This is one of my favorite of his songs -- and that's no small compliment. The sensitivity and nuance he brings to everything he does is exceptional. It's as if he's walked in a million different shoes.
It sucks chris Stapleton came out in a time of “pop country”. I think his voice is amazing. I sing his songs at karaoke all the time. He’s one of my modern favs
I don't care when he debuted. In my opinion, he'd have blown away 99% of the performers that have ever gone on a stage. A true once in a lifetime talent. But opinions are like a......s lol
Absolutely the BEST REACTION to Chris" music yet !!!!! Watching your face during this song was priceless. I'm a Kentuckian and so is Chris. Thanks for appreciating him as much as we do. I'm old but I know great music when I hear it . I also have followed your channel for a long time. You really do a great job. Blessings
2 of my favorite nuances of this song are 1. The way the vocals and guitar go back and forth so it seems he's having a conversation with it, since on death row you wouldn't have anyone else to talk to, and 2. The way the instrumental drags out at the end so you feel the passing of time like the ticking of a clock
Yes his voice is amazing and so is he. He was down in Ky helping the flood victims. He got right into the dirty work with his hands. If we face the harsh side of reality we are all on death row. Have been from the day we were born.
I love every Chris Stapleton song I have ever heard, but I must admit this was the first time I have heard this song. It was interesting to have my first reaction to it the same time as watching your first reaction to it. They were very similar. He never ceases to amaze me. Thank you, MrLboyd for introducing me to this awesome song!!!
I have been trying to get my 13 yr old to like Chris, and he has slowly been sucked in. He doesn’t want to admit that he likes him. But when I have him on in the car, I can see him tapping his foot and bobbing his head!! And Chris is just as good in concert! I got to go see him for my birthday this summer
Mr. Stapleton can do no wrong musically...ever. Have you reacted to his songs Broken Halos, Daddy Doesn't Pray Anymore, or Millionaire? Those might be songs you'd like.
I love in the beginning of the instrumentals when you can hear the creaking of the gate opening and shutting and the dragging of the chains on the way to death Bro
Hey have you ever thought of doing a top 10 songs you've heard this year? could be a fun video Love this song too and heard it the first time because of you
Love the sound of the steel wheels of a train on the rails in the background. So many prison songs talk about that sound, just teasing them in their confinement.
You nailed it; the song is cinematic! Al Green, BB King, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Prince, Chris Stapleton -- they all let you know that God digs great music, too. I'll check out Ronnie Ratke (sp?) on your recommendation now. 👍
Cannot listen to this without doing "the ugly face"... where he hits that nerve with all the pain he has to throw at you... easily my top three CS songs... and his leaving his beloved Morgaine out on this was critical... he needed to be alone in this cold, stark space... Insane writing and performance and criminally underappreciated. Now... for something fun... look up NPRs Tiny Desk and Chris... you will get to see him perform with his Love and watch their interaction. Even on the big stage... I believe she is watching for his cue but she is also a woman in love with a man who absolutely loves her. Not a react vid.. just a "you owe yourself this" vid. Peace!
Man, I never see anyone react to his tune “Drunkard’s Prayer”. It’s a damn shame.. Great song, which highlights his voice, as the music is very simple, and almost an afterthought. I’d highly recommend it…
Life long rock guy and I've always appreciated the blues but not until I heard Chris did I understand it on a certain level. Which is weird because he's fused country, blues and R&B.
I just love your reactions... great job! Check out Leslie Jordan's song featuring Chris and Morgane Stapleton doing "Farther Along". Just amazing song bring your tissues your gonna love it.
I was in West Virginia for a crossing with my fraternity, the divine 9 kappa alpha psi. Wall stemming and waiting for the elevator I heard this song. Let me make myself perfectly clear. I am from Orlando Florida. I happen to play football in what you do. And while wedding on the elevat a Cleaning personnel had the song playing on Her cart. I'm not a country music fanatic. However uncle luke ways me down in florida. But the hell, you say this. Grab my attention to the point I had to turn around and get the name And the artist of the song.. Don't know ifu have anyone in your family On death row for life turn? Florida. I have people that have life because I'm from Florida. This is not an excuse it is a fact. For you. Do not have the depth of knowledge to understand this? This Is a business... when You hear him say when you see a look up to the sky. And you can't see the sky, there is no freedom. On deaf road when you hear him talk about the fact that he tell Jesus everything, Society has already made a decision about his life..He knows when he marketed dates off the calendars as to his time for him to go his death row... This is a sad truth about people who have been wrongly convicted, Also for those who have Committed true crimes.. This is a sad but true songs that has touched The lives of both cultures. I'm a all American football player in West Virginia. I've done things but I just did not get Caught. like many of you.
"Chris Stapleton is a perfect being". Truer words have never been spoken.
This is one of my favorite of his songs -- and that's no small compliment. The sensitivity and nuance he brings to everything he does is exceptional. It's as if he's walked in a million different shoes.

I love the subtle guitar that he brings in. It doesn’t overwhelm but adds to the overall feel.
fact. he did the same thing during the Super Bowl National Anthem

By far one of the best songs I've ever heard. Not just by Chris, but anyone, ever.
This has been an unexpected favorite of mine for awhile now. Lyrics, beat, and vocals are just too good. He just doesn’t miss.
Yes his voice is amazing and so is he. He was down in Ky helping the flood victims. He got right into the dirty work with his hands. If we face the harsh side of reality we are all on death row. Have been from the day we were born.
Chris has always said this is his favorite song!
Yes sir, I've been waiting for you to hit this joint for minute...

I agree. Chris Stapleton is in a league of his own. Great reaction
This was the very first song I heard of his. Lord help me, I was astounded!!
I can't explain how cool it is we both really like Chris Stapleton.
You looked as if you had an electric shock when Chris started singing.😄
My thoughts exactly!😄😄
I specifically love to watch your specific reactions!

Haha...I think reacting to Stapleton is the only time I see you TRULY giddy and loving the musical moment. Cheers!
One of my favorites.
Great work keep it going
I dont think you have ever reacted to "what are you listening to". The live version is phenomenal.
He did. Go to the playlist.
I think the beat of the song represents his heartbeat. It beats , and then it stops!😢❤
Mr. Stapleton can do no wrong musically...ever. Have you reacted to his songs Broken Halos, Daddy Doesn't Pray Anymore, or Millionaire? Those might be songs you'd like.
There's only one thing wrong with this song,it's not long enough!!
Chris Stapleton is the man!!
My guy is the stuff y'all watch his reactions
My favorite song of his
Best reaction to this song ever. So awesome.
Soul reaching....brilliant!
The sound in his VOICE, Is so INTENSE
And dont forget he plays lead in all of the guitar on all of his songs.. All the riffs are him, to play and sing like that is truly a gift from God
Simple but Deep ass lyrics... Chris is definitely Generational talent ... Check out his Bluegrass side ... If it hadn't been for love ... It's Fire 🔥
He also has some good BB King also that's Fire 🔥

Very haunting..love it!!
You should listen to him singing Whipping Post, wow. I think it was at a tribute to the Allman Brothers, Greg Allman was sitting in the front row.
Can’t believe you haven’t listened to this one yet!!!
