Hey guys if you enjoy my content and wish to support me over on Fortnite, you can use my code "SunnyV3_" (with a three and underscore) in the item shop. Would really appreciate it. Thanks all much love
I would say it probably is dying so much is because all the updates has either op items or a couple days worth of content its not like when they first made the game and there was so much to try and discover like metal for all the guns and the new locations suck to say lazy its basically a worse version of tilted and the old vehicles used to be fun like the quad crashers but not there just dumb like ufos and mechanics and planes the guns are either op or weak like fire bow makes it so you no longer can build with wood then there's the new ar that they added in season 6 of chapter two that has bad aim and the players are all sweaty and toxic making new players to bail on the idea of trying fortnite and old players that just want to chill and not stress while playing there favorite game and the new map sucks i would much rather have tilted loot lake and shifty shafts then any of the new locations in chapter two.
tbh i like those kind of games cuz you can choose how to play (just get into a fights, camping, or just chilling running around) but fortnite just.... doesn't give you that ability which ruins what is (imo) the fun of battle royale games
Now everyone wants to have a battle Royale mode like fortnite that's why I hated when treyarch and infinity ward came out with blackout and warzone instead of making they own shit
i remember seeing my random duo having an umbrella in season 2 and i was so excited coz i thought we would win together, but we landed at fatal fields and team killed me 😔
kuhnekt when I win my first game in season 2 with two mates we were shouting and just happy in general but that slowly went away the more I played it. Sure I was good at the game but I just didn’t find it fun. Now coz of fortnite I can’t really enjoy any br and haven’t playing since season 2 ch 2 came out
The game used to be FORTnite where you would build forts and have fire fights with the other team, now it’s bob the builders castle adventure but bob is on 17 different hard narcotics
@@gunkymcsplunky i don't think its really fair to blame sweats for the death of the game. The game is naturally gonna have more skilled people over time you cant expect everyone to be a noob forever
@@chadcarroll550 notice how before sweats Fortnite wasn’t filled with tournament shit and that and when sweats started to take over the whole game was just tournaments.
“Fortnite was fun when everybody sucked” this is it. This quote you said is the answer and summary to this video. It stopped feeling organic. It also doesn’t feel fair for me to blame ppl practicing in Playground Mode cuz “practice makes perfect” and it’s a sensible thing to do but it changed everything. It wasn’t a game you could just hop on and have fun anymore like a player would literally have to do homework in Playground Mode to keep up with others and the newest meta build combinations.
the game has to evolve with the player base, I like the state of the game right now, you can play fun modes and pubs against complete noobs, zero builds or sweat it out if you want to. Also in other games people dont complain about players being good, like valorant or apex, of course people want to improve and will get better, they are looked up to in other games.
@@claudeheinrich3613 People absolutely complain about people being good at those games. In Fortnite you could get a win even if you just play 2 rounds a day. The chance to win now even if you are a good player but don't know enough about meta / building if you dont play zero builds is close to 0%. In Apex and Valorant it's better as you can get good teammates that carry you to the win. But you also get a shitton of smurfs that are in the top 0.1% and will win against you 100/100 times. Any new game will die as enough people get too good at the game. At that point there is no way for new players to get into the game which results in the original players getting better and better / eventually stop playing because of getting a job / older in general and the game dying off.
Easy solution is remove turbo build and add a build delay they should’ve done that a long time ago but the crack heads wanted to be faster niggas got no chill everyone trynna be the next buggha
@@stuehlchen4535 The statistical odds of winning a game of fortnite in a 100 person lobby is 1%. You can't blame players for being good. That's like saying that sports are lacking in popularity because there are some players who are extremely talented and skillful. You can't blame players for practicing or the game for giving them an avenue to practice. Playground was also fun for just chilling with friends without the pressure of an actual game while playing fun minigames like capture the flag and manhunt, as seen in many famous youtube videos. Fortnite's death, in my opinion, happened later at the end of Chapter 2. Then the game had a resurgence with OG Fortnite and the game is in a good place now. Vehicles were annoying in Season 3 but the game feels pretty balanced rn.
@@Brycicle3d everyone agreed that tiktok was always complete trash and memed on it, now all my friends have that trash,I am immensely dissapointed in all of them, very few people have retained their braincells
Yeah, this game changed a lot with the release of playground and creative. The players started thinking that they needed to be good to enjoy the game so they started trying more than they were supposed to. Before some dude named Timmy or Jimmy with only 1 armpit hair tells me "JuSt GeT BeTTeR, nOt OuR fAuLT yOu ClNDnT KeEp Up" we get it, you joined in season 8 when people stopped having fun, see this from a Chap.1 S.2 players' perspective. We started playing the game for the fact that we could build amazing towers and stay in it and have fun, not to lose 1 pound every match. I just don't see how people can enjoy having minute long buildfights. Hell, they barely shoot anymore, they just overbuild until they're down to 200 mats and box up and hope they get a lucky edit and hit you for 180 and then spam you with an SMG. I just cant play more than 5 matches per day anymore, I literally take day-long breaks. It really sucks that a game you would stay up till' 2 AM laughing with your squadmates and thinking to eachother: "Damn, really hope we keep on having this fun" turned into, "Alright bro I'm getting tired of this imma' get off" and then not play with him for 2 whole days. I really hope Epic Games stops caring about the comp. Scene and puts more effort into us; casual players. I mean, they added cars, great I guess...? It's not like that matters, you might make some friends that race around with you for 5 mins but at what cost? You're just gonna get shot it by a Dynamo or an Aura and get killed in less than 10 seconds. I don't care what anyone says, we all know this game is gonna be super irrelevant in less than a year, and it'll never the same. woag, 110 likes. glad to see people agree with me :)
exentxl I tried to play this game, only to shoot one bullet into some TTV soccer skin nerd, as he builds a 10 ft tower in 3 seconds (probably spends 3 hours a day building in creative). I just leave the game at that point.
@@t2tech225 I agree until that last bit. I'm not trying to change your mind, however I honestly think this game will stay relevant. Epic is making moves to make this game a long lasting one rather than a game thats hot in the moment. I _think_ they're trying to find a balance of fun for casuals while keeping it balanced for competitive players (after all, they do still hold tournaments with pretty big prize pools.) Although it may not be like chapter 1, I think we'll feel nostalgic about current times in a few seasons. :D
For me, the problem with Fortnite nowadays is that one moment you are in a fight with someone, and then the next moment that guy builds the whole fuc**ng city of Jerusalem complete with windows on buildings because he lost like 3 hp. And if you somehow manage to survive squeaky 11 year old Bob the Builder on steroids, you will most likely be killed by a flying shark or be abducted by a UFO or die in a volcano eruption or be completely obliterated by whatever other crap they added. I miss the simple times before season 4. Those were the good days...
I was trying to have fun in creative with some 9 year olds my niece added but since I haven't played in 1 year, I got destroyed and "boxed like a fish" What the fuck
i mean, you cant really blame skill level, the more people play, the more skilled they are, but what i dont like is the toxic community, but it makes sense (this is my opinion ok)
"For some of you 2017 seems like a long time ago"..... this hurt my soul. Feels like it was last year basically.... kids man, they definitely age you quite a bit.
i was in year 9 of high school and was having the time of my life, now im in my first year of uni. Crazy how time flies, nevertheless I will never stop loving this game for what it was in its prime

This game has changed so much, I remember when u could shoot people and they might build a ramp at the most. Now when I shoot people they build a five star hotel with free WiFi and a water feature. This game sucks. Period.
I agree with your opinion at the end. Creative mode allowed people to practice building a shooting relentlessly until they became so good that the average player who just wants to play a few games after school can no longer compete
Ikrrr. Unless u actually played back in season 0-3 you’ll never know just how different and amazing the game felt. Its so sad having played from the start and watching the rise and downfall of a great, unique game gone cliche, cringe and sellout.
The game was an adventure, that's why. You didn't know every single square inch of the map, because the few places you did go to with your best mate were that damn addictive and beautifully simple. Building was advantageous in that you could overcome obstacles with it, build your own cover and if you were skilled even build yourself a neat little base with those artistic windows and corners. It'd take a couple minutes back then, but it made you feel so damn proud. The weapons and items themselves were something else aswell. What do I take? Purple Tactical or Green Pump? Why not Double Pump or why not one of each? Oh my god, you won't believe what I just found: a Gold Scar - the weapon that made you feel like you just won the lottery. This is gonna cause a huge fight in my squad over who gets to have it. The Tactical SMG was always trustworthy, the Silenced SMG was hated but it just felt right hating it, you know? We had Boogie Bombs, Rocket Launchers, Grenade Launchers, Clinger Grenades, Memebows, Chugjugs and so much more funny shit to live for. What strategy are we practicing this time? Are we going to camp in bushes, make a skybase or rocket ride onto the last team? Be careful though, there is a John Wick with wings! In the end of the day it doesn't matter though, does it? Doesn't matter if I have full shield, 50 shield or none. The only thing that matters is jumping around crazy with your enemy hoping to land any hits and that your shotgun does more than 9 damage this time. You wouldn't even be mad if you get sent back to the lobby. Losing doesn't take away from the exhilarating experience. I cannot wait to queue in for another round of Fortnite with my friends. Let's go!
Where has this guy been living under a rock? Epic games has been making games from 1997, I'd say Unreal Tournament is still one of the best games ever, if your going to make a video do your homework.
I remember a TH-camr who talked about the topic of the death of Fortnite when it was still very popular. He explained why it would die, and everyone called him crazy.
Ye for me when fortnite was huge and was trending i just knew it wouldn't last long. Like theres always one trend that wouldn't last long at all. It sucks
These games don’t last a long time because it’s just the same thing over and over again, save the world should’ve been the whole game then it would’ve been even more popular
I think the biggest deterrent for me was losing the old style the game had The old HUD The inability to sprint The inability to climb I miss those things So many of the additions just aren’t good to me
Yea I miss the originality: .It was crazy, but not too crazy to not be fun . Epic cared abt the game and saw it as a game and not a cash cow . The community wasn't a wasteland . There was a lot of collabs but not too much and not too ridiculous like now
@@tomlxyz no they wouldn’t Because the more people improve, the more they play, getting constantly used to the game’s mechanics kept them going, and those at the top of the food chain would feel challenged eventually, inspiring them to get better and so on and so forth I didn’t hate all the changes, but since chapter 1 season 8, it’s been a downward spiral (at least for me)
I was in champion division making montages and having a lot of fun until chapter 2 I didn’t play season 1 barely played 2 and played an hour of 3 I haven’t touched season 4 and quit the game months ago, it’s just not fun having to full try hard every game because of sbmm
@@aerophine yeah but my point is games like rocket league and war zone both have pro leagues but absolute noobs can go in and have a blast without raging and having to get good to even compete
I think that the main reason that fortnite died was because they made the game too complex. Everyone loved the simple early chapter one gameplay but recently they ruined it by ruining and overcomplicating some of the most early and beloved features. They have also clearly sold out, based on the amount of items that are in the shop at once. Edit: fortnite is back because they finally made a good update. It is very interesting coming back and seeing everyone roasting this comment, but I think I need to make the point that compared to its glory days, it is not even close. this momentum will die soon, as they temporarily got some players hooked with the old map.
@@Cobson_GamingYT cuz they fixed the game by downgrading the chapter 3 and 4 bullshit and bringing it back to the game everyone loved. also autistic 7 year olds pretending to be nostalgic exist now.
That moment when you, a default skin, shoot a soccer skin for 10 percent sheild damage and they build the Buckingham Palace with a water fountain infront of you.
Yeah, I'm not sure if it was from the big lighting changes, movement changes, or whatever, but I feel like it may be from feelings of big nostalgia. Cause I still play it, just not NEAR as much, but even I look back on my times from season 4 to about season 8 or 9, and I just feel like I'm playing a different game and I get on, do whatever, then get off, with nothing really taken away from my experience, when I have TONS of memories and feelings from back then.
PvPoof yep I think that this is The problem... Everybody play it like they are gonna die in the real life if they die in the game, it should be a casual game to have fun not a game where every match is a competitive World Cup game
That's true. Most are literal pussies who think they're hard after than one headshot and do not even go to arena to keep their "skill" contained there. Like I'm just trying to enjoy the season and some tryhard legit will beam me once and already I see the Eiffel tower leaning over me. They're most likely scared of getting destroyed by someone better than them in arena 😂
man we was scared of this black knight, everybody who has a skin back then was a serious threat lol, cant feel that nostalgia on fortnite rn because the game graphics just dont look the same
thats becuase of the insane prize pools epic were throwing in competetive events like millions and millions people were boud to play the game 24/7 and try there hardest yano
im a season one day 1 player of the game and after my 4 year hiatus from the game i can definitly say i cant keep up with the sweats and tryahrds, even in no build mode (the main mode i play these days) im only somewhat competetive against the other sweats. The game is too convultued these days and icant wrap my head around the new the mechanics, the thing i said when i jumped back in was "when did they add sprinting to the game?"
I played at Jan 2018 for few months then I lost interest for while then recently when I tried going back into game. It just felt like complete different game to me which made it much harder for me get into it.
im also a season 1 player, and indeed i also think tryhards kind of ruined the experience which personally made me stop playing for a long time, i recently started playing again thinking i would have the same issue, but somehow i dont, i manage to get 10 kills + matches and a good couple wins in a day without coming across a squad of tfues, kind of gaining love back for the game, but definitely not as likeable as the beginning
Bro you haven't played the game in 4 years obviously you're gonna be shit, give it some time learn the new weapons and mechanics and you'll get better naturally
I actually made the joke on xbox before that Fortnite is so sweaty these days that you can shot barely nearly someone and next thing you know they rebuild the twin towers in 2 seconds.
It literally consists of toxic children and people who sweat like their actual life and family is on the line. I’ve been playing since the beginning, and it’s a solid game. The community and more recents updates have steered me away. I bought the battle pass for this season but the first impressions of this season weren’t good so I just haven’t played it a lot. Waste of my money essentially, as I never play anymore.
I switched from Poopnite to Rocket League, I find it easier for me to actually play and I buy cosmetics like Black Markets frequently and play it so much to the point where if I go to Poopnite for some reason, I play like a wet sock, Especially season 1 chap 2, Literally all I did was play Minecraft. The damn game never peaked for me anymore and it's gone very sad and bad. And like you said, the community is also bad and sad. Because of this trash community, whenever I do play, I'm either with my cousin, alone or my two other friends. But they hardly play too which I see the reasoning. Imma go watch Shrek vs Shaggy now
I have a recommendation for you, play some planetside 2, free to play, largest combined arms game in the world, it's not battle royale, it's better, just make sure to find a nice communicative outfit to make your first hours more enjoyable.
Ikr im 11 i want to go to fortnite and have fun and make friends but everyone i bump in to is toxic Plus the game just got boring Its a loop Load Jump to location Get weapons Survive Die or win Load
“you either die a hero, or see yourself become the villain”. Fortnite lived long enough to turn into a game that no longer holds much value in our hearts. The nostalgic feeling and excitement of getting a victory royale is gone. Epic started releasing stupid updates and the community started getting toxic. Not just towards epic but towards other players as well. The game is just so reworked now that it doesn’t even feel like the original game. I wish we could go back to the way fortnite was but deep in my heart, I know that it would never be the same. Thanks for the memories Epic
I remember I got fortnite off of the xbox store randomly before it blew up and it was fun, and I kept playing but I just started losing interest and them I just started to be weirded out when fortnite tried to build a complex story in the newer seasons
Update: It's gotten even worse, guns are now secondary and are a minature part of the game. It is literally a super power testing simulator at this point.
@@Oscarhercules. What they're doing now is alright but the main good part is that they removed the stupid OP mythics and actually made the game about skill now.
What turned me away was after season 5. It was clear every few weeks there had to be something new and removed and it gave me an identity crisis if I really enjoyed playing or not. I was hoping developers would’ve taken the OG MW2 route in making every weapon powerful but most things they added are to never be seen by a player again
Remember when fortnite used to fun and not a giant ad for marvel and impossible to play because everyone plays like they’re competing for 1 million dollars
This is, to me, the worst batlle pass and one of the worst seasons ever. I play a lot of creative with my friend, cause i have real fun there, and no one goes tryharding aganst each other.
The game evolved just like every other game on the market if you couldnt keep up with the rising skill gap then its your fault really epic cant change the skill gap it's a natural thing Either get better or keep complaining about how everyone is a sweat imo the lather options sounds better
@@1mphulse the skill level didn't increase naturally though, creative pushed it to being the most competetive game on the damn planet which is a damn shame since it was meant to be targeted towards teens who had a life outside of videogames Now it's just filled with lifeless 9-year olds who scream "get shit on" after eliminating people that don't even have a gun...
@@extraterrestrialhorse9722 again the skill gap did increase naturally creative is a part of the game there was no outside variable and again if you cant handle these "sweats" then get good or dont play simple I honestly dont really care how you interpret these players at the end of the day they're just playing fortnite
My issue was the no new maps thing. They kept "updating" the map, but the updates made the map worse imo, they tried getting too cute with it, instead of just making multiple maps.
"we like Fortnite, we like Fortnite" so much cringey BS came from this game and just turned it into a laughing stock for loads of players and that only increased and increased as kids became more noticeable....... I enjoyed Fortnite for the first 4, maybe 5 seasons but after that it was a big rip to me.
What Im saying bro, has the most active playerbase of any game on the market. Gaming is generally a cyclical industry, which is why this video is kinda moot.

@Robbo Chaplin problem every game dies, games could die in a month a year ect. Epic did a smart play they realized fortnite was dieing slowly and it would be dumb if they put more resources in the game.
As many said already, it’s not a bad game. It’s the community’s toxicity and lack of skill that made me quit playing. Gameplay also got repetitive and playing against sweaty try hards got annoying
Most games have toxic communities especially free to play games... Warzone has a feature where you’re able to talk to the enemy you killed or killed you for a quick 2 seconds, someone called me the n-word when I killed him and laughed for about 5 minutes while my friend was there in confusion why I was laughing lmao Also I know this is normal in COD but toxicity in games isn’t new
@@teawag that's not it the introduction of creative mode made it so that whoever practiced the most improved the most the progression of the playerbase got divided there was a percentage of people who played 8 to 10 hours a day playing like their life's on the line whereas the rest of the playerbase got left behind keeping a natural progression would of stopped this from happening giving new players and average players the same time to improve as the rest of the community
Great video. It’s very interesting to sit back & review the journey this game has been on after living through it. I know, due to Epic, this isn’t possible, but I would honestly find it very fun if they just closed the game down w/one final month of the game being reverted to its early state. As is the case for everything, all good things must come to an end. But I’ll never forget the amazing times I had playing the early stages of this game
I remember just having fun. Skybases, Towers, Rocket Riding, Trickshotting, but now it's just a complicated game. It went from something that can be enjoyed to a GTA V Lobby with cars. It's all about the competitive scene. All about the money. And 0 fun.. sure you might've made 250 from the game, but did you have fun?
It’s always been about money making because the fan base is mainly 12>, and they’re easy to manipulate. The simplicity of the game back then is what made the game good, even though I still didn’t like it.
Lol you all played it too much. I played seasons 1-3 and stopped until 9-10... just picked it up again and it’s basically the same game. You’re all just burned out don’t blame the game. Take a break.

