He along with every justice league member died to a group of d tier supervillains who even the D tier superheroes can beat them up in a fight..
Think I seen something about it being likely they’re clones. Also Easter eggs pointing to Batman not really being gone.
Also pretty interesting that they chose not to treat Wonder Woman with the same degree of harshness. Maybe that is just ESG in motion.

They’re a narrative company so yeah they’re the reason the story sucks, but even Cody said it here the game play is trash and that’s not on them, and for a Live Service game the gameplay loop has to be addicting to the point you don’t notice you’re playing for hours.

The game so good it not only raised sales of PREVIOUS games to pretend it didn’t happen, it led to a boycott of the PR firm responsible for it
I'm convinced this was either originally a standalone game or a tie in to the James Gunn Suicide Squad film that they connected to Arkham at the last minute because it wouldn't sell otherwise.
Let's be honest, this game was DOA ever since they revealed its live-service elements. It was beyond saving. In fact, I knew there was something fishy about this game before they revealed the gameplay.
I mean, playing as Suicide Squad to kill the Justice League? Who asked for this? That'd just be like asking for a Marvel game where you play as Sinister Six against the X-Men or the Avengers.
Well, i actually want to play sinister six)
And this game is actually exist, it is spider-man: friends or foe. Where you can play as every villian in spider-man, like venom, dr.octo, scorpion, goblin etc, like, about 30 or 40 characters, i can't remember.
And it was fun game. But this game was not life service, it will be a 3D beatemup for 1 or 2 players. And maybe if SSquad was a singleplayer game like batman, where you just beat enemies (without guns), just instad batman choose harley, shark etc. Maybe it will not failed such hard.

I love Batman Arkham Asylum and Batman Arkham City. However I haven’t beaten Batman Arkham Origins and Batman Arkham Knight.
I was slightly interested in this game when it was a first announced, since it was a part of the ArkhamVerse.
However, after the trailer dropped by interest went down, and I kept losing interest because it kept getting delayed over and over again, plus the reviews are really bad and I heard what they did to Arkham Batman and because of that I refuse to buy this game.
If I want a good superhero game to play I’ll just gladly replay Batman Arkham Asylum, Batman Arkham City, Marvel’s Spider-Man, and Marvels Spider-Man 2

Knight was okay, combat and open world was peak but the boss battles, Batmobile sections and side missions were so trash
Apex, it's different for all people, i love beat'em'up games, and the batman knight game look very good. It's melt consoles in 2015)). But the reason why i think this game is bad, is a combat system. The "magnetism" power in batman animation is insane, when he teleport to 5 meters from enemy to enemy, it is just sad to see. If compare, for example with Sleeping Dogs which came early, and have the same combat, but don't have problem with animation. So, this game for me is near trash, because in this game working well only stealth, and actually a car fights. I mean, you can like or dislike this activity, but devs make not bad physic, effects for car, transform animation, and especially how batman call his car controlled by autopilot). It is probably will be good to see standalone game about this car, without batman))

Have you played the 2021 Guardians of the Galaxy game from eidos Montreal the gameplay is alright but the story and characters in that game is fantastic
The suicide squad game was in devlopment before the avengers game came out. So there is some logic there. Though WBD now going all in on live service doesn't have logic.
Justice League crisis on infinite earths part 3 is a animated movie that is supposed to have Kevin's last portrayal if Batman. I believe Mark hamil is supposed to be in it as joker too.
A LOT of people hate this, and it's made me never want to play it. I won't like it. I won't enjoy the time I spent on it. It's not for me. However, I appreciate you, Cody, for taking the bullet for many of us.
Since each character roughly plays the same (another critique many have), what would you do to change it? I thought of a few ways...
1. Take the multiverse theory and put it into play. So, maybe you have a Gunslinger Harley, a Hammer Harley, a Beastmaster Harley with her hyenas. That would significantly vary her gameplay right there because you can't play any of those three types the same. You could have a fisticuff King Shark, a Water Master King Shark, a cannibal King Shark (where he bites people's heads off). This is the multiverse! Play with the canon!
2. Add other SS characters. Maybe June Moon and Rock Flagg. Hell, what about WALLER?
3. Take the "Suicide Squad" motif and run it. Literally. Give your characters perma death (and maybe, if you find June Moon as the Enchantress, she can resurrect you if you wish). If you kill Gunslinger Harley? Crap. You better go find a multiverse alter ego to help your party out. There should be a limit to how many versions are put there, but that would be an interesting Game Over system... you let all 4 characters die? GAME OVER. You kill off all the versions of all the characters? Also Game Over.
4. It would be really cool to recruit any Justice League character to Task Force X... by force if need be. Everyone's mind controlled. I get it. But, there's no way to break it?
Those are some of my thoughts.

This game was 9 years in development too😱, wish we had got a Batman Beyond game set in the Arkham universe instead
That was the plan but it was scrapped. Eh I'm happy with what got anyway I didn't watch the batman beyond show growing up. If they were to make a different game than this I would've opted for an Arkham Ghost game. Criminals in the robin arkham episode referred to "the ghost" and people agreed that's what's become of Bruce after Knight.

Avengers ended after 2 years suicide squad died the month it came out look at the steam player count
Steam isn't the end all be all. More people bought the game on Playstation and Xbox.
Unless millions bought and played on consoles, they aren't gonna make up for the abysmal Steam numbers. The season content will have to be spectacular to draw people back.

My biggest issue with the game is that it takes place during the Arkham franchise. Idk why Rocksteady thought that was a good idea instead of just calling it a stand alone game. But I would think that this game would've taken place after Injustice 2 especially if you do Superman's ending from that game's story. It would actually make a lot of sense for those who know how the Superman ending from Injustice 2 ended. But nope, they messed it all up. I understand that the Arkham games belong to Rocksteady and Injustice 2 belongs to Neatherealm but I can't be the only one here who thought this was taking place after Superman's ending from Injustice 2 and got disappointed when finding out it's from the Akrham franchise.
The reason is simple. If you game is super bad, you need to "parasite" on other franchise. Just imagine, that SuicSquad game is not about batman, like, you have 4 robots, which jumping on roofs with hooks and kill enemies robots, and you can buy skins and microtransactions. Will you buy this game? I suppose not. Because the core-gameplay is sh_t. And they know it. So, they need something, to push you buy the sh_t which they create, so they change robots on batman, harley, and other models, and call this game a "batman series", even if it doesn't have any sense, or even don't have batman in game, who care).
I think square enixs Avengers game is better than suicide squad because atleast the core gameplay of Avengers was based on the heroes themselves like Iron Man can fly and use his repulsors and unibeam etc and cap can use his shield snd thor has his hammer meanwhile in suicide squad everyone just uses boring guns
A friend is currently having alot more fun with Ff7 rebirth. Dude made a wise choice.

I personally enjoyed this game. It's not perfect by any means but personally I do prefer the idea of it being an online game, it just doesn't sound as fun being single player with 4 characters attached to the story. Idk, it's just me but I can see why there are legitimate issues with it.
Good luck with Rocksteady changing and going back to what made them great cuz WB is doubling down on GaaS. They said recently that they're going full force in to the mobile and free to play market with their most popular IPs. So yeah, WB has learned F all with this debacle and are dragging every single studio they own with them.

Harley Quinn was the only interest i had in this game. I still don't know if I'll play this. I feel like they made a huge mistake connecting it to the Arkham Verse
And now wb is DOUBLING DOWN on live service games, despite this being a critical and financial failure. They said hogwarts was their best selling game and this game is a failure, in the same sentence. I can’t even, with these executives. We want more Batman single player games, a superman game, and so on and so forth. I would personally love a continuation of the Arkham origins era, since Kevin has passed away.

Some people that when the co-founders of Rocksteady, Jamie Walker and Sefton Hill, left the company in 2022, that when everything changed and you get this mess of a game. At least Capcom learned their mistake after Resident Evil 6. So, unless the next 'season' of SS: KTJL really blows it out of the park, they need to go back to the drawing board.
I don’t blame Rocksteady entirely for it but the game reeks of WB getting its dirty, grimy, greedy little paws allllll over it.
One BIG positive I’ll give to this game is Wonder Woman actually looks like a Greek woman this time around.

If these games were free to play like Fortnite and Warface, it wouldn't be as problematic. But as is, I refuse to pay for a title I cannot play without a functional online connection, especially if it's a low-effort pile of trash to begin with. Screw that noise!

