I've always been told you can't have it all ! Then this guy rocks up on his wonderful yacht after cruising the Med looks like a rock star/athlete and has the audacity to be genuinely lovely guy. Some people ! Top video Nick
I know right, he is absolutely beautiful, intelligent, is a liveaboarder on a SuperYacht (by classic standards), AND an explorer, a man true mariner, and seems to be an all around lovely guy with a lust for life. He has the full package! Haha!
What a fantastic episode. So interesting and Michael and his wife are truly living the dream. I know that in the main Micheal and his wife crew the boat so they don’t have a permanent captain but it looks like they have a permanent Stewardess? It’s so great that they were able to spec the ship to their exact needs and enjoy her as their home for such protracted periods. Really amazing! Thank you Nick for bringing us this and thank you Michael for allowing us to see your great boat and life!
They do say in another interview that they have a deckhand/stew to help out with things, but it's not intended to be permanent. Their intent from day one was to run the boat as a couple.
Nice to see Nick onboard a Bering yacht.. I would love to see Nick in Turkey at the Bering shipyard taking a tour with the owner of Bering yachts.. The two of them would get along famously ! Being a rock musician from the late 60's to today, I'm really curious to Michael's connection to rock ?? He may be a famous rock musician, or a producer, etc.. ?? Another GREAT episode of AQUAHOLIC !! Thank You Nick !!! ☮
What a beautiful life these two have created for themselves! Very inspiring. Thank you for uplifting my cold Canadian winter eve ❤ Amazing to see people living their dreams ❤
Hi , it is Michael again , just watched a video of him , and were living his dream again , this time with Nick . A sheer joy to watch . Thank you both .
Very practical. The wired remote is an example. WiFi is not always dependable. I'd love to be a fly on the wall seeing Michael and his wife's joy as they wave at Liberty. Thanks Nick &, Michael for this vlog
The wired control is also redundancy. If it slips from the operatos hands and the neckstap is forgotten, the sturdy wire sill keeps the device to be rescued. The wireless alternative rests forever at the seabed.
So nice when owners are willing to share their experiences and their boat with us. They're living the dream. Happy sailing to Michael and his wife😊, and thank you Nick for the video.
Nicks energy and genuine interest shown to these owners helps them I believe feel relaxed showing their wealth in a positive way and so they open up about their lives and the big toys they own.
I am dead jealous.. I would love to be able to do what he is doing (I keep checking my lottery tickets!), and he certainly has the right tool for the job. His home from home on the water that can deal with inter continental journeys. Out of all the manufacturers of boats, in my opinion Bering is the world leader.. Steel is what you need for oceanic travel! Bering - Comfort class! Nice interview Nick, it is good that you made him at ease and he just gave you everything.
It is interesting to understand the requests of the owner. I like his decision to keep plumbing in the room he converted to storage so that a future owner can modify the layout in the future. Your discussion with Michael was illuminating. He seems like a great character. When he visits Newfoundland, stop in my native home in Botwood on the NE coast and explore our murals. If he waves at Lady Liberty in NYC, come visit me in Stamford CT just 20 miles away and I will offer he and his wife a meal and a rum.
This guy is living the absolute dream, and comes across as an absolutely wonderful man with a thirst for life and a love for boating. Amazing video! Amazing guy, and amazing vessel!
@@franklayton991 So that’s why he did so many different videos at the same time! However, he still was living the dream, and is presumably wealthy enough to continue to live the dream on another vessel. So, I stick with my original comment, and still believe he was or is, living the dream, & may continue to do so.
Lofoten Islands and the midnight sun. A memory to hold for ever, a wonderful thing to see. At 3 am and the sun just kissing the horizon. I was on a cruise up the coast of Norway to the North Cape and back twelve years ago. I hope to do do it again next year. But to do it in your own boat and a Bering at that, you would drop anchor for a long time. Norway and its coast line is a truly beautiful place with lovely people.
This open design will be utilized on MANY sub 30m's forever forward! I absolutely love it! Thanks for the share Nick. I now will watch both vids multiple times throughout the weekend. My favorite '76 on the planet 🎉
That is a dream. If you were to Contact Bering and tell them what you want then it may be a wait until they build a hull. Having a Hull already built and all you have to do is change the plans for the interior would be a dream. Save a lot of time. Great boat and great company.
What a wonderful ship. This is really a ship where you can travel the world. I congratulate Michael and his wife on this beautiful ship and wish them both a great time and always a hand's breadth of water under their keel. Thank you for the great impressions and, as always, loving comments from Nick.
Living the dream, with a well planned out boat suited to their needs. What a fantastic plan for their life. Good luck Michael and your wife and enjoy your adventure
Absolutely wonderful ! It was such a special experience to spend time with this owner Michael. His knowledge and experience as well as his keen sence of design has made this Bering truly one of a kind. I love what he and the Bering team have accomplished. The fact that with all the changes they have made he had the forethought to keep in place all the necessary plumbing and wiring to return her to an original design for any future owner was brilliant. I really think what they have done is both beautiful and imaginative while making sure to keep her completely seaworthy. Nick, I think perhaps this is one of my favorite "Meet the owner" videos to date! Partly becouse I am a fan of a long distance cruiser and Bering (in my humble opinion) sets the highest standards for so many reasons. Simply put, a great video Nick! Thanks as always for bringing us along. Cheers Nick.
Brilliant episode of Meet the Owner, with a very knowledgable owner. Thank you Michael. His travels so far and plans going forward sound amazing. Perhaps you could do updates on their progress…. please!
Best one yet. Michael comes across as a top bloke really enthusiastic and knowledgeable and the type you could have a great conversation for hours. Bet his parties are good I'm sure the guitar gets well used! 😀 like the open plan , completely get that , great video Nick👌
Loved this Nick. Watched the tour you did with wet feet, but this additional meet the owner adds another dimension giving the vessel real personality and a developing story which is so special. The owner becomes the soul of the boat and the adventure begins. Exciting.
Thank you and well done Michael. Wishing you superb journeys ahead. If you are up to recording your adventure and sharing on You Tube a lot of us will watch.
Whilst not a boater myself, although I do work in the marine industry. What I love about these videos is the honesty of both the interviewer and the the Owners who have such pride "and why not" in their boats / homes. There is a genuine pathway to the tours and you glean the pleasure that both parties get in showing and been shown the fine craft. Keep up the marvelous work.
Great video Michael came across as a proud owner and a lovely man rather than a flash rich sod😂 someone who deserves all he has living the dream all the best sir
Wonderful plan for next year. Newfoundland is an amazing part of Canada and a little south Nova Scotia on the Atlantic is too. I toured on a boat through Nova Scotia and just fell in love with the coastline and scenery. I'm sure they will enjoy! Once again Nick you hit it out of the park! 😀
A brillant interview indeed. I am more and more intrigued by the Bearing Explorer yachts. I like running at a displacement speed, it’s relaxing and I want to take the time to soak in the constant vistas. I highly recommend the east coast of Canada and the USA and/or the absolutely endlessly stunning scenery of the west coast USA and Canada. More specifically Washington state up into British Columbia, Canada and Alaska. Have a great week Nick!
Great video. Super cruising boat. Yes I've discovered we seem to cruise at displacement speeds more and more. But it is nice to have two engines for redundancy and ease of manoeuvring
Lucky man. I wish I could do this but I need a pharmacy close by so i can get my prescription. Being a diabetic and having a heart transplant is a struggle
Great Chat with the Owner Nick, and Similar route planning to me, but for a Sailboat, and main difference is Im keeping well clear of the Mediterranean and all those Nasty Cold Places. Brrrr shivers at the thought. Best Wishes and Safe Travels. Bob. 👍⛵️✨️✨️✨️❤️
Seriously cool ! Bright guy at Bering to call , have a spare hull :-) it is a live aboard , so rarely seen ! Navigation by Nintendo ++++ :-) Not really a party boat , yet can travel in style . And the 10 knt cruising speed , going far , not fast . Great to see the layout :-) . Have heard of a couple also getting a boat around this size , they are looking more at charter work .:-)
This is fantastic. Thanks to the owner for taking us around; Michael seems like a very knowledgable, capable mariner. Love a Bering.
I'm glad you enjoyed it 🙂
I've always been told you can't have it all ! Then this guy rocks up on his wonderful yacht after cruising the Med looks like a rock star/athlete and has the audacity to be genuinely lovely guy. Some people ! Top video Nick
Yeah when you want to find faults then after 10 seconds wish he was your brother .
Top bloke, top boat.
I know right, he is absolutely beautiful, intelligent, is a liveaboarder on a SuperYacht (by classic standards), AND an explorer, a man true mariner, and seems to be an all around lovely guy with a lust for life.
He has the full package! Haha!
I have never loved a yacht like I do this one. It’s perfect and beautiful. The owner seems like a great person too.
I think I'm right in saying that ultimately they plan to run the boat entirely themselves. Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Bering is extremely flexible with their builds. They are almost one off coach builds other than the hull specs.
They do say in another interview that they have a deckhand/stew to help out with things, but it's not intended to be permanent. Their intent from day one was to run the boat as a couple.

