Finally! A tutorial using a curler WITHOUT a clamp! I felt so confused trying to replicate other tutorials using my curler without the clamp, I can't wait to try this!
Just don’t use the clamping part. Or you open the clamp and you wrap your hair around it and still keep the clamp open. You will get the same outcome as a curler without a clamp.
Yeah she's using a curling wand and the ones with the clamp are curling irons. I NEVER could figure out how to do it right with the clamp and I didn't know you could just wrap your hair over the clamp like this other person said. I thought it would cause bumps. After I bought the wand it was a game changer for me but apparently I've been doing it wrong, I never brushed out the curls. I left it how it was in the beginning lol

👋🏼 cosmetology student here. some peoples hair just holds better than others. like olivia said when your hair is a little dirty it holds the curl better and it’s the same if you have damaged hair (which isn’t a bad thing. it’s actually easier to work with) because of the friction. super clean and healthy hair is slippery making it harder for the curl to hold. same goes for straightening.
it really just depends on ur hair texture. for some people it doesnt matter how hot they turn it up or which wand or iron they use. i have very thin flat hair and its pretty impossible to curl mine
everyone has damaged hair to some extent. hair damage can range anywhere from straightening it everyday, to getting it coloured every few months, to washing it too much! and i’m not encouraging that. but as a stylist in training it’s much easier to work with lol 😅 and i agree, heat protection is your best friend when using heat on your hair.

You have the blessing of naturally easy to curl hair. Literally ALL of your tips (brushing and oil on the tips) would pull the curl right out of my hair. I have ash blonde naturally stick straight medium hair that gets fairly oily quickly. I'm lucky if the curl lasts 2-3 hours. Very lucky lol.
Me too. My advice is: if you plan to curl your hair, do not condition it. If I condition my hair, not a single thing can make it curl. Not product, hairspray…nothing. I have to only use shampoo.
for anyone with a naturally coarse or frizzy hair texture, flip your head upside down and use your fingers to shake it out from the roots rather than brushing it through. you can also lightly run your finger through, but brushing it will give you a lions mane (discovered this from experience lmao)
Everyone told me to alternate curls and it never looked like this, glad I came across your video and know to curl them all away from the face on each side

Why can you ladies do such good hair and make up. Omg I never wear make up and I'm 32. I just started curling my hair this year and it does not look like that!! Maybe I need a new hair cut style. And if I brush my hair right after I curl, it just falls out like I didn't just spend 30 min to a hour curling it. I was not meant to be a girly girl lol btw you are so beautiful! I cant even tell how old you are. You could be 18 or 28.
