Thanks, for the video. As the happy owner of a 2019 CX-5 Signature, I still prefer the CX-5 over the CX-50 for several reasons. One being the 40/20/40 split seats and that it has an IRS and is built in Japan and better quality/less cost cutting and it costs less than the CX-50. I'm still very interested in seeing the proposed CX-50 hybrid model when it comes out.

I got the exact same car with the same color. It is a fantastic car to drive. The handling is amazing and it has so much torque at the low-end. Not to mention that I’m getting 33 mpg at 80 km/h on premium gas.

I hope they don't discontinue the cx5. Just make it better. Don't care for the cx50...

I recently purchased an AWD turbo and didn’t regret it. In my opinion, despite the signature. The premium plus is the one to go for if you don’t want the extra horses and barely could tell a difference. The signature S turbo has some better leather and wood dashes for a couple extra thousand. Which I don’t really find it worth it. Many experts and dealership salesperson would agree that the turbo trim is the best for your buck. The only thing I’m struggling is the wireless phone charger is kinda hard to use. Had to take my Samsung out of the case so it doesn’t slide out of the charging staying cause it’s not angled 90 degrees on the platform, but on a slope. I don’t know why they would do that. You have to use 93 octane premium gas to have the max performance at 256 horsepower and 320 torque. Paint on the metallic is kinda thin so I went for Jet Black color. Has sunroof or moonroof. Great bright headlights. Premium sound system in the top three trims, 10 Bose speakers. Loving them so so much! Acceleration and speed is shown and reflected on the drivers side of the windshield. MyMazda App can start engine and lock / unlock cars. Navigation system is installed. Don’t buy the SD cars from the dealership! I repeat don’t buy it from the dealership! They charge about $450-$500 for quick installment! On EBay and Amazon… you can get it for under $50 😅 and do it yourself. Just install or insert the chip in the centerfold of your Mazda. Make sure to get the right one! Check numbers and models for compatibility. Other than that, great Overall for my money this car will be a great investment and fun to drive! It feels like driving an Audi or a BMW. It’s amazing!

@@GTGarageTalk No not yet Thank Goodness, but I have 3M protective film on the whole hood, front bumper, part of the front fenders, mirror caps & door cups. Because the paint is so soft I noticed it really shows swirl marks, but at least those can be polished out. I'm just scared to take it on gravel roads. Overall I love the vehicle though, Nicest vehicle I have owned!!!

I just bought a CX-5 last week. It's Made in Japan, Hiroshima actually. The CX-50 is made in Alabama. While I generally want to buy American, there's no one here who's going to build a car better than the Japanese.

    • @GTGarageTalk
      @GTGarageTalk  ปีที่แล้ว

I feel your sentiment is a bit outdated. Brands like Honda lead the “made in America” list and also hold a high reputation for their build quality. Many manufacturers have moved their production for stateside vehicles here to our shores.

Got the 2023 signature in white. The only gripes:
-Wish I could get the white seats-nice to have in the sunny south
-Ventilated seats have an air header that runs up the outside edge of the front seats along the thigh, making them stiffer and less comfortable on long rides
-OK gas mileage, not great. Give me 30+ mpg or give me a bigger tank
-Clunky and primitive infotainment. Think Fred Flintstone.
-Kinda iffy lane keeping-Hyundai has them beat by a wide margin
-A little bit too much torque steer at full boost
    What I really like:
    -Very safe vehicle
-Behind only Toyota/Lexus and Honda/Acura in lifetime cost of ownership (reliable)
    -Proven turbo and drivetrain
-Non CVT-prefer old school reliability and simplicity
-Bose sound is very well done
-Very quiet cabin-surprising how a quiet car reduces driver stress
-Panoramic 360 degree cameras for backing up
-Good headlight beam width and depth coverage
-Speed limit marker on the MPH gauge, on the HUD and on the dash
-The HUD is full of great info, including turn-by-turn fed from the Nav
-The Sirius XM: 3 free months of music, 3 years of free Nav assist. I haven't fully explored this yet, but what I'm seeing I like.
    -Precision handling without being stiff
-It's a luxury SUV, with a luxury feel. I've ridden in Mercedes and BMW (I work for BMW USA), and at least when new, the ride quality is very comparable to their smallest SUVs.
I had a hybrid Highlander, and I'll never purchase another hybrid vehicle. Too much tech, too many additional parts to fail, and I refuse to play the woke global warming virtue signalling games along with the non-recyclable lithium battery.
It takes 500.000 pounds of ore to make one Tesla battery. Mined with diesel. Trucked/railed with diesel. Crushed/smelted/refined with coal. Shipped by diesel. Non-recyclable. Pfft.

Thanks for the info. I'm actually looking to find out about the turbo boost in the 2023 CX5 as I don't want to engage without making sure that I'm not making any mistakes and causing an issue. Particularly want to know if I have to completely let my foot off gas primarily when engaging the boost (??)

Turbo Signature = no red badge. All the other CX5 turbo models have it. Not sure why they did that, but I don't really care. What I would have liked is a turbo boost gauge.
