Please let me clarify. I DID NOT get rid of my own dogs, but found homes for beach dogs in my care. My own flew back to the USA from Thailand with me and lived out their days in my Class C. I believe in rescuing and To Death Do Us Part with dogs. We literally went to the ends of the Earth together. - Nola
My son in law is Inian but grew up in Thailand. He basically stated that in the neighborhood there are like guard dogs that basically protect a neighborhood, and although they're street dog and cats people do feed them and stray cats too. He said he would snak them in at night and his mom would chase them out of the house lol. He and our daughter have 2 rescue kitties
Nola was kind enough to invite me to camp with her and her friends in January. She is a lovely, very positive lady and I'm glad to see her on the channel.
Thank you Bob! This was so much fun and I will never forget your kind words. Also, thank you to KC for also posting links to my 2 new Boondocking books in the links above. Much appreciated! - Nola
Loved this- I have a 1794 got some cool ideas...I think I'd make my sleeping area in the back seat. The old Tundra [2008] used to fold down and we'd camp in the back seat, but then when we went to Quartzite, I got the back tent that hooked onto the back of the truck..wow there was so much room so we slept in the bed of the truck and we cooked on the tailgate....just awesome!
@@carlandersonlll6861 Yep, as I mentioned it was an old snot plow - lots of rust, but all I could afford at the time. The video was made several months ago. I am in a different rig now. Not much grander, but I'm working on it. Cheers! - Nola
So true! I wish I could have hired me back when I needed real pro pet sitters. Haha. I had some terrible ones. Funny stories not, but not so much when it happened. - Nola
She has to be the real deal, not just for a video. The animal sitting, animals especially dogs can read a human character. Her job tells how wonderful of a person she really is. Positivity is always nice to see and hear, she is very positive - 🌹
This is the kind of set up I would consider. No frills but smart, with ample space. Bean bags and sarongs are a great takeaway! Thank you Bob and Nola 🙏
This was a great video! I just ordered the Ultimate Boondockers Dispersed Camping Logbook. Looking forward to using it when I retire in June 2025! Thank you Nola! 😀
Nola is so inspirational! The logbooks look like they have a place for ALL the important things 💞 the truck set up is perfect in its simplicity! Last but not least her encouragement is gold! Wishing all good for Nola & Bob! Thank you!
My mode of travel/camping is my Chevy Silverado with cap. I added a "Breezer window " to allow access to front drivers seat from inside cap. I also use the EZ topper lift for 3 feet of extra headroom along with Decked system for garage and kitchen. Back seat area of truck has E bike and Paddleboard. Nice way to camp. Also Moonshade is a great awning
Great interview, great advice! I need the continual reminder that the time to start and go full time is now, not when things are "just right" or "perfect". I like the simplicity of this setup!
Nola has and is still doing it all in life👏! Shows to go that if a person is curious enough about wanting a change, it is to do your planning and just do it! What she said about finding the wings as you go is on point. And with all her skill sets from writing to self-publishing to expert pet-sitting, she can certainly write her own script in life as far as what she can control. I think she is so inspiring, and her books can be a great resource for people already living nomad and for all those who really wish they could. Maybe seeing this video, and AFTER reading her books, some of those wishes can finally become a reality.
@Grevlain Thank you! As far as I have seen that is the first hard cover version to sell. Judging by my own pet sitting book paperback, hardcovers are much better for our lifestyle 😁. I hope you enjoy it. All the best, - Nola
Great interview, Nola! I'm so glad you got this boost from Bob's channel! I believe you've thought of everything that one would need in such a logbook/journal. Fantastic work!
Thank you both for taking the time to make this video! The dog sitting log book is a fantastic idea and not limited to dog sitting as it can be used for most situations!
Wow, Nola is such a smart, thrifty, amazing lady! Thank you Nola for sharing your life! Thanks Bob for the interview.I am going to order some of her books on Amazon now!
Seems like a lovely lady…I like her personality. Very impressive that when she had bumps in the road during life…she just thought of solutions and got busy on them.
Fabulous video, full of detail and perfectly delivered ✅ Nola is a legend and this video allows us to further appreciate her. I am so happy for you Nola ❤❤❤
