- Currently I live at home with my parents, and I want to move out so bad, but I don’t know where to move to! So me and my older sister, had a fun weekend getaway to Charleston, South Carolina to see if I could see myself living there. It was so so beautiful and definitely an amazing place to visit.

Honestly the store bought ones are so cute these days. And also my nails always hurt the next day after going to a salon.

I’m a big believer in doing all my “beauty” things myself. Nails, haircuts, brow trimming. I grant you, they’re never red carpet worthy, but I like doing it, it suits my simple lifestyle and it saves me money. I tried regularly going to a hairdresser and just ended up coming out disappointed, I know when to put the scissors down…and if I’m disappointed at least it was free! 😂

THANK YOU!! I completely agree, I got acrylics for the first time and they genuinely felt terrible. I had a bunch of tiny cuts and it was just so uncomfortable. I much much prefer to do my nails at home lol
I get mine done professionally every three weeks, for work mostly, but there are many things I hate about the process, like sitting there and holding hands with a stranger for two hours 😂 yours look Hella cute though. I hope they stay on.
I get it not everyone is comfortable with someone they just met touching all up on your hands lol 😂, which is why it’s good to find a nail tech that talks to you so it takes your mind off of that uncomfortable feeling. I for one always try to get my clients to watch a movie or just ask how their day is going as this always helps ease the tension a bit and makes the appointment not seem too long.
omggg girlie your nails shouldn’t have hurt afterward they were probably too rough when they were shaping them. when i get mine done they never hurt after. but press on nails are pretty cute and cheaper to do at home
I’ve gotten my nails done, and it definitely matters about who your nail tech is. The place I used to go changed owners and my favorite tech left, went to a new place for my mani pedi, my big toe ended up infected first week back to college

personally doing my own nails is very relaxing and fun, so i totally agree! not to mention i could spend the same amount to do my nails 10 times that it would be to get them done. I just paint them though, not press ons.

It’s never supposed to hurt u just went to a bad nail tech I think it’s always better to support a business that is owned by just one person u can make a much better connection. Salons are much cheaper but home nail techs usually are better at nails
The last time I might get my nails done, which is like four years ago, it ripped off my real nail so I just went to fake nails. They are so cute and so much better for your nails. This video is so true.

You're so right it's so uncomfortable I just can't sit in a chair for so long and then they're like don't turn out how they're supposed to but if you just buy them from the store it's easy and it's cheap and it's just funnier because you actually get to do it yourself and not worry about sitting in the chair for so long so yeah
i adore getting manicures. the entire experience. EXCEPT the damage your nails will have if you get regular gel or acrylic nails. used to love going regularly but it just gets too damaging. even press ons with their glue mess up my nails after a while 😭

Same, I used to go a lot for fun and I don’t find it fun now. I grew up doing my own nails and then went to the salon with friends later on and kept doing that and eventually got sick of it. Expensive, hurts and I have super long and healthy nails and it just hurt them. Why not do it myself when I want them done.

I've been doing my own nails for three years now. I've saved a lot of money. Last time I went they forgot about my appointment and proceeded to take other girls in front of me that had no appointment . Then they got annoyed when I reminded them I had an appointment. Then the tech kept complaining that my toe nails were long. I looked at hers and she barely had any toe nails lol. My nails weren't even that long. She was very rough on my feet and she could see that I was uncomfortable because of my face and I kept pulling back so she grabbed my feet even harder. After that I never want to go somewhere to get my nails done again.
Yeah I used to go to thins place to get mine done, and NOT a great experience. But, I recently found a new place that I like going to get them done. The people there are so nice, and it doesn’t hurt at all to get your nails done. Not even with the file. They do everything so gentle. And they are so nice. The nails always turn out better than expected as well. So, my point is, you just have to find the place that works for you. ❤😊🫶🏼

Same that's just coz they trim the cuticles but I guess that's what happens when u dont cut ur cuticles often enough?

Yeah I got my nails done today. I HATED IT. They didn’t do my whole nail. The day before I clipped my nails and when I got there they said “ don’t bite you nails, you’ll have ugly hand when you grow up” 🙄.
The best part is that it’s more affordable

The problem with getting your nails done is trying to find a good nail tech , because your right those nails didnt turn out to image but the filling will always feel a bit wierd since you are grinding og your nail. I hope this helps but if you still dont want to get your nails done at a salon i understand.
my anxiety in the nail salon is next to none stg. i get so stiff every time i would go - multiple techs across multiple shops in multiple states have aggressively shook my hands around like “relax your hands! RELAX YOUR HANDS”

As a nail tech I’d recommend going to an actual tech rather than a salon. Usually the tools and tables in a salon aren’t sterilized which is a real quick way to get an infection. Getting your nails done should always be a comfortable experience during and after, and usually nail salons are more focused on getting customers in and out rather than quality and comfort. I’m so sorry your experience went that way, but I hope maybe you’ll try again and enjoy it! ❤❤❤
Babe you have to find yourself a private tech. Getting my nails done was torture for me too it hurt, my nails weren’t that great, and it was expensive. Now I go to a private tech in a little shop you absolutely need an appointment for. My nails never hurt anymore. I get talked to instead of someone speaking another language I don’t understand, my nails are beautiful and exactly what I asked for everytime, and it’s like $20 cheaper than before.
I went to the salon for mothers day and she cut my cuticles so badly! She had to keep wiping the blood because she cut me so badly on one finger. My husband got me a gel manicure kit for christmas and i dont think I'll ever go to a salon again. I dont need a fancy design or tips or anything. I just want them to look nice. Mission accomplished with the at home kit.

