@@king_recon your introduction to anime is very similar to mine and i deeply resonate to the point it almost got me emotional. Thanks for sharing that. Much respect
A lot of MCs in anime tend to be the outcast type. Usually a social outcast. It doesn't surprise me that minority communities feel a certain resonance, because they remind people of them. They're often the underdog, socially outcasted, or perhaps just undermined and looked down upon that take it upon themselves to attain greatness. To be able to grow beyond your circumstances and be recognised as a great person. And that is a powerful message.
For me, the anime that got me into anime was Sailor Moon, and it changed my life forever. If it wasn't for it, I wouldn't have read and watched One Piece, the second piece of media, to change my life the way Sailor Moon has. Sailor Moon is not just about a story about a girl and her friends fighting evil and having a romance. There's themes of hope, despair, the importance of friendship, family, sacrifices, etc. It deals with dreams vs. duty, self-discovery, gender identity, and sexual orientation (it was one of the first mainstream anime to have a canon lesbian couple), etc. It teaches the audience to be a better person. This series, along with One Pieces, shaped me into who I am today. I can go on and on, but these are just a few reasons why I would still recommend it to anyone regardless of gender and age.
would love you guys to talk about wano, since it's recon favorite arc in one piece. way too much slander for such a peak arc and we need recon and aj to defend it
Would be great if you could have Recon on for a later episode to talk about Wano. Its Recons favorite arc and I know Jay is not a big fan so it could be a interesting convo
When Recon said “Teggen Toppa Gurren Lagann” I started punching my steering wheel 😂 I’m still hurt the English dub isn’t on Crunchyroll no more for my annual rewatches
So I was spoiled on the Ace death however I got lost in the Sabody to Marineford Hype while reading. I got so into Luffy wanting to save Ace I was like WE’RE getting Ace. Then when they got Ace free and we were almost gone I was like don’t turn around let’s go! To then feel the defeat once Akainu got Ace 😭… One Piece is really the goat.
2000 baby here bout time I was 10 Nickelodeon was airing Dragon Ball Z Kai so that how I first experienced DBZ and on namek when Frieza shot the beam through Vegetas hear and his speech to Goku pleading that he beat freiza for the pain and suffering that he caused thier whole race…that hit my heart and became one on my favorite moments in dbz
Man, this is such a great feel good episode from two goats of the community. One of my earliest childhood memories was watching Doraemon. Was dubbed in Malay and i thought it was a local cartoon before even finding out what anime was. Didn't help that Doraemon was in the colours of the Malaysian flag😂. The 80's and 90's as a kid was a good time. Chihayafuru greatness! Still a gem to this day and has one of the best ost you can find on any anime
I unfortunately only got into anime when I was like 17/18. It just wasn't on any of the channels that were on TV in Ireland in the mid 2000s. Sure we had Pokemon, but cmon, everyone had Pokemon so it almost doesn't count since everyone didn't know it was Japanese. But I would have loved to have watched DBZ, Naruto, Bleach alongside my cartoons like Ben 10 and Samurai Jack. It was really cool to hear what it was like for ye to grow up with it in your generation, like 4-5 years older than me. Must have been a special, special time to grow up in
This here rekindled my passion for anime. I’ve always loved it, but this relit the fire of borderline obsession I had like when I first found the dragonball manga
Jay D your videos, always get me thinking about one piece and I just thought of something wild. It was the episode with Zorro and Luffy fighting the mihawk Serafin and I just realize the ironic part of where Kaku is tied up and they won’t let them out of the handcuffs. It’s basically what happened, when Zorro and ussop were handcuffed together, and kaku would give them the key lmfao😂 I just gotta say oda is smart and I love his writing
Rushing home from school to see what happened next on Dragonball Z was Peak you really had to be there… Then being in the trenches on sites trying to watch Naruto subbed lol
I caught up with hajime no ippo last year because i just couldn't wait to see my man Takamura crashing out once more, and shit was great because you get a lot of stuff for different characters as well 🔥🔥🔥
How many of y'all lived with that Christian parent that didn't allow you to you watch anime. No Pokemon, Yu-Gi-Oh, Naruto, nothing. So you had to watch at a friends place or in computer labs or wait til they went to work. I'm a bit late with some series but caught up in the end
Thanks for having me on my brother! All love to the rats!
I've seen your face around reactions and some content, but after this ep you got a fan in me (and i'm 20min in). :)
🐐
@@king_recon of course brother 🙏🏿

You aren’t a real human to me if you didn’t feel chills after Luffy yelled that “JET PISTOL!!!!!!!”
One of the best duo’s. Always heat
Almost 2 hours of my two One Piece 🐐s
This is what peak looks and sounds like
The Rat King and the Coach King
Lmfao Jay being born in the UK and then moving to the state means he's about to be on his 21 savage arc
Seeing Takamura in a dark room in the middle of the night listening to the faucet leak and just staring and getting pissed changed me.
Love this new series Jay and love the love that recon is giving gurren Lagan
