    I'm a 4th year med student going into Ophtho (hopefully), and I'm starting my very first rotation with Ophtho next week, what do you recommend that I do? What do you appreciate the most in a med student on Ophtho service?

      Exciting! I would say just be curious and offer to help where you can. Typically med students can go and call back patients and do little things to help the attending or residents. You could read up on a basic text like Practical Ophthalmology to get a handle of the basics or even more basic you could read some ophthobook lectures online. Good luck!

    as a medical student, are there any online ophthalmology diplomas that i can do? to increase my chance to get accepted in a good residency program.

    • @doctoreyeballmd7493
      @doctoreyeballmd7493  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No, unfortunately, it doesn’t really work that way. To get into a good residency you need to do well in medical school and on your ophthalmology rotations.

      @@doctoreyeballmd7493 i study in the EU, here they really do care about the activity outside of the university, that's why i was wondering if you know some online courses that can help in my admission. so if you recommend any that would be great!

    • @doctoreyeballmd7493
      @doctoreyeballmd7493  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh ok. I really can’t speak to the EU Programs because I just don’t know that much about them. I don’t know of any online diplomas. There are plenty of online resources that could help you learn ophtho and look better on your ophtho rotations though. An easy starting point is ophtho books and practical ophthalmology. If you read these you’ll be far ahead of most medical students. Other things I can think of for activities outside of med school would be things like ophthalmology research, shadowing/volunteering in an ophthalmology practice, and potentially being involved in your schools ophthalmology interest group. Hope that helps.

    Hello, can you tell me Which is better resource wills or aao i get confused of aao its entire eye organisation I mean can I depend on it to pass my resident exam without reading kanski or wills eye I hope to answer me cuz there are alot of references and little time

    • @doctoreyeballmd7493
      @doctoreyeballmd7493  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      They’re very different resources. BCSC is going to be the best for passing boards at least here in the US. Wills is my favorite reference for ER and in clinic. Aao is good to read A little more in depth and I will occasionally reference it if I can’t find something in Wills. I personally probably would not rely on the AAO website just to pass the boards
