thats the bit he missed out. the twitch employee who showed sodapoppin the game only knew about it BECAUSE of henry stickmin. he apparently checked out their other games, saw among us and convinced his friends to play it with him. so basically, had henry stickmin not been released, that employee wouldnt have checked out innersloths other games and told sodapoppin about the among us meaning he would have never streamed it, no one would have seen the game and the numbers would still be incredibly low
I agree. I always feel like the Henry Stickmin Collection has been a significant part of Among Us’s growth, it has been around longer and has developed such an outstanding fan base. (Especially with all the memes.) That was also how I was first introduced to InnerSloth.

It was released a little bit before Among Us got insanely popular, and considering Puff was the one who made it, there were references to Among Us. I think that the game never being the same each round helps. Different imposter(s), tasks, players, and how well you play each round makes each round different than the one before, never giving players time to get bored of the game as the randomness of each round keeps them on their toes. Not to mention the tense moments of meetings where you have to try to prove your innocence or lie your way out of being caught, which adds to this randomness as each meeting is different but just as intense as the last.
I was kinda "og" downloaded it way back late 2019 because i wanted an offline game, so i tried it played it a bit and i got bored so i deleted it, a year later and here we are i have over 70 hours on this game.
Another possible factor would puffballs long awaited game being released, The henry stickmin collection, especially since in the final episode completing the mission, you can find the entire crew of among us scattered around the different ending with there even being a fail where henry is sucked out of an airlock with the text "Henry was not the imposter" Typed on screen.

If I had to be honest there are 3 things I believe would make among us stay very popular and what I believed made them popular 1. streamer groups, having friends lose their minds being lied to or killed the experience is very entertaining 2. Mods, I think the mods were very well made and gave it the spice to keep viewers interested like town of us 3. updates, if they make rlly good updates I am sure it would always be entertaining to view and play

My sister told me about it a year and a half ago and if you though pubs are bad now it was actually hell in 2019 Everyone would just ignore other people and there were usually about 2 people who wouldn’t speak English. My friend gifted me the game and my other friend to so we could all play it back before twitch took over. I remember back when codes were only 4 digits long and you didn't have to restart your game over and over again to find lobbies. I got it in 2020 but this was still months before twitch blew it up. Game is still incredibly fun and out of my group of friends, I have the most hours with 74.6 hours. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing but I love he game. Obviously the streamers made this game as popular as it is today, but I think the combination of the multiplayer world, mystery, and friends interaction is what sets it apart from the generic “find the murderer(s)” games. This is covered in the video where he covers virtual mafia/town of Salem video games that were of interest to no one. Putting players into a game world where they can interact within it rather than having players simply close their eyes, pick cards, and wait is much more enticing, don’t you think?

It's pretty crazy that it took a global pandemic to make this game gain widespread popularity and recognition. No disrespect to the developers, but I think the game, while well-made, wasn't actually successful on its own, since its popularity was primarily due to forces outside of their control. The drastic drop in player numbers since the pandemic peak really supports this. Personally, I think it's a clever and captivating game. The problem I have with it is that it's a mafia-style social deduction game, meaning that it requires lying, bluffing, misdirection, and a lot of other players. But the fact that I've watched multiple playthroughs on TH-cam is a testament to the game's ability to deliver surprising amounts of entertainment when the right circumstances align.
I still remember when I was the first 13 users who play among I played it for quite a long time until I got bored now millions of people plays this game.

the reason why mc is still popular is because of the multiplayer server hypixel and the gamemode hypixel skyblock which is pretty much a game inside of minecraft this is true atleast to an exdent i mean it has 100k players more or less at all times
On mobile the game is still very much alive. I still play it on a daily basis to pass time and there are still just as much public rooms compared to before. It's not dead game yet like everyone say.
It's not dead, but it has decreased to an average of about 6,000 players. Still enough traction where an update with great marketing attached could bring a ton of people back!
I think the fact innersloth released the Henry stickmin collection was what boosted the game all the way to sodapoppin, after all, when people completed the game they probably looked more into the developer.

I think what really helped Among Us explode was the new Henry Stickman game that Puffballs United made. The Henry Stickman Saga was insane. I wish I could go back to when I played Stealing the Diamond on Newgrounds.

It's pretty crazy that it took a global pandemic to make this game gain widespread popularity and recognition. No disrespect to the developers, but I think the game, while well-made, wasn't actually successful on its own, since its popularity was primarily due to forces outside of their control. The drastic drop in player numbers since the pandemic peak really supports this. Personally, I think it's a clever and captivating game. The problem I have with it is that it's a mafia-style social deduction game, meaning that it requires lying, bluffing, misdirection, and a lot of other players. But the fact that I've watched multiple playthroughs on TH-cam is a testament to the game's ability to deliver surprising amounts of entertainment when the right circumstances align.
I still remember when I was the first 13 users who play among I played it for quite a long time until I got bored now millions of people plays this game.
I used to play among us back in mid 2018 and I was clueless about the game and it’s mechanics but after it got a small boost from tribe gaming I played it again and after a few months I was happy that it became the big community it deserved too
Among us is literally murder mystery but everyone is a sheriff and you have to do some tasks.
Kaif and his friends also had a huge impact on the game

Yes you can stream a game a shit ton with a constant 5k viewers
but sadly a one time stream of 20k will be more significant due to a larger viewer-count (Numbers are just there as examples)

the reason why mc is still popular is because of the multiplayer server hypixel and the gamemode hypixel skyblock which is pretty much a game inside of minecraft this is true atleast to an exdent i mean it has 100k players more or less at all times

On mobile the game is still very much alive. I still play it on a daily basis to pass time and there are still just as much public rooms compared to before. It's not dead game yet like everyone say.
It's not dead, but it has decreased to an average of about 6,000 players. Still enough traction where an update with great marketing attached could bring a ton of people back!
Note: currently an update is already in the testing and tested by Big Boady and his friends

I think the fact innersloth released the Henry stickmin collection was what boosted the game all the way to sodapoppin, after all, when people completed the game they probably looked more into the developer.

Great video! I've been wanting to pick up and stream/play Among Us for abit now since it seems like fun, and I got a friend who does a weekly thing now in Among Us. It's crazy to think that all it takes for a small game to get big and blow up is a big streamer seeing it.

I think what really helped Among Us explode was the new Henry Stickman game that Puffballs United made. The Henry Stickman Saga was insane. I wish I could go back to when I played Stealing the Diamond on Newgrounds.

Okay, but among us now isn't the same. It's gotten boring for a lot of people, and people don't like there new update. I'd prefer among us as a meme instead of a full on game, because people uses it as a meme.

I remember before it was popular, only 2 hayes, you get a 5 minute penalty if you leave during a match, no Starting in 5 but just instant, if too many people leave, there's a sound effect and it won't show Victory or Defeat, it showed you the usernames and red usernames for imposters
my brother and i would play in 2018 whenever we were bored, and i would delete it and redownload it whenever i got bored. i remember how you didn’t even have to put in a code you could just find the name of the server and join the same one. now that it’s popular and my friends are playing i’m getting back into it