I had a favorite salon before moving. But i mostly switched to impress or self painting occasionally cuz of sensory input and adhd restlessness. Totally feet you. I always loved the result but not the feeling of heaviness. Be careful with impress with using your hands on your hair it easily rips out hairsor gets stuck to hair which is painful.
In my opinion getting your nails done can be a waste but I get mine from a Coren salon it’s 1 girl she makes them FLAWLESS btw love your channel 🫠😝🌊❤️❤️

It's shouldn't hurt. Your nail tech wasn't good or experienced enough if it hurt while doing your cuticles. The nails were done bad too. If you want to do your nails yourself that's good. I'm doing mine too (even went to a nailtech cours, but i don't work as a nailtech. Just wanted to learn and do mine - correctly). But it's nice to give yourself a treat sometimes, so don't give up on nail techs, just find someone who really cares and is good. You'll see the difference emediatly. And yes quality is expensive 😊
I dont wear long nails or anything but i paint my nails a lot and sometimes your nails come out better when you do them yourslef then at a salon🤷♀️ store not nails are also super cute and if you have a variety of different colors of nail polish then it will be fun bc you can decorate them how you want!
I think you just got a bad nail tech but I do agree with you, it’s so boring and who can sit still for that long.. but mind you, when I do my own I think it’s easy and won’t take that long.. and I just do gel polish 😅😂

My controversial opinion is that i hate doing my nails.
Its not even the fact i aint a girl, but thr feeling and texture on it- especially since i bite my nails lots and nail polish (even when done professionally) comes off my nails in a week (my body rejects everything, got a little sharpie on me? Comes off in two days. Bleaching my hair? Doesnt even work. My body is weird as hell)
I feel this exact same way and I’m the type of person that will go to get my nails done I’ll get fake nails and then after like two days I want my nails back but I can’t because then I have to pay somebody to take them off or risk breaking my nails taking them off myself
some nail techs are really bad. i had one a few years that kept cutting my skin with the electric filer thingy-- and when it started to bleed, her solution was to PUT ALCOHOL ON IT. it hurt so bad i was fighting tears the entire time and my nails ended up looking like shit anyways

I’m only in 7th grade but my mom lets me get gel nails like 2-3 times a year but the other time she just paints my nails at home
I have been doing my nails for a little bit and I am not the best but personally I do not want to pay the money or spend the time to get my nails done and I have had some issues since the skin around my nails is very sensitive.
Everyone prefers different things and thats fine 😊 you dont have to like nail salons. Also, I think your nail technician probably wasn't the best because it is not supposed to hurt!❤

I also don’t understand the hype. I’m 18 years old and have been doing them since I was about 10. I‘ve only ever walked into a nail salon once in my lifetime and really don’t care if I don’t ever go again. Now, I have nothing against people going to a salon and getting them done, it’s just not who I am. IMO, getting press-ons and/or painting my nails myself is cheaper. Have I bought more than 400 bottles of nail polish in my lifetime? Maybe. But that polish is going to last you a lot longer than the nails your just going to get taken off in 2 weeks. I also think that when I do them myself it’s a way for me to express myself and my talent. Again, I have no problem with people who go get them done, doing them myself just works for me.
personally my nail tech is a good friend and does it really well! also this is my personal opinion but k think the press ons look tacky and they never fit your nail right and are all bulky

I used to loathe getting my nails done,like faithfully every 3 weeks I was there getting it all done over and over and over…. Until I got a REALLY REALLY BAD NAIL INFECTION!!! See,idk if anyone has ever realized how sensitive and how many nerves are in your fingers (ever had a hangnail that you ripped off and then every time you bumped it you thought you were gonna ☠️☠️) well times your worst by 100 and that’s how I was feeing for about a month. So now, I just use kiss nails and I’m GOOD!! lol 😂

I hate doing my nails. I got them done once when I was 15 or 16 and I have never been back in a salon. That was 13 years ago nearly. They used a drill bit on my cuticles which caused me to bleed and they gave me awful chunky french mani nails. I am someone who cannot stand filing my nails it goves me the creeps. I will actually vomit if I do it or someone does it. I can't be near someone who does either. I also can't stand watching it. I can not have anyone touch my cuticles either. Like trimming them hell no I'll faint.
Honestly, everyone has a different opinion but I think it might of been a bad nail tech but I LOVE YOUR VIDS SO MUCH
