This is a lovely video Holly, and watching it has made my Sunday evening! It just shows what hard work and perseverance can achieve! I bet you are so glad now that you didn't permanently quit! I don't think there is any doubt at all that you have a wonderful career in music ahead of you. Now that you're learning classical pieces you could be the next Nicola Benedetti!
This is so encouraging!! Very impressive to see your determintion and passion, and it just makes me want to practice as well. You've come so far in four years!! Interesting to see the different styles you play in as well, would you reccomend practicing violin in different genres to become a more well-rounded violinist? I have just played classical so far, but I'm wondering if you learn different things from separate genres.
@@JacksterKAS thank you so much for your comment 🎻 When I originally quit, it was because I did not enjoy the music I was playing but when I switched to the pop genre, I found my love for playing and then branched out into classical again once I gained an interest in it. Of course classical and pop etc… are so different so there are a lot of different techniques for both to learn but it it is great to just be able to play in whichever genres are your favourite, because it inspires you to practice and play more when you play the music you love 🎶🎻😊

Looks like you learned vibrato in only about 6 months, I been playing for 6 years and I just can't get the hang of it, any advice would be great. Your going to do great things Holly, your a prefect example of how good things happen when you don't give up, congratulations🎉
Thanks so much 🙏 Vibrato is difficult to explain as you kind of have to figure it out yourself, however there are different types: arm or wrist vibrato, I started learning wrist vibrato in the wrong way at first so I decided to learn arm vibrato which I found easiest. It is tricky and takes a lot of metronome practice too but it’s nice when you finally start hearing it come together 😅🎻

That’s great! BTW have you heard of the Canadian fiddle band Barrage? They did lots of styles of fiddle music such as Celtic, jazz, rock, country, klezmer, etc.

Thanks! 🙏 I learnt completely by myself when I restarted in 2019 until March 2021 when I got a teacher for classical training 🎶🎻🎼
