- This is the all-new Peugeot 308. The 308 in the plug-in hybrid version and the GT trim is chic and cool. So Peugeot certainly covers the looks, but how does the PHEV version perform on the road?

A big YES here! This week, whilst having my wife’s C3 serviced, I looked at the the e-208 GT Line and was unexpectedly impressed by it for its fine seats, interior design and quality materials. The 308 is not really the segment I’m looking for but maybe I should be after all….Peugeot used to be a very special manufacturer with a quality history and image. That feel apart in the 1980”s and has never really caught up until the past 2/3 years. I say Well Done…a car to keep in mind when configuring an A Klasse or BMW 1er. 🤔🤔😎😎😎
It's a nay here!! Nice car, but I don't think I'll EVER throw my hat in the ring for any EV or hybrid.
Another great well presented review Anna. I like it. The angles of the displays on the dash would not look out of place in a star trek shuttle craft but it looks good and seems to work well. Again brilliant production and editing. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you Anthony. I think at first, the cabin does appear to be a bit of a star trek shuttle but very quickly you start to see the elegance shining through!

Peugeot has made a big step forward from new 508 II. I was considering ordering 308 but the are not available with diesel 177hp. Finally I bought 508 with this engine (as one of the last at dealer). Every time when I’m driving this car I am angling, and that means that Peugeot is better then previous car :). Nice content 🙏🏻

Anna - this is the 16th review I've watched on the various forms of the 308 (I am a Peugeot fanatic). This is, by far, the best organised review I have seen. As a sideline you might teach most of the men how to do a car review. Spend most of the time on the road, mentioning the specifics as they become relevant. Thank you ever so much Allan. I do try to be structured as much as I can :-) I was never a Peugeot fanatic but I must I have to say, I am now loving Peugeot. The other day, I saw the 308 Sportwagon in turquoise paint colour, turned my head and said to my mum "look, look mum, that's the latest Peugeot!" Most people will agree that they have now become one of the prettiest cars out there, whilst some brands have simply rested on their laurels.

And it really is a pity! Hard for a French manufacturer to succeed in Australia if they don't employ the right people
@@AnnaOnRoads I am an Australian Peugeot owner - you are right. Renault and Peugeot have a history of very poor promotion and sales managing in Australia. We have lots of good Peugeot mechanics. Peugeot Australia have been pretty good to deal with in recent years so maybe there's some hope. Our family have owned Peugeots since 1957 and have stuck with them. We have always had good mechanics , but rarely needed them.
I expect the most beautiful heavy right foot to give me 10 litres in this and 15 miles electric range 😎

Brilliant review Anna. I got to admit I'm really liking the new Peugeot design. I think that 308 GT looks great and sporty like a hatchback should do. Love the interior, it looks very stylish and futuristic like the 508 that you reviewed the other day. Yeah I agree you want the most power that you can out of the options of power. Pretty amazing MPG that you got out of it and great performance. Love the new Peugeot badge, it looks more up market. Sound quite expensive but like you said you pay for what you get. Question, What is this thing call Tinder that you talk about? ;-). I thought a smart lady like you would be totally off market. Apologies. Brilliant video and presenting as always. Thank you Anna!! What a great video. However, I was disappointed with Peugeot, when they have replaced the chrome lichen the whole lion with just a black elem with only the lion's head on it. You are brought up always seeing the chrome lion and now gone.

Always happy to help :-) Well, it's never easy to predict which car will brake. Peugeots have had a very good run recently when it comes to reliability. If you drive in town, short distances at lower speeds (50-80 km/h) it is worth charging your battery, you will save here. @@Eivor2023

1892, so annoyingly close to a nice connection, as Peugeot was founded in the year 1896.
Peugeot have come a long way but £40k is a joke. Price it at £30k and it might find some takers.
i took one for $ 37.5 K ( still waiting delivery) Peugeot 308 1.6L PHEV 180 HP GT Premium and i think for the price u get more then others offer
@Flaviu Zanfir I traded my mercedes cla for the 308 and don't regret it. The 308 has better options than the cla. Only thing better at cla is the mood lighting

I'm not sure how Peugeot are still managing to stumble along. Their cars are overpriced and their interiors, dash and steering wheels (in some cases at least) are horrible. Their glory days are long gone. It's hard to believe they made one of the favourite cars that I've owned.
Weird, I think their newer cars look great and are the only mid-range brand that manages to turn my head their way. Sat inside one on a motor show, looks nice, doesn't feel cheap-ish as a VW, Skoda, etc. Outside is the same, way past the child-yoy looks of Nissans and Toyotas, galaxy away from VW/Skoda pseudo-classic looks.
Everyone praises their engines too.
So what's wrong with them?

Stumble along? Peugeot are part of the Stellantis group which own about 14 brands so they are doing ok. The interiors, dash and steering wheel aren't horrible but I understand 'you' don't like it. Have you sat in/driven one? I currently own the latest gen BMW Z4 for the weekends and this 308GT premium in an estate for a daily and I can safely say that the Peugeot is easily on a par for interior quality. The paint on the Peugeot is far better than the BMW as well. Anna is a well respected and knowledgable reviewer and she has said in another video she has a 'soft spot' for this car. Keep an open mind on this car, it may surprise you as it did me. I adore mine.
I agree. They lost their magic after the 205/306 era and have never regained their touch. The build arguably the greatest GTI of all time and now they haven't even got a car that can begin to contend and neither have they for years. The very great majority of their buyers will be people who have zero interest in driving.

A bit overpriced but overall great car
Sorry to say, but kinda dowdy looking and no body part exchanges please. This french poodle is no greyhound but our lady has little trouble when putting her toes down. Convincing review but did you expect otherwise? Fingers scurry but so much to show.
