in one of those totes! I hope to get a Runaway in a year or two so I really appreciate the chance to learn more about camping out small camper style. I haven't camped in years but I'm itching to get out on the road and see something besides the inside of my apartment for a change. Safe travels and keep making the videos!
That’s funny! You could never stuff him in a tote he is such a free spirt he would never stand for that. We hope you can join the Runaway group sometime soon. Thanks for watching us
Thank you so much for this video, new runaway owners and realized we don't know half of what we thought we did LOL. This gave us so many ideas to make it easier, and thank you for showing the electric hook we've been going a little crazy trying to figure that out. Wonderfully helpful video!
This was great !! I am far from a beginner camper but still got some awesome ideas. My favorite was the puppy pad idea !!!!!! I have one place I like to camp but the shower is ishy. It's a fairgrounds. I use shower shoes but it's hard to get dried and dressed. I sure don't want to put a towel on the floor. Puppy pad would be PERFECT !!!
Love your canopy setup, it looks so cozy in there. Watching your video and seeing the space you have on the side of your bed looks so nice. if anybody is looking to get a runaway camper I would definitely suggest a wide one like theirs. We have a small 4x8 teardrop and there's no room on the sides to store things and to get out of bed. Great video, it felt like 2 minutes long and I looked at the time stamp and it was almost a 10-minute video!
We really like the canopy when we are set up for a few days. The sides make it possible to be comfortable in real cold weather. When searching tiny campers we decided early on we wanted to be able to swing our feet off the bed and put our shoes on. The 6 foot wide Rangerunner allows us to do that. We love your channel and always look forward to 👽😲
@@Hanginwithherky We were impressed with the alien smile! So we have seen in your videos the suction cup mounts you use. But when we go out to box stores we haven't' seen them. Where do you pick up your suction cups?
I'm a camping wanna be, these basic things help me. I don't know anything about electric hook ups, or pulling a trailer or setting one up once I get where I'm going. This year I'm starting by making a sleeping platform in my SUV and just getting out there. I'm looking at both Runaway and Hiker trailers- but that's still just a dream.
Robyn Brown I would recommend joining the runaway camper fan club on Face Book there are lots of people willing to help you get started. Thanks for watching our videos
We had a into for our videos but after some time just decided to get right to what we wanted to say. These days we have no intro. We are never going to be big time it’s just a hobby and a way to preserve our memories. Thanks for following along with us.
I just watched this for the second time since I just ordered my CoolCamp to travel alone in. I learned a lot that's going to help me get started. I've been dreaming about this for years now, collecting things for camping, and am excited to finally be close to realizing my dream. I found what looks like your canopy online. It's called ABC Canopy. It seems to have good reviews. Thanks for the tips and I hope to meet y'all out on the road someday!
@@dolores2716 It has been quite a learning experience...some hard times and a whole lot of fun. It's all worth it though. Thanks for the tips. Was wondering about what type heater you guys used to stay warm as you camp when it's cold. Enjoy kids but sometimes those little ones are to curious and won't go away : )! So away from their play area is great advice.
Thank you I really have benefited from you sharing the way you guys set up your range runner it has saved me alot of struggle of making ours right for us.
I love the state parks in MN. I also use the family restrooms...as a single woman who camps with a dog, I can bring him with me when I need to shower (I know its against the rules, but I'm not supposed to leave him unattended at the campsite so I figure this is the lesser of two evils).
We hope to get to MN one day. No judgment from us on the dog in the restroom. It’s a good safety measure. Even though our dog is small he is keen to his surroundings. When we boondock on parking lots he looks out the window all night making sure we are safe. Thanks for following along with us.

By the way, what brand and size of Awning do you have? Thank you.
My personal opinion is buy one you can place a hanging tent in. We don’t always use ours but in rain it’s a real help. That is why we chose the ARB but for years we just used the Proshade ezup. We just had grown tired of carrying it. But if you get a good one with sides it’s really nice to have.
We are not sure of the fire pit brand as it came from Lowe’s. I would say the big draw back is the space it takes up. The fact it is clean burning and simple use will make up for that. Thanks for watching-urban channel

We use the zip lock brand totes because they have a gasket and don’t leak. We choose to use totes because we have them pre packed for the style of use. Road tripping is different than camping and driveway surfing when visiting friends and relatives is different. We have a setup for each. Our car is a 4 cylinder and we have no issues we get about 18 to 19 mpg. Our friend pulls with a mini van and gets about 22. I think it tucks in behind the van better.