A truly fantastic episode with Michael. Wish him and his wife all the best in living their dream. Thank you, Nick!
You're very welcome, I'm glad you enjoyed it 🙂
What a beautiful motor yacht. He sounds so proud and gives the impression he knows every last millimeter of it. Great video thanks .
Glad you enjoyed it! 🙂
Hi , it is Michael again , just watched a video of him , and were living his dream again , this time with Nick . A sheer joy to watch . Thank you both .
Said hello to you in peterhead
He absolutely loves his boat and family and friends. Beautiful boat
I'm so excited for the owner! I love to see a world cruiser like this actually getting used. Great vid.
I'm glad you enjoyed it 🙂
So nice when owners are willing to share their experiences and their boat with us. They're living the dream. Happy sailing to Michael and his wife😊, and thank you Nick for the video.
Our pleasure!
What a nice man. Love Bering. Wish him and his wife the best. Thanks for opening up your home.
Love Bering Yachts. Excited, happy, jealous of Michael and his future adventures.
Nicks energy and genuine interest shown to these owners helps them I believe feel relaxed showing their wealth in a positive way and so they open up about their lives and the big toys they own.
What a lovely bloke and as ever humbling to listen to his dreams articulated fantastically in English as naturally as his mother tongue.
I am dead jealous.. I would love to be able to do what he is doing (I keep checking my lottery tickets!), and he certainly has the right tool for the job. What you’re feeling is envy, not jealousy. You want something another person has, you’re not afraid they’re going to take something away from you. 👍
I love the haircut of the owner Michael! His family has a beautiful philosophy on travelling, and Bering is always great for all-around world boating.
Very generous of the owners to show us around. Hopefully they will have many happy years enjoying their beautiful yacht.

