Man oh man, thirty years now. Incredible. And so much has changed. If you watch an episode from 1997 and then compare it to an episode from 2017 you will see that the details in the backgrounds in recent years are _dramatically_ different, and so much improved. Fantastic details compared to the older seasons. That also goes for the show's lighting design and colors (there are so many colors in one episode nowadays); much improvement. I'm part of the American population that watched the original cartoon shorts on "The Tracey Ullman Show" (a terrific variety show which we'll probably never see streaming because there was so much music performed in it that it would cost a fortune to broadcast again) back in 1987, and saw the characters get their own wacky series on Sunday night. I would love to see some sort of in-depth documentary or special about "The Simpsons" that covers *everything* : its humble beginnings, why the Tracey Ullman Show animation colorist and cel painter Georgie Peluse chose yellow for the skin tone (I know the answer, do you? It has to do with the kids' hair), what's done in South Korea compared to California, etc. And I'd adore seeing a video of an actual Table Read from an episode-- that'd be my "Holy Grail" of Simpsons coolness. Finally: I am delighted at the recent Disney+ streaming service debut, because-- along with their classic films and cartoons, and Star Wars films/shows-- I can enjoy the best animated series ever made. Life just got a little better. Mind you, the earlier seasons' episodes have been cropped/stretched to be the 16:9 rectangle ... but I'm not going to fuss too much about that.
At 0:53 if that's the artist's home, than it's a beautiful house. This will serve as exhibit A proving as a commercial artist you can earn a proper wage.
I wonder what software they use to draw the characters n' such. I know they use Toon Boom for the animation but what are they using to draw the characters before the animation process?

The Simpsons is hand drawn completely on Paper or Cintiqs. Then the paper is scanned on a computer then colored. Then it is put in Adobe Premiere and they put in the sounds.
They don’t predict anything. There’s a been a few coincidences but it’s not like they expect this stuff to happen. Social media makes you think they can predict everything.