Bob Watched nomadland with the Francis McDermott, and cameos by you. I’m a state employee in Pa and dedicated to this lifestyle in 14 years.. planning and ready when this time comes. I saw you lost your son and I have an 8 year old son and 4 year old daughter. I want to say I love you as the human being you are and my brother in life, I want you to know that if ever you need an ear to bend, or a shoulder to cry on I’m here for you because I can’t imagine the pain you feel. If you’re ever in Pennsylvania please reach out.
Such an incredible lifestyle! It’s inspiring to see how you make it work and how little you need to live a fulfilling, nomadic life. Thanks for sharing her journey ☺
Wonderful video Bob. You're always spot on. I really enjoy your videos. May the good Lord watch over you and your family and friends. Peace and Love 😊.
Resourceful and talented lady! Thank you Bob and thank you Nola for sharing your rig and your wonderful books! I also ascribe to 'To Death Do Us Part' with dogs. Thank you for doing that for your dogs!
Can't wait to get on the road. My mom is 98 so I can't go yet but if I outlive her that's my dream to travel through ever state taking my time and enjoying myself ❤
Her books look awesome!!! I love it...will probably order both....sometimes we keep too much on our i phones and lap tops...this is handy!! Id kinda like one for meeting aquantances just daily!!!
A lot of people don’t realize it, but when you sleep on a memory foam mattress, moisture builds up from the top down to the bottom. The mattress acts as a wick, and if you stick your hand under the bottom your mattress, after laying there for a night, you will feel moisture down there. With that being said, if you keep your mattress on that piece of plywood, it might start to grow things underneath😂
Looks like some really cool & helpful books. She is inspiring, thanks! I've been pet & housesitting since I was a teen. I can relate to getting attached to the animals. I don't have her super cool zoologist training, but I've cared for birds, snakes, horses, sheep, goats, chickens, and, of course, dogs & cats. I'm certified in permaculture design, so I have excellent cred for greenhouses & gardens too. Maybe I'll get on rover.
Some people have a tough time and they fall apart, an excuse to turn to alcohol, to drugs. Some people get out a board and surf that fucking wave. Lots of love and praise to this lovely woman
well she did say she has got another rig i noticed the the bed sits lower than the rest of the body a bit odd but not nessesarily indicative of all the speculation , that a frame issue or rust is cause
Inspirational story with a simple rig. Nice! I’m certain it was you that had a table at the RTR 2024. Great information! Safe journey! Make great memories!
The logbook is $12.99 on Amazon but I still think that's an excellent price. I have been looking at Adventure log books which, for a nice one are around $25 plus. Thank you Bob and Nola!!
Tell me about it. I researched and wrote every word list used in my activity books Yet. as I age, even I can go back and challenge my own memory with them. 🤣🤣🤣 Viva getting older! - Nola
Nola I think your boondockers log book looks great. I’m sort of a cat rescue and there was a time when I kept-t track of my accomplishments (spay and neuter 130 cats in 4 years in my village, rehomed 75 or so cats to barns and kittens). But these are all guesses because I stopped keeping track. There are other things to keep track of too, like low cost programs, vets, medicines, etc because I also feed 30 strays. Gosh I wish I had an organized log book like the boondocks book. Maybe I can help you design one? Or maybe one is out there and I should google it? Anyway safe travels ❤️😻
@cynthiataylor644 75 rehomed on your own is amazing. Well done! I have participated in TNR projects and have friends in both Thailand and the States that run them regularly. Both are such inspiring women. I can see the need for a well done TNR/Rescue record keeping system to be sure. I wish there were enough hours in the day to everything for all for animals in need. Unfortunately I am just barely getting buy right now, so spending a month + on a book that has a limited audience is not a practical use of my time if I want to survive. Please keep up the good work on behalf of cats and all animals. Much appreciated. - Nola
Nice lady and she is busy too! WOW!!!! I like her set up too. I agree I would absolutely need a pass through door in case of an emergency. But her truck looks well organized. Great job she has done. Thank you Bob ……… nice video……
Great video. Great lady. Great outlook. After watching the video I bought the pet sitting journal off Amazon for my wife who does Rover pet sitting. Perfect Christmas gift for her. Thank you Nola and Bob.
That log book is an awesome price. Something like that in a book store printed by a publishing house would be double, triple or even more. Kudos for the effort and your success I pray for. And cheers from Chiang Mai, Thailand, my home of 18+ years :)
Nola - you should start a TH-cam channel. You have so many different talents and interests to share along with many travels and lifestyles -perfect for YT!