@CableReadyTechnoSIut I only played it for like 2 days in season 4 and another in season 10, I don’t like repetitive gameplay. I didn’t explore the whole thing but I know it probably would’ve been better if I spent a little more time on it.
I think fortnite is learning from their mistakes. The extra modes added later, the support of fortnite creative, and even better collabs are bringing back a lot of players
i remember meeting someone in fill duos in like season 2 and talking to them during the game. we didn't win, but we still had such fun time. i gave them my discord and they said "do you want to play again tomorrow?" i said okay, and man did we have the time of our lives for 5 seasons. i don't remember what epic did, but i think they added something op and my friend just stopped playing and never talked to me again. man I miss you SkullBoy

@@AMan_629 yes!!! I don’t get why people always exclude season 5 and say 1-4. I loved the beginning of season 5 cause they got rid of moisty mires and anarchy acres(my two worst locations, cause fatal fields was almost the same as anarchy acres, so removing one was a great idea). And added paradise and Lazy links. Felt good cause that was the first big update we ever got since epic brought in Tilted back in season 2. Tbh I didn’t really like the ending of season 5. Wasn’t a big fan of the cube thing moving everywhere. I stopped playing fortnite ever since then. I think that was when tilted got erased(can’t remember).
What went wrong 1. People starting trying as hard as they could 2. Stopped doing the weekly updates 3. Toxic kids 4. Overpower items and weapons 5. Chapter 2
This is a casual case of Hypocrisy from the community as a whole, at season x we all wanted the map to reset , in chapter two season 1 the season was very very long, too long.. but I think after season 1 fortnite has been in the best state and season 5 if pretty fun to play..
Another reason of the downfall is that the community doesn’t know what it wants, they wanted a new map, they got it and now they want the old one again, people wanted no op or crazy weapons they got it and complained that there was no crazy and fun weapons. It’s a mix from bad updates, dumb community and the game getting old
I think that Epic could have made another map and have it rotate like Apex does. The community is also so diverse, but Epic really only listens to the "pro streamers" that turbo build like crazy.
Epic games themselves ruined the game without putting any meaningful updates until they start losing money. And dont even get me started on the cancerous community. I like Fortnite as a game, but everything surrounding it... ruined it
They made a bunch of updates, trying to edge the game towards normal players, but the pro players got annoyee, they had meaningful updates, they just got turned down by the same people who conplain about "not enough updates"
The same thing is happening to Mobile Legends. And the devs are making the game worse and worse every single season, they add broken heroes, nerf them into the ground. They don’t fix their balancing, and only buff *meta heroes*
They’ve realised that they can just invest for money Releasing old skins Tiktok dances Star Wars events Marvel season They don’t care about the players anymore because they know they’ll get more money with these collabs
I remember in season 2 when me and my friend would go to the corner of the map, and practice building as building was becoming the meta, and we got pretty good at simple techniques and we started getting common wins but then they released playground and we started losing more and more, it was getting difficult to keep up with all the advanced techniques coming along and with SMGs making building harder we just quit
I remember a couple years ago, I was at my friends house and he said: “hey there’s a new free game wanna take turns playing?” It was super fun. We never thought of the game again.
Can relate wanted to play with a friend when I first got a xbox one and he said fortnite was really fun so I tried it out and had a ton of fun in duels with him
I started playing in season 5. I was 13 and it was the first multiplayer shooter I ever played. Some of my best memories with the boys came from Fortnite and that was how I spent most of my time back then. I eventually got so good that I'd win 8-9/10 matches I played. It got boring and I slowly stopped playing. I picked it up again in chapter 2 season 2 and a lot had changed and it was fun again for little while. I haven't played since 2020 but it has a special place in my memories for all the fun and all the rage that took place over the years
It’s because cs is the same gameplay where the skill gap is noticeable but achievable, the same aspect (building) that made the game stand out also creates a huge skill gap
There is an even larger skill gap in CS which is created by a variety of different skills which can be honed; far more than the building skill in fortnite. CS also features many of the “playground (or whatever their practice mode is)” aspects in the form of custom aim maps, prefire maps, movement maps, and nade practicing maps, and the existence of these tools that help widen the skill gap has not been a detriment to the growth or longevity of the community, contrary to sunnys thesis.
Joseph Rushing Cs:go is great, nothing to be said about that it is shit. If you don't like the game, you don't like it. Kappa. But calling the game trash is impossible in my eyes until you have put a few hours in it and played something else than matchmaking like esea or faceit.. god i love cs, it made me quit fortnite for good and it was a good change in my life. Way more mature community, and actual enjoyment instead of stress in a 'comp' match..
@MrAlkaline I agree CS is way better; I’ve been playing for a couple years and it’s still my number one game. All I’m saying that fortnite didn’t die because the skill gap was too high (although the lack of a ranked system makes this way harder on noobs in fortnite) or because gamers lose interest in games over a couple of years, since CS has both of those features and is still chugging along after 20 years
Joseph Rushing it is still beeing a very good game, and why? Because there is nothing like cs, when you see a play you insyantly know what is happening, you know if its good or not. The game is also great since there are barely any updates, only bugfixes (not gonna talk about matchmaking and vac ;( , that's why we have good old faceit and esea) and every once in a while a mapchange, like we had on dust.. csgo is unbeatable, it's just lovely.
I slept on that game back in 2017. I grinded Battlefield 4 and had a lot of fun back then. When I first tried Fortnite a year later, I got demolished by everyone because they all new how to freaking speed-build the Burj Khalifa as soon as you shot in their general direction. It got too sweaty too quickly and I lost the motivation to get better.
