It's far simpler, if you're an Android user, to install and app called LTC Timecode Generator and sync all your timecode compatible devices via a 3.5mm audio cable. It's fast, reliable (holds the time well) and is easy to sync in whatever NLE you use. I use this app and haven't had an issue to date and saved heaps by not buying say a Tentacle Sync set.

Can you use a bluetooth timecode generator with multiple BMPCC 6k/6k Pros? ie the Bluetooth Timecode generator on the zoom f6 or the ultra sync Blue to multiple cameras?
so... how does the timecode feature work on the Pocket? Does it jam w TC sent to the the audio input, or does it just record the timecode audio signal and that needs to be converted in post? TIA

Yeah. Timecode is way more reliable. It also is way more flexible. The cameras and audio recording you’re syncing may all be pretty far apart and not recording similar enough scratch audio to sync. For instance, say you’re recording a band. You may want a recording out from the audio console into an audio recorder. You may want a couple cameras up in a balcony. And you may want a couple cameras on stage or near the front. The scratch audio from each camera miiiight be good enough from all points of the room to allow for an auto sync. But do you really want to risk it?
@@rikorobinson no problem. I was also recording a documentary yesterday and the main character we had a mic on, always recording with timecode to a pack she kept on her. We had a dedicated boom operator and multiple camera operators. But there was a part where she was saying something to her crew that sounded important but none of the crew was there to get it. I was kinda far away but the only one with a visual. I have no idea what she was saying. I wasn’t close enough to her to hear, let alone for the camera to pick up audio. So syncing that via audio would be impossible. It’s probably also not the most important thing to have sync’d per se bc the camera was far enough away. But you still don’t want the editor to get that clip and wonder what the heck it was and then either not use it at all (most likely) or if he did know, have to go searching for an audio file somewhere to put on it. With timecode, my video goes right into the software with perfect audio immediately, even though I was nowhere close to even being able to pick up anything. A bigger production like that just wouldn’t be even possible at all without timecode honestly. But yeah it’s totally situation dependent. If you’re recording a 7 minute video of yourself with two cameras nearby at your house, you probably don’t need timecode. You’ll likely be able to get by on audio sync and then just manually correcting if there’s a failure. The bigger the production, the more important it becomes. But also, once you have timecode, you’ll probably never not use it again for any shoot using multiple cameras. So if I was shooting a TH-cam video in my house with a 2 camera setup, I’m gonna still use timecode. If you ever are doing enough multi cam shoots where you’re making enough money to justify dropping $500 on it, I’d highly recommend it. Especially if you’re also the one getting stuck with the edit lol.
Pretty much! Now, tentacle synch does make it quick and easy making sure everything is synched. You'll have to fiddle with each device to make sure they are aligned properly before hand though.

Wow thq. So i dont need a tentacle to go with my pocket 4k. Just hook the Mixpre 6ii to the pocket & sync.