Ingenious idea for pet sitting. Being an animal lover I could see how this could help make ends meet. That's a "dog-gone" great idea.
I truly enjoyed this video and am so impressed with you resourcefulness and attitude toward life. Wishing you all the best.
You are a cool inspirational person. ty
You absolutely ROCK Nola‼️A true inspiration ‼️🥰✌🏻🦮
This woman is a professional nomad. The journal is a work of art.
Nola was kind enough to invite me to camp with her and her friends in January. She is a lovely, very positive lady and I'm glad to see her on the channel.

Your books are a great resource, so thoughtfully designed! I hope this gives you a boost and helps get you closer to a van. Happy trails!
What is wrong with your truck? The bed lines doesn't match with the cab lines. The front of the bed is tilting down.
I'm in LOVE
@@carlandersonlll6861 Yep, as I mentioned it was an old snot plow - lots of rust, but all I could afford at the time. The video was made several months ago. I am in a different rig now. Not much grander, but I'm working on it. Cheers! - Nola
She is amazing beautiful spirit
Pet sitters are life savers. Good for her.
So true! I wish I could have hired me back when I needed real pro pet sitters. Haha. I had some terrible ones. Funny stories not, but not so much when it happened. - Nola
Get cats. They wTch themselves
I took a month off of work and spent all that time in my truck topper. I loved it!
Such a resourceful and ambitious woman! A true inspiration!
Two of the smartest things she did, a 10 inch memory foam bed and a bean bag chair.❤
She has such a positive attitude. Inspirational.
I met Nola in January at the RTR. A real awesome, down to earth women.
@getlostmike Hi Mike, nice to hear from you again. Happy travels. - Nola
I purchased the hard copy version of your book and was very impressed.
Okay, she is just so cool! Bob you sure know how to find the most interesting people!
She would be an excellent RTR guest speaker and trainer!
Yes!!!
Thank you, anytime! - Nola
So calm and inspirational. She's given a lemon and makes lemonade. ❤
She had a beach house. Not what id call a lemon. In thailand when income stopped you can teach English
This was a great video! I just ordered the Ultimate Boondockers Dispersed Camping Logbook. Looking forward to using it when I retire in June 2025! Thank you Nola! 😀
Soooo coool ! She has a lot of wisdom to offer, I wish her well for the sale of her books, THANKS for sharing.
Nola is so inspirational! The logbooks look like they have a place for ALL the important things 💞 the truck set up is perfect in its simplicity! Last but not least her encouragement is gold! Wishing all good for Nola & Bob! Thank you!
Lovely, intelligent, kind lady. Thank you for your service.❤
Great viideo. Thank you Nola and Bob. Just ordered your logbook and journal. Happy and safe travels. Hope to meet again.❤😂😊
Such a lovely , calm, confident, wise , well spoken lady
What a cool lady. Thank you, Mr. Bob.
OMG I need the boondocking book. I can't tell you how many places I've gone and forgotten the great dispersed campsites! Thank you!
I put your Boondocking books on my list. Tyvm.
I appreciate the support! - Nola
What great inspiring lady. Great positive attitude, determination and inventiveness. Creating her own success!
Such an interesting individual! I’m definitely ordering her book!
Breezier window - would you share a picture?
Love that idea!
Our F250 comes with a central slide window which connects the front with the back. Perhaps her F250 does not have that.
Great interview, great advice! I need the continual reminder that the time to start and go full time is now, not when things are "just right" or "perfect". I like the simplicity of this setup!

Excellent vid and a very wise woman. I just ordered the hardback boondockers logbook. Thanks so much! And I'm glad to help support ya!

