I wonder if anything works with the OG BMPCC 🤔 In any case, it's really sad there is no official Android app in this day and age. Kudus to the developers 💪
That's a good question 🤔. You have me curious to check now But yeah, it's annoying how everyone just assumes apple is what everyone uses. I'm more of a windows and android guy, I like the flexibility of building my own machine. Blackmagic has always catered more towards apple users. Makes sense on some levels but still annoying for the rest of us 😂
@@FrameVoyager I agree with you. I'm an Android and Windows guy myself :) Getting a good pc for a better price and having full control of it has always been my preferred choice 😎
Good one :) On my side, I was tired of so many different apps and pairing (for the RGB lights, for the prompter, for the different cameras, ...). I use a small dedicated controller for the P4K, works like a charm.
Smart! It would be nice if someone developed an app that could control multiple devices at once. Aputure lighting, the blackmagic cameras, a slider, audio levels, etc. All in one app.
Love that Android app. Super helpful. One issue... The Bluetooth doesn't extend quite as far as I'd like for pressing record or shutter. If I'm using anything closer to a telephoto lens for self filming, it won't trigger.
Any issues or improvements with the firmware 7.3? Love the contents by the way; if you'd have 2 more zeroes at the end of number of subscribers I wouldn't have been surprised one bit 👏🏻👍🏻
Haven't tested it out yet actually. Will be doing some filming today so I'll let you know if I run into any issues! And thanks! haha I'll get there someday hopefully!
@@FrameVoyager I "had" to get the app and test it out... It turns out that my BMPCC4K was at 6.9.5 aka "the version where bluetooth doesn't work" :D So I "had to" update to 7.3 and pretty much everything seems to work nicely. I'm especially excited about the focus control with my Olympus 1.8 lenses. Thanks again for the video!
The focus thing works with Metabones as well. I would like to try the power zoom function some time in the future.. It’s exclusive for m43 lenses though.
Is the app also a monitor app? I mean can you see on the app what your camera can see or just the plain controller?
Unfortunately no. Just a controller app, though in studio when you use it with an external monitor it works quite well!

@@ElusiveFrame for sure! And such better flexibility with 3rd party products and coding elements tbh.

Yeah, that's just the nature of bluetooth unfortunately. Still with that limited range I love using it in a studio setting when filming alone
Do you know if this app allows you to take stills on the android app?
That is a good question. I'm not actually sure! I'll look into it
Works well for wildlife filming, set up shot, hide, start recording what subject appears.

Interesting, Definitely planning on delving deeper into this in the future. There are a lot of weird things you could pull off with this app
I'm 2 years late but how'd you get the focus to work with Metabones? It's not happening for me.
@@warevol Any more details? Lens, settings, firmware?
This is very useful, thanks.
No problem!
Can you guys remove Metadata of a clip you already shoot with the application??
Hmmm... I don't think so? But that's an interesting thought
Thank you for taking the time to answer me
@@trouver1nom141 no problem!
🙌🙌🙌 good stuff
Appreciate it!
Will the bluthoth + work whit metabones speedboster
very nice very nice
Thanks!
Android slash windows user here...! 😉
You're in good company here 😂
I can't use follow focus function on my 6k ☹️
Man, that sucks. I wonder what the difference is between the MFT system and the EF system that keeps it from working.
@@FrameVoyager I wonder too and it was disappointment because it was feature I needed the most 😔
@@VilkanVisions for real! It's super helpful for my work. I'll look into it and see if there is a reason
Just wish you could monitor the screen from the app.
Same! If gopro can do it they should be able to as well
That's one thing I do like of my Zcam E2c and the app. The UI from Blackmagic and the Android app shown in the video look MUCH easier to use though!
This app is only available on iPad....
The rest of the video: So on your iPhone.....
hahaha didn't even realize I did that. I'm a android guy so really a slip of the tongue ha!
