Beef Chow Fun is part of my regular rotation. Like Aaron mentioned, it’s quick and full of flavor. I have even made it with knife cut wheat noodles when I didn’t have time to get wide rice noodles. Also delicious.
Great suggestion for using dry rice noodles. I love using fresh ones for chow fun but it's such a pain separating them. Using the dry ones will be so much easier!
Alright, so I'm gonna need a variation on HelloFresh that is JUST recipes from Aaron and Claire, because the meals always look amazing. You order specific recipes portioned out for your family size, and they just automatically show up on your doorstep weekly. (Bonus if the recipe listing for the week coincides with whatever gets posted here on TH-cam so you can cook along.) I'd subscribe to that meal service in a heartbeat.
Awesome! Making this tonight. Just wanted to check - there's no time listed for the marinade. I assume that means it only needs to sit while I'm prepping the other ingredients? Thanks! 🎉
Yay! I recently purchased wide rice noodles but didn't have a specific plan for them. Now I do. And thanks. Since going gluten-free noodles are sometimes a problem.
This dish looks delicious and easy to make. Your chicken chow main recipe is our go to recipe 3-4 times a month. I just ordered your cookbook. I absolutely love the simplicity of your recipes and the taste of them. I’m my own worst critic of the food I make and your recipes have never disappointed.
i just did it, it is soooo tasty! Need to do it again cause my italian culture let me cook the rice noodles too much :/ BUT thanks! you are the only one i trust for Korean recipes!!
I definitely recommend the dried rice noodles. They're convenient to store in your pantry and they're honestly easier to work with than the fresh noodles. Plus you can control how long you soak them if you want a chewier noodle with a bit of "tooth".
OMG.....I'm gonna have to TRIPLE my walking route if you keep putting these noodle recipes out....between this one and the peanut butter noodles (still my alltime fave so far.....) LOL Thank, Aaron.......I'll let you know if these are better, but I don't see anything beating those peanut butter noodles....
Aaron, do you have a link for the wok that you use? I use a carbon steel one and have gotten pretty good with it, but that nonstick one looks like it could be super useful!
Omg thank you guys! Every recipe I’ve watched says to use fresh noodles which I could never find. Thank you so much for this. I can’t wait to make this at home. 🥹
This looks delicious! I have 2 questions, just from my own curiousity. For "dark soy sauce", is that Korean soup soy sauce? Or the Chinese Dark, Sweet Soy Sauce? Or the Japanese Dark Soy Sauce? (There might be too many "dark soy sauce" versions...) 🤣 My second question is one you may or may not have an answer to. Does adding baking soda to a marinade then require that the meat be cooked on high heat, like in a wok? Or will the meat still come out tender with a lower temperature cooking method? (This one is absolutely just idle curiousity, since I make a lot of single and double serving meals in my rice cooker and last night's used beef. The beef I used wasn't the greatest quality, so I was just pondering options that might help in the future to make the beef tastier.)
"These dry noodles have been sitting in my pantry for a while". You meant 3 years, didn't you? I can't be the only one who randomly finds old stuff like that.
I never did buy the soy sauce you use, but I wonder how it compares to this brand I got from a buddy of mine. It's Vietnamese soy sauce, I think. It's Dragonfly brand, and it comes in a big glass bottle with a very obvious label because it's just a huge picture of a bunch of soy beans with the branding on it. I tried to find it online and I cannot find anywhere to order this stuff. He got it from an Asian market in the city. I usually use Kikoman because it's readily available at every local store, but holy moly, I will never, EVER buy that stuff again. Kikoman now tastes like absolute trash to me. This Thai soy sauce tastes so insanely good I could just drink the stuff. If any of the other Asian brands like the one you use taste this good, then everyone should really consider getting some. You will never buy the crap from your local grocer ever again.
Noooooooo! Don't say "stop worrying and give it a try", I watch your videos to hear you say "Don't worry about it". I've watched you so many times I can't help but say that phrase just as you do it.

I’ve seen dried flat cellophane noodles … can that be subbed for the dried rice noodles, too? I love the texture of the sweet potato japchae noodles
This looked fabulous & there weren't many dishes to wash, bonus! Take care guys❤
Less cleanup is always a win, right? 😍 Take care Bonnie, and thanks for watching! 😍😍😍
i just did it, it is soooo tasty! Need to do it again cause my italian culture let me cook the rice noodles too much :/ BUT thanks! you are the only one i trust for Korean recipes!!
Can you suggest any substitute for the wine? The dish looks really good 🤤
My favorite comfort food since I was a child! I'm inspired to make it this week because of your video!
Your fresh and tasty food recipes are easy to follow and fun!
I just made this and the flavor is savory but not too hearty and heavy! We used thin sirloin
♥️♥️♥️one of my fav dishes

Looks great!
Thank you for watching! 😍😍
Looks delicious

How do I get your cooking pan? It looks good to use !
Awesome.❤🎉.
Haven't had this since I was in Hong Kong in 78.

I dose my fried noodles heavily with white pepper.
This looks delicious!!! ☺️🌹♥️
Thank you! I hope you give it a try! 😍
마싰어 버여여, 고마워요 Aaron 🎉
Thank you so much for saying that!! 😍
Delicious bro 👍🏼
Thanks bro 😎
Do you have a non-alcoholic substitute for the mirin/wine?
If it’s not Japanese food, you can substitute with the same amount water with a pinch of sugar! 🙌
What do recommend as a substitute for oyster sauce, due to allergy?
You can simply add more soy sauce or use vegan oyster sauce made with mushrooms. Still gonna be fantastic, don’t worry!
@@AaronandClaire Thank you!
WOW 🎉
😍😍😍😍😍😍
It’s actually a travesty to cook the steak all the way so I wholeheartedly agree 🤨😏
I would love to know what circumstances Aaron chooses to use 701 soy sauce instead of 501.. I am having a hard time deciding when to use which.
London broil is cheaper. BTW I bought your book. You r the best.
Absolutely! I love London broil 👍
❤❤
Chinese restaurant near me charged $17 for a small portion of chow fun!
How long exactly does the beef marinate for?
10 to 30 minutes would be enough! Hope you enjoy it! 😍
@@AaronandClaire great thank you !
"Trust me..." The phase I love to hear.
👍
I repeatedly make meifun, my top favorite. But I’m looking forward to seeing how this goes
I'm sorry did Aaron say garlic is optional????
"These dry noodles have been sitting in my pantry for a while".
You meant 3 years, didn't you? I can't be the only one who randomly finds old stuff like that.
Heads up the prep is not 15 minute s - the cooking takes 15 minutes though
So true!
Looks delicious even though the white noodles look like tapeworms.
But thankfully, they taste a lot better! 🤣🤣🤣
