This is the Squier Affinity Strat in a beautiful Race Green color. After giving it an extensive setup it plays like a guitar worth far more than the $80 I paid. Affinity Series are pretty good guitars for beginners, although you can find a lot of better guitars in their price range. If you need an "original" Strat style then it's a nice one if you're just getting started playing guitar.

Not just for beginners. I’m a seasoned player, owned over 8 electrics varying from American Fenders to Parker, Washburn, Peavey, etc. and this is my favourite.

@@_Corndawgg in Canada, this guitar is $569.99 for the flamed maple top (the version I have). It’s up $100 in the last year. To say it’s ‘targeting’ beginners means the company is actively promoting it as such. I don’t see that, at all.
In fact, every video I’ve seen of the Affinity series is by professionals. Not just testing, but buying for their collection. That is why I’m questioning the narrative: lower prices no longer mean inferior quality or just for beginners, and these guitar companies have intentionally removed any mention of such.
They’re simply affordable guitars. Not beginner guitars. Affordable. There’s a difference.
Also: in the last few years, I’d say overall that Squier’s quality control surpasses Fender’s. A lot of reviewers on TH-cam agree.
So, beyond price, if playability, sound, and feel are on par or surpassing more expensive guitars, why say “For beginners, I think this is a good guitar.”?
I don’t believe that’s an apt description of these incredible instruments. Double the price, and people would still have positive feedback.

Would love to see your take on the new Squier Debut Series. Appears to be Amazon-only and is very mysterious all around - not on the Fender website, no big rollout, etc.

I have the squier bullet strat it’s insane
I didn't start playing guitar until I was 28 I'm 58 now in a few days do you remember The Squire electric guitar called The Squire II I bought one of those guitars used an absolutely loved it there was no pickguard it was HSS and it had one Volume One Tone that guitar rocks I think I gave $150 for it use that a local guitar shop where I grew up I was looking for another one of those recently I always regretted getting rid of it now they're not 150 bucks now they're upwards between 375. And 550 plus shipping depending upon its condition now I really regret getting rid of it
I've never played a Squier II. Those were made just before my time. Hope you find one again!

It's nice but the Yamaha PAC112V is my favorite of the cheap ones I've played. Doesn't mean it's the best though
