Just what I needed on this horrible wet rainy day in England, was to re-live this epic adventure in the mountains. So glad I came on this trip, memories to last a lifetime and with such amazing supportive company
Cheers Jamie, appreciate your comments, it was great to have you on board!
A truly impressive adventure! What fun that was. Great filming, Tim. I love participating in your beautiful flights. It's grand to have mates to share those adventures with.
@@dmshanks1 thanks Dave, glad you enjoyed it! Look out for part 2 which I’ll hopefully finish in a couple of weeks… after that I’ve got footage from a four day Fiesch to Feltre volbiv to edit…
Beautiful. Thank you so much Tim. 😍
Thanks Heiko, glad you enjoyed it!
Fantastic Tim! Missed being with you guys this time. Perhaps next year! Really glad that it worked out for all of you to meet up in St. André-les-Alpes. Beautiful and aw inspiring as usual.
@@rodragsdale1702 thanks Rod, we missed you too! Next year hopefully?
Great to watch your adventures Tim. Particularly with Nigel, reminds me of when it all started, the 2 of you in 2018! I look forward to the next episode - well done, epic scenery and a journey well told.
Thanks Jeremy, it was great having Nigel along this year even if we only managed to fly and camp together on the first day... (he lost a day looking for, and eventually finding, his phone!)
Thank you Tim for yet another amazing video! See you next year!
Thanks Kuba, glad you enjoyed it!! And yes, I', looking forward to next year already!
The most impressive of your footage, Tim! That's brilliant!
Thanks, appreciate it! But wait until you see the footage from a four day volbiv trip I did in August - that really was spectacular!
I was just thinking about when the 2024 gumball video will come out 😁
@@andrei4d perfect timing! Look out for Part 2 in a couple of weeks hopefully…
Truly amazing. And not a hang glider in sight - where are they all? Says he, having just bought an Atos VQ Race.
Thanks Bill, glad you enjoyed it! And you're right, not a HG in sight... I guess they're not exactly volbiv friendly, however it's interesting that the first ever volbivs were flown by Didier Favre in 1992 and 1993 when he flew 444kms and 1111kms respectively!
Oh, it's this time of the year when we get to wake up in the UK at 4 am and sleep in the mountains over Orcieres in the evening.
Happy to begin the journey. Let's see how it goes!
@@woob31 haha, not this time… hope you enjoy it
As always, great watch Tim
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! Look out for part 2 in a couple of weeks hopefully...
Just Brilliant Tim
Thanks Tony, glad you enjoyed it!
Increíble vuelo 👍👍👍💪💪
Thanks Chu, glad you enjoyed it!! You should join us next year!
@@TimPentreath Wow, it would be great to join you! But for me it's impossible... anyway, thank you so much 💪💪💪💪
Great stuff Tim! Do you have a "S’il vous plaît, achetez-moi un café." site??? 🙂
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it! And yes, here's the link - buymeacoffee.com/timpent
Merci bien!
The route i know so well but I've never flown 😂
@@apexjunky one day 🤞🏻
Very Very nice glide 🪂🪂🍺
Thanks, look out for part 2!
Just how jumpy are some of the thermals? because I suspect the camera doesnt show it
@@jumpleadsx2 to be honest it wasn’t too boisterous this year… for sure there were now and then but nothing too much 👍🏻
Great video! What radio and PTT system do you have?
@@torbjornkristiansen1673 glad you enjoyed it! we were using Zello which worked really well. I used a Pryme Mini PTT-Z (expensive but works with iPhone) and a cheap BT headset
Does the extra weight in the harness changed the ergonomic/ seating position?
@@marekmagyar5119 I would say not if you make sure the weight of the extra kit is balanced. I put hard stuff - ie. cooking gear - and as much food as I can fit in the ballast compartment under my thighs, then tent, air bed, sleeping quilt and more food under my seat (replacing the underseat foam), and other stuff - rucksack, 3kg water, walking poles etc in the back. Yes it’s heavy and feels cumbersome on the ground but it’s fine once flying
Aaaaa so coool!
Glad you enjoyed it Franz 👍🏻
Beautifull sights.
41:47 I'd much rather move along instead of thermal over the helicopter ... British establish dominance over the helis with their flying pieces of cloth :D
Haha, better to be above him than below him, and he was quite a long way beneath me...
@@TimPentreath I have also observed the same thing but it did not cause me concern, it was quite high above the helicopter. Well done, Tim.