The yacht is up for sale already on the Bering web site ,so much for living the dream

Hopefully it’s not health related. They seem like really nice people. Hope everything is ok❤
Absolutely brilliant episode Nick.. So interesting to hear first hand Michael and his Wife's plans.. truly living the dream.
Watching prior to my 12 hour work shift. Beautiful Yacht. Dreams keep us alive!
Absolutely brilliant video! And an owner who is willing to share his passion. Thanks for that!
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂

what a really NICE chap Michael is to take the time to share his time with us
Lucky Man living the dream, Thanks for the insight of his plans for both of the yacht and future sailing voyages
A very sympatic owner which living his or better their dream with a fantastic yacht, all the very best on their journey
I still love the galley. Simply beautiful. Thank you bother.

Glad you like it! 🙂
Another fantastic and wonderful meet the owner. A joy to watch
Thank you very much! 🙂
Wonderful video and so nice of the owner to show everything. The cable control is also a super idea. Great video again Nick. Just fun to watch here.
Glad you enjoyed it 🙂
That's a very interesting content: after their boat, made for them, speaking about them, to have them talk to us!
Great move!
I'm glad you enjoyed it 🙂
@@AQUAHOLIC yes it gave the human factor, the missing link for me when a boat is an owner's one, and the real life that might come with it.
6:30 That door! Literally saved 2+ inches on laundry room interior! Elbow room is appreciated!

We learnt that some yachts are not fit to travel around the world despite their majestic look …. Great video !
I enjoy meeting the owners. Great to see his enthusiasm and a fantastic boat. Nice one !
You nailed it! He’s living the dream!
Love the open main floor, but it really needs a door to the front bow space. You see this done so well on the B'yond 37.
