    Phu - the reason a tube loses air over time is because of temperature changes. Generally speaking, you'll lose about 1 or so psi per 10 degrees of temperature fluctuation. A few months of cold nights will cost you air pressure. Love the channel! Midschool 4everrr

      NAA, I have a few bikes where one tire goes flat after a few months, Rubber has small holes, some bigger than others

    • @jeremybittinger2901
      @jeremybittinger2901 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @DnB-BMX there are many variables in manufacturing. Down to a leaking valve core from a product that is mass produced. But physics tell the truth my man, park a car in a field for 2 years and come back and check the tire pressure. Aint no tubes in car tires. Colder air is more dense. Hotter air allows for molecule expansion, resulting in a pressure differential.

    • @DnB-BMX
      @DnB-BMX ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@jeremybittinger2901 so to prove your theory correct I need to park a car in a field for 2 years and do regular measurements and some intense number crunching... Bro rubber has microscopic holes and they are not uniform in size, ruling out bad valves that's why one tire goes flat faster than the other after a few months without a puncture,

    • @jeremybittinger2901
      @jeremybittinger2901 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @DnB-BMX you can literally just Google why a tire loses air over time. But don't worry I did it for you. The top 2 reasons are as follows:
      Osmosis through permeation
      Temperature fluctuation.
      What the hell do I know im just a 37 year old ASE master technician with 20 years of automotive experience. You kids have all the tools and no ambition to learn. Good luck in your travels! Take care.

      @@jeremybittinger2901 Relax mate it's not a degree measuring contest, people are allowed to have an understanding of materials without "the top answer on Google" whatever that is supposed to prove 😂 ruling out punctures and bad valves please explain why one tire goes flat faster than the other?? If your theory was perfect then both tires would lose air at roughly the same rate which is definitely not the case!

Would love to see you do an update video on chains and sprockets, how to fix tight spots in your chain without having to mess with your sprocket, ghetto fixes for chains/sprockets, and what lubes and cleaners are safe to use on your chain, sprockets, and cassettes. Glad you guys are back with these 👊🏼👊🏼

    That was a pretty damn good video where I work in the bike shop for a very long time. Maybe you should talk about trying to get that spindle out on a 48 spine probably with no grease or if it does it’s probably been sitting for so long and the possible chances of the pedals being completely seized. because I hated those bikes when they had to come into the shop. I think you need to make a video about this whole entire bike where it is right now. but this is back in 2000 -2015 Things have changed over the years. I’ve been out of the industry for so long. We had certain protocols and bikes, like this came into the shop so that person wouldn’t have to spend a lot of money only if we had time, but it was never during the summer that we would do that.

  • @justsomeguy404
    @justsomeguy404 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    If you're caught in the rain, wipe the bike down (dry) before storing it away. Also i spray WD-40 on my frame , bars , fork , wheels and sprocket. Just a light spray and wipe it off.

    • @jeremybittinger2901
      @jeremybittinger2901 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This works! I ride a matte raw frame with no clear and wd 40 does the trick, cleans it up and prevents rusting. Similar to how you'd oil your cast iron cookware.

  • @cfmechanic
    @cfmechanic ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Ghetto hack video would be cool. We would use vaseline on brake cable to precent them from fraying, also used candles and crayons to help make cable slide in housing and not bind. I have also installed grips using brake clean

      I have a 2012 specialized p20 pro that is my baby, but I also have a ghetto gt performer that I use as a daily driver and for experimenting. But since the quality of the parts aren’t as high and I beat the hell out of this thing and run it in all weather, it’s starting to look like the bike in the video. I didn’t even think of using lube on the rusty bits around my sprocket and crank arms. It’s like how people used to oil spray the bottom of their trucks to stop rust. Really smart and I did it last night

    If you want to get rid of the rust Strip it down to frame and forks and bar get some fine sandpaper and some WD-40 Grease the bearings in the headset Strip the cranks down and put new crank bearings in and grease the axle of The cranks and use chain lube on the chain and pump up the tyres to the correct pressure and you’re good to go 🔥👍🚲💨

    That's helpful for some, but how about a complete overhaul? Bearings should be greased, including the sealed bearings. The seals come right out, and press back in after greasing the bearings. The retainers that hold the balls in sealed bearings can seize right up when they get rusty.

  • @eddie_cooper

    When I started out riding had a kink I bought with only rear breaks can't, remember the brand of breaks, but finger tight adjustments did the job, no need for lubricants. Now I am completely look onto studying gyro tablets it's a little bit complex, considering I never rode, front breaks or knew any who, did this will be new to my bmx resume, anybody know much please educate me for more information on quality brands, and assembly, just comment down or give me a link to an informational video, I know nobody much rides all round breaks and know, it's been around, I use read some old, ride BMX magazines, when i was in high, school?
