All your bodies really looks the part. A true inspiration to many of us who want a specific body.

Fantastic video, and it now makes sense to me why it is made into pieces like that. Can you tell me why there is cloth tape on those corners when you pulled this from the mold?

Because I used a heat gun in addition for difficult areas (ehilst the vacuum was still running), at some point it was too much, and a small hole was in the sheet (luckily "outside" the body. But I wanted to continue to form a concave area with the heat gun so I had to fix it with some tape to remain a vacuum

thank you very much for making me want to try,
I succeeded in a small body like pan car at 1/28 for mini z after the 3rd try by finishing the sides with a heat gun, like you I also drilled a little but on the outside so usable bodywork, on the other hand a small problem that I have is that I used a polyester putty, I think that I should have used putty for wood... and I think that I heats my mold too much with the paint stripper before the operation, and I soften the zinc paint and the putty which has merged in places with the PC, this costs me a lot of cleaning time and a damaged mold... I don't know about you do you really heat your mold a lot? because your details are really always successful we have the impression that the process works really well for you, for me I have the impression that the PC cools down very quickly, I have difficulty getting the edges even a simple right angle either plate well, I try to be fast but I probably don't have your hands too... I will continue to try to improve and make other molds, it's great, thank you again your bodywork is the most beautiful

It does not always work as good as seen in this video.
I have fails from time to time.
I experienced, that Makrolon seems the best Polycarbonate (for me). I cannot say why, but it works a bit better than others.
      Pre-drying is also key.
I pre-heat my molds only slighly before with a heat gun. A strong vacuum and being very quick from the oven to the mold is also a success key.
And furthermore... it took me quite a while and several attempts until I had my 1st acceptable result.

@@scalercmodels9261 Thank you for your response and precision, I understand that success is not 100% guaranteed every time, but already after the 3rd attempt I am very happy to have managed to get my first body out, I understand that the speed of the gesture is essential, I have already reduced as much as possible the delay between the oven and my installation, I still have to practice to try to reach your speed and improve everything that is possible for me to improve, in any case thank you for sharing all that, for providing us with all the technical points and the feedback from your own experience, I confirm it to you, this allows someone who wishes to also achieve things with this technique ... I follow your channel with attention and admiration. Best regards

Very nice! I always enjoy seeing your results, but it is the process that amazes me the most! I actually finally managed to order myself a 600x400 Euro box, so I can begin to plan a vacuum table, hopefully for this summer, then probably just need to get the rest from a local hardware store, and of course the PC, I also have a place I order plastics, I think they have... I think I want to make a version of a Tamiya Sand Viper, should be a fairly easy one to start with...

Thanks, nice to hear that you are starting!
The Sand Viper should be good to start a trial 👍

Awesome! Do you split the body into 3 major components after spraying it?

The mold is made out of 3 pieces right from the start. Otherwise I wouldn't get it out of the body after vacuum forming. In part 1 you see how the mold was made:
