    Kara's journey and arc was definitely the highlight of this season for me. Being brainwashed by Brainiac into thinking he's the only one Kara needs so she isn't alone, and him using her to destroy other worlds without her knowing was such a good backstory. Her growing from that by the end was so well done

    My Adventures with Superman is a great series that respects Superman and what he stands for. Season 2 was also a great season, with Kara being the highlight of the season. Kara's backstory in the series is more tragic than in the comics as she was essentially raised the exact opposite of how her cousin Clark was raised. She was essentially raised by Brainiac, who viewed human emotions as a weakeness and made Kara his kryptonian weapon of conquest. I also like the show's decision to make Clark and Kara the same age as it definitely helps with their family dynamic. Clark and Kara's relationship just felt like the heart of the season, even though they officially meet halfway through the season. Once Clark finds out from Jor-El that he has a cousin, it's set up for the two kryptonian cousins to meet, even if it is somewhat delayed. What's sad is that despite how much Clark and Kara want to find each other, they don't have the best first meeting and it ultimately ends with Superman being defeated and kidnapped. I also do find that this season is enlightening when it comes to Lois' character, as it explains her issues while also showing how her issues have negative consequences with Clark. While I do like how Clark and Lois relationship improves through adversity, I personally enjoyed Clark and Kara's familial relationship more this season. Despite having a bad first start, Clark and Kara bond quickly and in way that makes sense to their situation of being the last known kryptonians and being of the same family, despite living different lives. It was ultimately their bond that led to Kara fighting against Brainiac for Clark and set her on her path to being Supergirl. Brainiac was also a great villain as he was not only a threat that could take over or destroy the Earth, but he was a villain who had a personal connection with Superman through his ties to Krypton. Lex Luthor, despite not interacting much Superman this season, really is set up to be Superman's archenemy as the series progresses. Also, if you look closely at the season finale during Brainiac's flashback of what happened to Krypton, you see 2 planets above Krypton. One of the planets clearly resembles Apokalips, which may somewhat confirm that Krypton was at war with Darkseid. I also have a theory that Jor-El was having peace talks with New Genesis, which could be the other planet above Krypton. It would make sense as Darkseid would never negotiate peace if he was winning the war unless New Genesis got involved. We'll just have to wait and see. I can't wait for season 3, and I really hope it focuses on the rivalry between Superman and Lex Luthor.

    They should make a Wonder Woman animated series. It's a crime that she hasn't had her own animated series.

    My Adventures with Superman has so much Lore, Love, and Respect for the Man Of Steel while doing something Different and Familiar at the Same Time and this became one of my Favorite Modern Cartoons.

      I completely agree!! That's what I love the most about MAWS, it clearly has a deep respect and understanding of Superman's lore, but it also reimagines and subverts a lot of concepts in clever new ways

    Hopefully it wouldn’t be too campy but Krypton and Streaky would be fun to see in season three. I don’t need Beppo or Comet, but with some of the obscure pulls this show makes I can see them being added also.

      I'd love to see Krypto and Streaky!! I think they could look pretty well in MAWS' art style and they wouldn't feel too out of place in the show's usual lighthearted tone

