    Love what you're doing, You can remove a fair bit more CO2 and H2S if you replace the small container of bleach solution with 20' plus of the same see thru tube that you're already using, just wrap it around a cylinder to keep it tidy and the gasses have to travel through WAY more water increasing the absorption.

    Your Setup seems like the best diy biogas setup. I need to post this on the relevant OSE Wiki Page.

      Bleach is not a good solution for the CO2 issue. I'd reckon for a membrane but I myself have no clue where to get one. I'll go ask some experts.

    Hi about the scrubbing trough bleach water.
    What does it filter out exactly and also what is your ratio of bleach to water?
    Cheers!

    Have you tried maybe a 5l plastic water bottle for your steel wool and scrubbers ? You can see through them dunno how well you will get a gas tight seal on them but.

    Hey dood, watched most of your films and built one. First gas today! Cheers for all the knowledge. Interesting fact…damp wood ash absorbs co2 and turns to aggregate. I think this could be good as it is not soaking the gas? Also have you ever used a fridge compressor to bottle the gas? Loved your film about the water heater too. So just to be clear, biogas will run cooker, boiler, generator and vehicle? So excited! Cheers. Tanc

    I am a little late to the game, I read a study once and if I remember correctly it was using waste chars from pyrolysis in wood gasification. Seems to me you can remove your impurities by simply running your gas through a canister of activated charcoal or any type of bbq charcoal. I know it works for hydrogen sulfide.

    The h2s scrubber looks good! But I don't think you will be removing very much co2 with that setup.
    If biogas is approx 50% CO2 then you get 500L of co2 per bag and 500L of co2 weighs about a kilo, then you would expect the weight of your scrubber to increase by 1kg per 1000L of gas scrubbed.
    If you really want to remove the CO2 you want to look at water washing where the gas is pumped through a stream of water, ideally under pressure. This dissolves the co2 into the water.

    • @captainotto
      @captainotto ปีที่แล้ว

      Might be more expensive to do that, but you could recoup the cost by adding sugar and brown coloring then putting that in a can and selling it.

    • @uramalakia

      Also, I'm guessin making the containers taller would improve their efficiency, since the gas would pass through more material?

    • @ManoloElCerdo
      @ManoloElCerdo 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@uramalakia A way to notice how effective it is is through burning, impurities in the gas will make it more red and burn less time, the more blue your flame is, the most methane there is in your gas

      I would say yes, that way you don’t have to change as often, even I would like bigger, I was almost going to go with clear 12 litre water jugs, but the were round and the grommets may not have sat nicely, I can always make new ones in the future