I also heard about this game early, and also liked in the beginning. I really like building in Minecraft, so I was able to enjoy it even more. But being destroyed in seconds, just because I wasn't able to build that quickly just pissed me off. I thought I would stay in my fort and fight from there. I didn't want to build some random walls jump and shoot and that's it. I was really disappointed. I left the game for some time, then returned when playground mode was released. I played it with friends and I really enjoyed it. It was time for building and for shooting. That's what I expected from that game, so after me and my friends lost interest in it, never touched it again
I used to hate this game because it was cool to hate it, then I actually played it, and it's really good. They constantly update it, have many game modes and creative maps, and actual lore.
it was called save the world mode you need to build a fort and survive the zombie for the battle royale mode you just need a rlly high skill to beat a nerd 9 year old kids
This may be a controversial statement but I personally think that a lot of content creators ruined the game for the casual players. Like just because a famous player wants a weapon nerfed doesn’t mean the whole community does. And it’s not their fault, but they were the ones that inspired the building of buckingham palace whenever you get into a fight. It made the game lose it’s charm. In my opinion at least.
You got a point there, its not fun when a content creator complains about a item being op whilst in the same breath building the twin towers. Not fun encountering those players unless you take after bin ladin and knock the towers down :)
its shit you had that experience but tbh just start a new acc and youll get bot lobbies. bots flood the gmae so if you start fresh again youll be able to get as good as you were. and sure there are trolls but just move on from them. just play pubs and youll be fine
I'm on the "the skill gap rose" boat. I played this game casually throughout season 4 and 5 with relatives and friends and we all sucked, but it was fun because everyone else also sucked and we got close to winning a lot (and barely won any games) which in itself was exciting. I can see how people still enjoy it, especially young people, but as an adult I just don't have the free time to learn to build a whole ass town to kill one person. It was much simpler back then to hop in a game and not worry so much about it. I do have fond memories of that newbie era though that I think back on from time to time.
I completely agree. The rapid building that takes place now ruined it for me. I don’t have the time to practice these new tricks and all that, I just wanted to run around and shoot. Keeping it simple and fun for everyone. Now you either build towers or die early.
Same. I love playing with friends and family, but my god is it annoying going against all of the building. I get that it’s part of the game, but for those of us who don’t play it as much or have time to, it’s not fun like it would’ve been in the beginning. I find it funny that a lot of players who are decent at fortnite actually are cracked at building but are sometimes ass at gunfights. I’ve found myself barely edging out other players that have shown superior building skills all because they can’t shoot at times.
for me its the simplicity at old time the game was just simple and easy to learn there was no wall climbing and sprinting no billions of gamemodes and items with weapones and stuff like the game now is just theres too many stuff going on at the same time so yeah i miss the simplicity
Zero builds is pretty consistent I find, I can play it with pretty much anyone and they can pick it up quick and have lots of fun. The hammers are a little lame rn but they'll get rid of them when too many people complain. Taking the building out makes it easy to pick up but theres still skill and fun to be had
Simple? you had to build tons of stuff in a fight, sprinting and climbing is a piece of cake compare to people building a fortress while you reload, now with zero build is simpler than when fortnite was released.
If you can't wrap your head around climbing and sprinting then you might have more problems then fn,what billion gamemodes? You have builds, zero builds and creative
I was a freshman in college in Fall 2017, and I’ll always remember the explosive popularity this game had living in the dorms. Every night you’d hear nothing but fortnite sounds if you walked the halls 😂
The original fortnite season 1-3 was amazingly well done. Everything was just perfect. Music was on point, The game wasn’t extremely popular so the skill ceiling was low n was easy for new people to hop on into it n enjoy a mundane at first game n then a tense but fair non sweaty endgame. I’ll miss it. Those 3. Seasons, everything at the time was just the best.
You couldn't have said it any better. The sound of the builds, the sounds of the guns were just amazing too, and the endgame classic victory royale win sound. It felt like everyone was having fun and just coming together, you didn't have to be good at the game to win. I downloaded the game a couple months back, and everything changed, the build, the guns, the sounds too, the map just felt so futuristic instead of that classic map we always had. I deleted it. They really done fucked the game up.
Yes, I used to do that, the excitement that I may win and my heart beating really fast, I gave up on playing fortnite in fortnite chapters 2 season 1, I got bored of sweats and people who would build the entire Empire State Building and snipe me
Best times also when there was john wicks rolling around “dont fight them lets camp” now its just not the same it lost the excitement once more kids rolled in and think they superior
This is the comment I been sending to kids who said Fortnite isn’t dead when it is: *People should realize that the game had at most averaging 500k people playing the battle royale mode during Chapter 4 season 4 everyday. Along with below 100k players on the No build mode of the game. With 400k in the creative part of the game. Totaling 1 million players give or take. Same goes with the entirety of Chapter 4 but give or take depending on each season. Meaning Chapter 4 Season 4 in total have 1 million players give or take. But when the OG map came in Chapter 4 Season 5, it went from 1 million total players to a record breaking 6 million players. 3.1 million for the OG battle royale mode, 1 million for the no build mode, and 2 million in the creative part of the game give or take.* *That goes to show how it went downhill to eventually a temporary uphill. Which still means that Fortnite is dead and it will lose its player base once this OG season which excuse the lack of quality Chapter 4 have passes away.* *In Chapter 1 it had more than 100 millions of players give or take playing Fortnite everyday. In chapter 2 it had 50s of millions of players playing the game everyday. Chapter 3 have around 10 million players playing the game give or take. And now it barely can reach 1 million in Chapter 4 until this OG season which hit 6 million players. This further proves that Fortnite downfall still continue and it will die. Heck at this point it is dead. I definitely can say it died after Chapter 2. Chapter 3 and 4 had no story, no seasons, barely any updates, and worst map changes of all time. Chapter 3 and 4 is shorter compare to Chapter 1 and 2. Chapter 1 and 2 was Fortnite still at its definition of peak and popularity. But now, Chapter 3 and 4 shows that Fortnite haven’t been the same after Chapter 2.* *As of now I eventually am proven right considering right now it lost a couple of million players from the battle royale mode in just 2 days after the update. Right now it has below 2 million players playing the OG season instead of 3.1 million. Even the build mode which used to have 1 million players now have decreased. Along with the creative part have also decreased. So now it went from 6 millions players to below 3 million players total give or take.* *The reason is because the OG players who quit Fortnite have downloaded Fortnite to check the OG map. But the unfortunate part of this is the fact that since they quit, they have now missed out on the new mechanics that if they haven’t quit, they would have learn those mechanics by now. Such as sprinting, mantling, sliding, building, and so on. The moment they redownload Fortnite, the moment sweats and the game that the OG players haven’t played in a long time had eventually made them quit the game.* *Now it is official that Fortnite leakers have said that Fortnite isn’t actually bringing the OG Chapter 1 map to the fullest extent. They are not going to bring back the volcano, the infinity blade, the temple at the volcano, the castle from the snow biome, and much more. Meaning this isn’t even an OG Fortnite map. Just a worst ripoff. Why even claim it OG when it is not OG? They should name it “Fortnite OG Ripoff” and not “Fortnite OG Season”.* *So in the end, Fortnite downfall still continue and this video still aged well. Fortnite by many reasons is dead.*
@@SpokeNyan1390 bros yapping currently 3 days after the release of c5s1 there are 3 million current players. fortnite has had over 200 million active monthly players throughout 2023. the game isnt dead its just that most of the playerbase is little kids
I remember back when my friends and I used to build castles with doors and windows in the battle royale mode. We also did treehouses, turned a normal house into a base, it was awesome. But then the game got too competitive, and whenever I tried to do it again, sweaty ten year old Timmy would come and one pump me in the face.
I remember staying up to 6am in tilted towers around the map building things without getting shot down, waiting for the updates every day at 4am. Now its so different and I don't get the same feeling anymore
The adding of bots was also a massive mistake by Fortnite that wasn’t mentioned in the video. It took away the competitive feel of the game. That’s when I completely stopped playing Fortnite
I play fortnite casually with friends and I despise the building system, it feels to obnoxious but i’d rather fight an obnoxious person than a bot, defeating a bot just feels like a condescending win like “Hey, you won! good one lil buddy!”
The game just got competitive, almost everyone who didn't want/could put all the time and effort in the game left. After playing a long time some players will realize that they want to achieve something higher and the rest quits cuz Its just not fun anymore. About the community being TOXIC its usually only the 9-12 year olds and most of them aren't that good, they just think theyre so good because they put alot of effort into basic mechanics that most of the casual players can't do.Or at a very high level of fortnite there can be toxic people to but overall its not toxic.:) You can make alot of friends in Fortnite and see the game as a goal.(and ofc the money) Thats most of the community.
If only epic listened to the older members and not the kids we’d still be playing a semi realistic game without stupid AI’s and rocks that make you teleport
Ya ikr I heard cars where released so I played again but kids kept shooting my tires. I used to be kinda a sweat but I was aware and knew how annoying it is so I teamed with fun people and killed unfun people
When even a big number professional players complain about something being broken, is a red flag. Smash for Wii U died because of two broken carachters who bored the shit out of both viewers and players, Tekken 7 has had a LOT of controversy about season 3 carachters, Overwatch was killed by the adding of Brigitte. And the list could go on.
The planes were SO damn good. I loved them since they were released. Flying them and joining dog fights were so satisfying, and fighting them was balanced too since the planes damaged buildings more than players that are on foot and it was fun. There were always new players around even mature ones that don't screech at you. There weren't Marvel advertisements everywhere and the menu was simple. Whatever happened.
I’m telling you, it’s the community. It’s the constant 9 Year olds and Sweats. Casuals just wanna play like how it used to be played but we can’t anymore
That's for every multiplayer game, people want to get better, you either get better or you can't play it eventually. I quit this game, back in Chapter 2 Season 2 but I still respect the people who play it.
I agree, I was once doing a sky base for fun, but then I was shot down and laughed at. I don’t get it. I was just trying to have fun and I get shot down and laughed at.
Personally, I had a ton of fun up until the 5th season. Then I kinda got bored and only played to be with friends. Then, I quit. I only recently tried it again cause I was bored in quarantine. It is still not very fun. The last time I had fun was the Endgame event since I am a huge marvel fan. But, it was short lasted and the game has not been the same since season 4. Also, since then Epic has been more focused on making money than making the game fun and enjoyable, with more focus on the battle pass than the actual game play.
@@Voltrox You're mad because you're one of them. Past season 2 or three, the game started getting heavily marketed to kids. I work at target and the toy section is filled with fortnite merch to this day. Fortnite gained a cult following by kids with their dances and cartoon graphics.

