I do not have hoarding disorder. Consequently, I have, at times, felt very judgmental toward those who do hoard. But your sweet, gentle videos have really opened my eyes to the humans behind the "stuff". Thank you for sharing your story!!!
I have a feeling you are doing what many hoarders dream of doing with their things. I often hear people say "it just needs to be organized" on the show Hoarders. It seems you are actually doing that and helping yourself and others along the way. You have come so far and your pace is realistic, which is caring and loving to yourself and others. Love is the power!!
Love love love your encouraging message!! For years, I dreamt of being this this space…able to let go! I hope this helps hoarders realize that they can do it too ❤️🙏🏼❤️🙏🏼❤️
Tossy tossy ribbon scraps is a huge accomplishment for you! So happy for your growth. I think Pepper jumping in as your awesome emotional support kitty definately helps encourage you also with less anxiety.
Wow - you have explained why my beloved daughter has trouble letting go of her mountain of craft and art supplies! Thank you so much and please continue humanizing this issue ❤❤❤
I love following your journey and I have learned very much from it. I have a hoarder in my family and you have given me some tools to be helpful and respectful when she asks for help. Thank you for that and also to allow us to see when you put things away; for some people that is very satisfying ☺
I haven't even watched the video yet, but seeing a new video after a long week at work just made me so happy! I'm so very thankful you started sharing your journey with us all.
You are such a cool, hardworking, empowered woman! You working so hard on yourself and towards the life and world you want is a true inspiration to me. 😊
I am so glad you bring up how damaging the bullying in school can be-it is essential that adults intervene in effective ways and not blame the victims or allow it to continue. Bullying behavior needs to be labled as such, and not tolerated. Students need to be informed and empowered to report bullying and taught how to help stop it. I am so very happy that you have emerged like a butterfly from your experience, and now have the love and admiration from so many! You always deserved to be treated with kindness and respect!
I love the emotion discussion but I used to love in your basement videos how you would explain if each item was trash, donate or keep. I watch these videos and most items I’m not sure what you’re doing with them. Would like to hear more of that too
You’re right, I used to verbally say it! I’m this video, whatever I placed on the left of the screen was Tossy Tossy, what I put on the right side, I kept. I’m going to start recording basement videos like that again!
Decluttering sure is hard because it brings up either happy or sad feelings. Pepper cat helps keeping you calm and happy. Pepper is a wonderful inspector. Great to seeing her playing. You did a great job going through the craft supplies. Elizabeth B.
Wow that was a trip down memory lane. You are such an amazing artist, what a lovely gift to have. I had to laugh when I saw more ribbon. Whenever you go through the bins of it will be fun. Miss Pepper is such a wonderful companion while going through all the bins. Well done on another huge pile leaving your basement 👏🙇♀️ Have a great weekend. Mary, Joes wife 🙇♀️👏👍💪🙏💐🐈🦄
ooh melanie you know what you should in the basement once it’s all done with cleaning ?? you should make a craft area with shelves and a desk then it will all be visible butterfly 🦋 style so you can see it and use it ❤
I usually never comment on youtube videos but I resonate with the bad memory so deeply. My work around is now a little adventure book. Whenever I hold a deep memory I stick the thing in my book and I write down the memory. This gives me a timelapse of my adventures and helps me keep my memory stuff well stored ❤
I watch your channel with my mom. We use your advice to sort through my father’s hoarded rooms. He passed a few years ago and my mother has had a hard time letting go of his possessions. Our progress is very slow. Thank you for showing what is tossed and what is kept and how you sort it. I think it is very important to have a plan for the space so you have extra motivation to complete the decluttering and organizing. I am very excited to see your progress ❤
When you were pulling that ribbon out of the bin, it reminded me of the magicians who pull a handkerchief out of their sleeve or pocket. You know the schtick - where they keep pulling and pulling and it doesn't seem to have an end. I'm looking forward to you being able to set up your crafting area in your basement. That will make all the work worthwhile!
This video hit home. I have been doing the same thing for years. Keeping things that felt like memories etc. I kept telling myself I was keeping the stuff for my kids to use. And we did use some but not all. I have work to do!
You are not alone in those thoughts and emotions, millions of us feel the same way as you! Please I will be cheering you on every step of the way!!! 🦄💜🙏🏼🌟
Been following your journey for a long time and everytime you amaze me! You have worked so hard and can now get even deeper in your healing. It is truly beautiful to watch you! Much love
Do you think once you've finished the first pass through of the crafts you could revisit each category to see if you have an overabundance in certain bins? Love your videos, especially the explanations ❤
@@ahoardersheart do you plan to wait until you finish to donate or take a little at a time. I have a hard time taking a little at a time because I feel better seeing a bigger pile, but people keep telling me to do it the other way
I have a lot of sewing supplies that I think I will make something of someday. I love all the projects in my head, but I am realizing that there are not enough somedays in my life to do them all. I am gradually downsizing. Congratulations on decluttering your crafts. I am inspired.
You can always donate most of your craft supplies to a senior's center or a non-profit summer camp for kids. This way, you can downsize to almost nothing without feeling guilty. Nevertheless, you are doing a great job! 👍
Me too. When I turned 60 2 years ago, and watching my mom get dementia at about 82 years old, part of my brain started telling the other part that hey I might have 20 years left of being able to do projects but I have about 100 Years of projects left. And all those excess piles of projects are weighing me down and leading to feelings of anxiety and discontent. So I've Been working on letting go of things these past two years but I have so much more to let go of!
Hi. I‘curious if you have a bin in each floor for recycling? Having a recycling bin in the laundry and in the basement have changed much for me. So I can easily put something in the recycling whiteout having to go to the garage. ❤ so I do not put recycling down on flat surfaces 🎉
I love watching the basement videos, because in every video you pull out something that I also have held onto. One time is was the same sticker sheet from 20 years ago, this time it's the pile of printed sailor moon pictures. Except I had a color printer, so its the colored version. I recognized those same Sailor Moon pictures! I to love my crafts, and your videos have encouraged me to start going and getting rid of some of it. I also held onto shimmer packaging!
