Neat contraption. You'll get a lot of heavy lifting done with your crane. Enjoyed a full-watch. 👍🏽🤠 12/31/23

Pretty cool! great video--I installed a 1000 lift on my trailer hitch on my 2500--ie--not permanently but can be bolted--used it to buy a 400 lb hf sheet metal bender...

I bought one of the HF load levelers back in the eighties and have not used it a whole bunch but when I needed it it made the job a lot easier. Pulling engines with transmissions out of trucks was a breeze tipping it one way then the other. Same with pulling engines out of crowded engine spaces in boats and the V drives and Gears as well. Well worth the purchase and I have never had to repair anything on it. On TH-cam I see guys pulling engines which are all askew coming up against the firewall or radiator supports with no way to work the load. Good idea to buy one.

Yes, thank you for sharing your experiences, I've never had to do that with a load leveler, but it sounds like it has a lot more uses than I know of. Thanks for watching and commenting 👍

To make the setup as useful as possible, weld three more corresponding mounts ahead and behind the axles. Your jack legs will suffice for the rear lifts.

To prevent bending you could weld in a smaller square piece inside of the existing square piece. Double wall!

That little HF lift made it look easy. Without it you would have had a tough time. I'm building a crane trailer and think I'll mount something like this on the top deck . Thanks for the ideas

I have this crazy idea to build an observation deck 13' feet high and I wanted a crane mounted on top. Your idea is just what I was looking for. There's a steam donkey at the shows I go to with a really high stack and it's always a struggle to put it up.
      Thanks again

You can just use a single point lift... we did that with telephone poles loading them on a trailer, after you do it a few times, you can just look at it and know where the center of gravity is.

  • @andypetras3966

Just a thought, instead of having to remove the crane when you drive down the road, you could just cable out and attach your hook to one of your tie down points and then tighten it down.... Then it'll never come out... Pretty neat though!

It doesn't take a 1000 lbs to bend it's less trust me you better beef it up I did with 3/4 rear end axles and made the pins from the small hole they give you to 3/4 pins with washers that you can weld on to upgrade to being beefed up I also took well pipe to the receiver hitch on the back of the truck and then I took more well pipe to the gooseneck ball it strengthens the crane hoist I also didn't use the hand winch that came with it I used a 5500 lbs winch to power the cran hoist!

@@anesthesiadreamin I would definitely do that when I get another chance to use it again! the way to use it for heavy duty lifting you have to do this in this situation but it is set up for any truck everything is removable the reese hitch and the gooseneck are the key muscles for the hoist.