My man what are you doing here 💀
I would say it probably is dying so much is because all the updates has either op items or a couple days worth of content its not like when they first made the game and there was so much to try and discover like metal for all the guns and the new locations suck to say lazy its basically a worse version of tilted and the old vehicles used to be fun like the quad crashers but not there just dumb like ufos and mechanics and planes the guns are either op or weak like fire bow makes it so you no longer can build with wood then there's the new ar that they added in season 6 of chapter two that has bad aim and the players are all sweaty and toxic making new players to bail on the idea of trying fortnite and old players that just want to chill and not stress while playing there favorite game and the new map sucks i would much rather have tilted loot lake and shifty shafts then any of the new locations in chapter two.

@@t2tech225 I agree until that last bit. I'm not trying to change your mind, however I honestly think this game will stay relevant. Epic is making moves to make this game a long lasting one rather than a game thats hot in the moment. Although it may not be like chapter 1, I think we'll feel nostalgic about current times in a few seasons.
I think that the main reason that fortnite died was because they made the game too complex. Everyone loved the simple early chapter one gameplay but recently they ruined it by ruining and overcomplicating some of the most early and beloved features.
The downfall was everyone taking the game wayyy to seriously and treating it like every match was $1mil it this is why I left atleast

I just play with my friends and try to troll them but when we see a sweat, we do everything we can to eleminate them
im also a season 1 player, and indeed i also think tryhards kind of ruined the experience which personally made me stop playing for a long time, i recently started playing again thinking i would have the same issue, but somehow i dont, i manage to get 10 kills + matches and a good couple wins in a day without coming across a squad of tfues, kind of gaining love back for the game, but definitely not as likeable as the beginning

Waste of my money essentially, as I never play anymore.

“you either die a hero, or see yourself become the villain”. Fortnite lived long enough to turn into a game that no longer holds much value in our hearts. I eventually got so good that I'd win 8-9/10 matches I played. It got boring and I slowly stopped playing.
I picked it up again in chapter 2 season 2 and a lot had changed and it was fun again for little while.
I haven't played since 2020 but it has a special place in my memories for all the fun and all the rage that took place over the years
Sunny: fortnite may have been mishandled, but a large part of the decline is that gameplay gets boring over time. *20 year old CS kicks down the door*

Damn, I remember the time when I thought Fortnite was just you building a fort and surviving for the night.

Relatable
it was called save the world mode you need to build a fort and survive the zombie for the battle royale mode you just need a rlly high skill to beat a nerd 9 year old kids
I remember when I thought shield pots were items that you drunk in a fight to protect yourself with a shield power up briefly... I don't know why

Not fun encountering those players unless you take after bin ladin and knock the towers down :)
i personally quit the game when bulding was buffed. it wasnt fun to play against ppl building eifel towers withing microseconds
its shit you had that experience but tbh just start a new acc and youll get bot lobbies. bots flood the gmae so if you start fresh again youll be able to get as good as you were. and sure there are trolls but just move on from them. just play pubs and youll be fine
Yeah nah this game sucks ass now
They lit vaulted every OG weapon so imo its Just a copy of warzone now lit free fire better than this shit
Learn how to hide
@@Coach-wllt-11-04 Pat yourself on the back while you're at it lol
Honestly, i think that if epic didn't add playground, someone else would eventually.

I would argue that the 4th is also here, but after that it's went total bullshit.

Yes, I used to do that, the excitement that I may win and my heart beating really fast, I gave up on playing fortnite in fortnite chapters 2 season 1, I got bored of sweats and people who would build the entire Empire State Building and snipe me

Yo can we just like go back to season 4 or somethin

This is the comment I been sending to kids who said Fortnite isn’t dead when it is:
*People should realize that the game had at most averaging 500k people playing the battle royale mode during Chapter 4 season 4 everyday. 3.1 million for the OG battle royale mode, 1 million for the no build mode, and 2 million in the creative part of the game give or take.*
*That goes to show how it went downhill to eventually a temporary uphill. Which still means that Fortnite is dead and it will lose its player base once this OG season which excuse the lack of quality Chapter 4 have passes away.*
*In Chapter 1 it had more than 100 millions of players give or take playing Fortnite everyday. But now, Chapter 3 and 4 shows that Fortnite haven’t been the same after Chapter 2.*
*As of now I eventually am proven right considering right now it lost a couple of million players from the battle royale mode in just 2 days after the update. Right now it has below 2 million players playing the OG season instead of 3.1 million. Even the build mode which used to have 1 million players now have decreased. Along with the creative part have also decreased. So now it went from 6 millions players to below 3 million players total give or take.*
*The reason is because the OG players who quit Fortnite have downloaded Fortnite to check the OG map. But the unfortunate part of this is the fact that since they quit, they have now missed out on the new mechanics that if they haven’t quit, they would have learn those mechanics by now. Such as sprinting, mantling, sliding, building, and so on. The moment they redownload Fortnite, the moment sweats and the game that the OG players haven’t played in a long time had eventually made them quit the game.*
*Now it is official that Fortnite leakers have said that Fortnite isn’t actually bringing the OG Chapter 1 map to the fullest extent. They are not going to bring back the volcano, the infinity blade, the temple at the volcano, the castle from the snow biome, and much more. Meaning this isn’t even an OG Fortnite map. Just a worst ripoff. Why even claim it OG when it is not OG? They should name it “Fortnite OG Ripoff” and not “Fortnite OG Season”.*
*So in the end, Fortnite downfall still continue and this video still aged well.

The adding of bots was also a massive mistake by Fortnite that wasn’t mentioned in the video. It took away the competitive feel of the game. That’s when I completely stopped playing Fortnite
I play fortnite casually with friends and I despise the building system, it feels to obnoxious but i’d rather fight an obnoxious person than a bot, defeating a bot just feels like a condescending win

That’s bullshit everyone could see the game getting worse with the weapons and ur rlly gonna tell me planes were a good addition to this game