Great interview, Nola!
I'm so glad you got this boost from Bob's channel!
I believe you've thought of everything that one would need in such a logbook/journal. Fantastic work!
What a great and simple setup! The book looks like a must have for all Nomads!
Love the painted sunflowers!
Thank You Bob and Nola. Great video and tour of the truck camper. Stay Safe keep posting and I'll keep watching 🙏👍🐕🦺
Blessings from homeless in Indiana
Very inspiring, you can feel her happiness. I'm going to order several of her books and I hope to see my future self out and about
Thank you both for taking the time to make this video! The dog sitting log book is a fantastic idea and not limited to dog sitting as it can be used for most situations!
One of your best interviews and tours. Bob. Excellent information, and Nora is lovely!
Wow, Nola is such a smart, thrifty, amazing lady! Thank you Nola for sharing your life! Thanks Bob for the interview.I am going to order some of her books on Amazon now!

Great book! I've tried making notes in a million different notebooks and papers, can't keep them straight. Gotta get this
Me too! - Nola😂
What a great episode, love her doors/shower how convenient. The 2*4's and the cab size is smart, I might not have thought of that. Stay Safe ❤️😂
Great video. I just looked at the journal on Amazon and added it to my Christmas wish list! 😊
Buying your book, Nola! I look forward to meeting you at the RTR! Thank you, Bob!

Hi Nola, just met you today during the women’s virtual caravan!!! Great video great rig? Beautiful home.!
Thank you Staci! - Nola
Wow - that's amazing! The bean bag and tips are a good idea to think about. Thank you.

Hello from Puerto Rico Bob and friends
Puerto Rico is not a garbage Island! Love it there so much!
Is there boondocking in Puerto Rico or is that not allowed or not safe.
I just looked at her book website and am seriously thinking of getting some of these for holiday gifts! Great interview with great ideas.
@turquoisewitch.wild-owl Thank you! - Nola

Good for her!! Love the set up!!
I can hardly wait to get your books!
The pet sitter book would be an excellent gift for my petsitter!
Some people have a tough time and they fall apart, an excuse to turn to alcohol, to drugs. Some people get out a board and surf that fucking wave. Lots of love and praise to this lovely woman
" Some people get out a board and surf that fucking wave." Hilarious - Loving this! - Nola
I laughed too
Judging by the body lines between the cab and the bed, there’s more serious rust issues with that truck than the rusty lower cab corners.
yep, need to take a close look under that area.
Thanks for your concern. i was already aware. This was just the best I could do at the time. I am now in a different rig. - Nola
This channel seems to attract some caring people!
Frame issues I was thinking 🤔
well she did say she has got another rig i noticed the the bed sits lower than the rest of the body a bit odd but not nessesarily indicative of all the speculation , that a frame issue or rust is cause

Awesome video. She is very talented .
Thank you Bob.
Great show. So wonderful you are 🐾🐾💕 Rescue gal ... Thank YOU 🪷
Thank you for sharing this! ❤
Thank you ❤❤❤❤❤
She is one of those , that take the bull by the horns w/ whatever available ! No complaints, just a happy camper ! It's all in the mind .
Two trials tho. And we all have trials to overcome.

Great ideas. Thanks Bob and Nola :)
This was excellent!
Currently working on fitting out my truck, this has a lot of great ideas
Love the video. Very informative. Smart book at the end. Thank you!
smart lady, thanks for presenting her Bob
So cool! Great life, simple and balanced ❤
Great video! What an inspiring and interesting lady. ❤
I had this exact rig but the chevy version. I loved it.
Nice thank you for sharing
Check into getting a "breezer widow" add a boot around it to keep the elements out, and you can have access to the front. The glass is removable.
Nola I think your boondockers log book looks great. Check out the pet sitting book it might work for this. Each “project” I.e “July 2024 rehome barn kitties” is a “client” and you can list the meds etc

Just taking it all in living life
So simple

Kudos for the effort and your success I pray for.
And cheers from Chiang Mai, Thailand, my home of 18+ years :)
Thanks once more Bob for this informative video. She is a very interesting woman and has a good set up in her van.
Super and simple. Thanks!
Very helpful information! I especially liked the clever addition of the 2 x 4’s for extra height!!
Great video guys 💙💙💙
Nola - you should start a TH-cam channel. You have so many different talents and interests to share along with many travels and lifestyles -perfect for YT!
been on itchys channel since day one too . . seen every continent that way
