Great video! I was wondering; What type of wood finish did you use, and how is it holding after two years of usage? Since we are dealing with a surface that have a water environment
It must be some very hard finish.
By the way silicon around the drain is not a very good idea, plumbers putty is the way to go.

Hey! I used Waterlox and it's holding up beautifully. Super careful not to drop anything (i.e. hair dryer) on the surface, but I view it as strong with zero bulging or warping from moisture entry happening to date. You are correct about putty over silicon - I regret doing that to the left drain...requires regular cleaning. Thanks for your comment!

hi there, ty for your videos. i have a question. We have ugly old cultured marble shell shaped integrated sink turning yellow (barf!) & its really low, like 4 inches above my son's knees (he's 6 ft. We need a quick and low cost fix without removing anything. So I decided to either paint or contact paper the vanity and maybe even the countertop. Add Cool Knobs. & last but not least, put a larger, taller rectangular vessel sink above & new fixtures. My question is, Do you really need to remove the preexisting sink? Can't I just run the drain pipe through the existing hole in the existing sink & add the extension pipe?

Not sure, but if you have a direct line of vision from the p-trap to the bottom of the new sink drain, I don’t see why you’d need to remove the existing sink. Could just run extended drain tube like you said. Good luck!

So your sink link goes to a totally different sink.

Oops - sorry about that. These companies sometimes change brand names and links are affected. I found the same sink and updated the link - you should now be able to see it. Thanks for letting me know!