    Season 2 was such a big step up from Season 1, even though I was a big fan of Season 1. I especially LOVED what this show did with Kara/Supergirl, as this is my favourite take on Supergirl yet, and I love how they handled her character arc. I really like the overall theme about longing for a place in the world and Clark going through his own inner struggles of whether he truly belongs on Earth as an alien with growing xenophobia and whether he has a right to be on Earth when he feels like he only makes other peoples life's worst as Superman, especially Lois and Jimmy. It's a great narrative that shows how relatable and emotionally rich the character can be when you get people who understand him to write him like a three-dimensional person who has relatable problems despite what he can do. Jack Quaid, as a whole, truly blew me away with his depiction of Clark Kent and Superman, as this honestly might be my favourite animated take on Superman/one of the best depictions of Superman in general. I also really liked how well this show handled the theme of stability and insecurities as we see how both Clark and Lois have been struggling to maintain a stable relationship and given their own insecurities and self-doubt it only led to the two of them growing apart and ultimately realising that no matter what the two of them will always see one another as the strongest person they know and you can understand from both perspectives what led to this fracture as Clark was doubting his own place in this world and feeling alienated (literally) and more isolated as a person and Lois was grappling with her own self-doubt and feelings of inadequacy and abandonment issues when it came ot her relationship with her father. Ultimately that moment of the two of them coming together and rekindling their love for each to break out of Brainiac's control was one of my favourite and cutest moments of the show
    Furthermore, Clark's arc this season is well juxtaposed by Kara's excellent character arc of having her whole life under the manipulation of Brainiac and thus never showing true love or genuine familial affection and only teaching herself to believe Brainiac loved her as any father would, but slowly realises how much she's been lied to and that alone break her, and its only with love from Clark, Jimmy and Lois does she see that she has a choice of what she wants her place in this world to be and finds her own individuality and balance in this world. Brainiac in this show is also a great villain, and Micheal Emerson gives a fantastic performance in the role as this more robotic, sadistic, dark take on him. He truly feels like a menacing threat, and his personal connection with Clark and Kara makes him all the more of a despicable villain and definitely the best villain in the show so far. Plus his design, voice and actions are giving major Frieza vibes. Though I do agree some of the villain designs are very hit or miss and feel rather bland, which is a shame because so many of these characters could've had such visually distinct and appealing designs like in the comic that all stand out from each other aside from being fairly bland tech-based suits and give them more interesting origins and personalities as I feel like Metallo, Livewire and Silver Banshee could've been way cooler villains but whatever I guess
    Cant wait for Season 3 and the confirmation of Lex Luthor (officially bald) to be the main villain and other villains and characters like Superboy and Cyborg Superman etc... to appear

    • @SantiBarrios
      @SantiBarrios  หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      I never thought about it but Brainiac does feel a lot like Frieza, especially since in this universe they confirmed that he killed the Kryptonians similar to how Frieza killed the Saiyans. The show's villain designs are very hit or miss, but I'd personally love it if they took even more inspiration from DBZ or animé lol (I'd love a DBZ style Darkseid and New Gods)
      Thank you for your great analysis, I'm also already excited about Bald Luthor!!

      @@SantiBarrios I am loving how well this show uses Dragon Ball Z as inspiration for characters in this show:
      *Clark = Goku*
      *Lois = Chichi*
      *Jimmy = Krillin*
      *Kara = Android 18 + Vegeta*
      *Brainiac = Frieza*
      Id love to see more villains and characters in the show take inspiration from DBZ and other anime as for the most parts it's worked surprisingly well. Darkseid and the New Gods especially would be so cool to see, inspired by DBZ.

    we have had a long list of super hero shows between 2016 and now ,I lost the list when I accidently clicked off and will not be retyping it but it was a lot. you forget Disney bout Marvel and made a ton of stuff. there's a lot out for preschoolers and a lot of edgy stuff out too. Even after BTAS we had a lot. Small dry spell after Green Lantern but we got right back in after Disney acquired Marvel. I blame the audience for letting down the studio. If more of you saw Green Lanter DC wouldn't have almost died. More accurate to say we had a shortage of DC animation as they focused on CW.

    13:23 That would be cool but I have theory that, if the show introduce Metallo, it won't be John Corben, but rather Hank Henshaw (AKA Superman Cyborg), due to the similarities of both villains (they are both men who, due to an accident are turned into cyborgs and seeking revenge on Superman).

    • @SantiBarrios
      @SantiBarrios  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Yeah they probably won't adapt John Corben if they plan on showing Cyborg Superman since their storylines are kinda similar. It sucks that we'll probably won't see the real Metallo, but Cyborg Superman is an awesome character that hasn't been adapted much outside of the comics so it'll be cool to see him.

    • @alexandrefrauches132
      @alexandrefrauches132 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@SantiBarrios It's sad, but to be fair it would not be the first time Metallo wasn't Corben. In the classics, John actually died in his first apperance and his brother Mark Corben became the Metallo until the Crisis on Infinite Earths. The same could be case for Henshaw, allowing him to be unique villain rather than another "evil Superman".
      However, if they decide to go with Cyborg Superman, I really hope they go full on Reing of Superman, with Henshaw being a major villain (maybe even teaming up with Mongul since they were partners in the comics, and Mongul could easly be connect to the Krypton sub-plot).

    @Santi Barrios this show is really great so far it may not be like The animated series version that’s okay, I understand it wants to be its own thing and It’s a good thing. The animation is really good the stories are interesting. The only thing I didn’t really like is just the voices for Silas Stone and Perry White (personally they should have casted Kevin Michael Richardson for Perry), the voice felt weird and out of place and Supergirl pronouncing Superman’s Kryptonian name. It just felt weird but hopefully in season 3 she’ll just call him Clark or something but overall I love the show.
