he made striker fired pistols popular, and one of the most popular and customisable platforms
Fun little tidbit: the "Glock" in Insurgency: Sandstorm is actually based on the Polymer80, a series of partially-incomplete Glock-compatible frames designed to be finished by lawful home builders in the US as they aren't finished to the extent that they're considered firearms, and thus can be shipped and sold in the same ways as any other unregulated goods within the country; a pretty interesting way to work around trade dress concerns for a game considering the nature of the real counterparts.
Even over a year later, this video (along with many others) is just fantastic to watch

It is the world's gun! It's a gun that knows no stereotype. Military, law enforcement, competitor, civilian, terrorist, gang-banger... the Glock is loved by everyone! It's production eclipses the likes of the S&W Model 10 and even the Browning Hi-Power!
"How did Glock become so popular?"
Marketing, largely. Besides the marketing, the primary advantage is that they're dead simple guns, they're functionally indestructible and they'll eat almost any ammunition you shove in them.
And because it rhymes with a lot of things... LIKE CO - !
It can do anything you neednit to! It'll do the dishes, take the dog out for a walk, fly a helicopter. It can DO anything. DAMN this shit so good ove sold my car, karen took the kids, the US military currently outside my door but at least ill have my cock uh i mean my glock.
AK o' pistols
@@MisterBones2910 Funnily enough the Glock is much better with sand and mud than the AK - the AK has a big open slot for the charging handle.
Eat almost any ammo you put in it...what about .50 AE the rounds used in the desert eagle, actually now that I think about it, it'll probably just destroy the gun itself