Unfortunately the truth is the heart of Rocksteady and the people behind the Arkham games left awhile ago and started a new studio when WB wanted to over monetize and change their direction. The "Rocksteady" we have now is little to none of those original talented people 😓 I'll be following their new studio and seeing what they come out with
I know technically this is a Rocksteady game, but SweetBaby are the main devs that made this game. Everything we all hate about it they're responsible for. Rocksteady deserves some blame, but sweet baby Inc. ruined this game. They are responsible for staining the Brand. Great video Cody as always.

My wife and I enjoyed the main story but the end game content is the same missions over and over. I've been enjoying Helldivers 2 waaaaaaay more and Final Fantasy VII rebirth is incredible. We might check it out again when the Joker releases on Mar 28th.
I definitely disagree with you to an extent on the story side of things, but otherwise pretty much agree with you. Hopefully one day you’ll make a review for the game my studio is making.
I'm curious which Rocksteady employee was holding you at gunpoint while doing this review. The people who brought us this atrocity are not the same ones that brought us the Arkham series.
Why did the Arkham games have to stop? The demand was still huge, and they were selling like hotcakes. Why walk away from a money printing machine like that??
If they didn't want to continue the story beyond Knight, then fine. But there was still so much opportunity for more prequel stories, akin to Origin's.
Rocksteady’s next project has to be so good if they want the public’s trust again. Not impossible but very difficult.

The Arkham games are my favorite game franchise of all time (Arkham Knight actually being my favorite) and this game just felt really disappointing to me.

I think they were justice league clones, its an easy story maguffin. People like it, yeah they are the real ones dead. People mad about it, braniac made clones of the real ones . Flash gets finger back, king shark able to put on a lantern ring, kryptonite thru chest didnt kill, new seasons add dead characters like joker and luthor.

Yeah, seems like best to do is stick with the Arkham games and ignore this one. At least the Arkham games was fun, which is more than can be said about this one. 😉 Anyway, thank you, Cody, suffering through this, so we don't have to.
Watched the game in full did not play so have to take my opinions less valuable as someone who played.
The game looked bland from combat to boss battles. Shoot endless weak spots to break the guard of a boss. Hell they even copied the flash battle for brainiac which shows the lack of care.
Then you shoe horn in a live service for no reason other than $$.
As far as the games reception it would have gone over slightly better if this game was not in the Arkham universe. Because how Batman’s story ends here feels like Captain Boomerang was giving you a cup of what he gave flash and calling it lemonade.
Had they said this was its own unique universe people would have been mad but not as mad. Overall the game is just bland but did have great voice acting.

God damn brother people know how to hate. I wanted to give it a try though I've seen reviews talking about the worst game ever made. I mean how could possibly a studio that made the Arkham trilogy make something like that. Now it's on sale on PS5 and I am going to try it anyway even with the abysmal ratings because you know people when it comes to popular titles they are getting out of their minds. I am not saying it will be great but video games are not all about stories, and I am betting most of those reviews came from movie fans rather than actual gamers. I am betting that this game is not going to be nearly as bad as people making it out to be.

This Game grossly offended me
1. How they treated Batman in this game was an absolute fucking disgrace and to think this was Kevin Conroy's Final Batman Performance was an absolute disgrace fuck u rocksteady, They don't even explain how Batman survived the ending of Arkham Knight and also they have the balls to kill Batman off in this game 😡
2. They bring in The Justice League solely just to kill them off, i initially believed The Arkhamverse was Batman Exclusive
3. Retconning Deadshot from Caucasian to African American was another Negative, I aint buying the whole Multiverse theory at all, this is probably to capitalize on Will Smith being Deadshot in the DCEU (Will Smith was crap as Deadshot)
Nobody asked for this Game/Nobody Wanted This Game, i guess Batman: Assault on Arkham (2014) and The Arkham Knight Prequel Comics aren't Canon now, because King Shark was killed in Assault on Arkham and Captain Boomerang was killed by Deadshot via bullet to the head in The Arkham Knight Prequel Comics

One of the few times I whole heartedly disagree with you. To me this is so much better than the Arkham games. The Arkham games had good stories but some of the most boring combat in gaming history. Maybe it’s because I’m a big shooter guy but I had much more fun with Suicide Squad than I ever had with the Arkham games.

After SSKTJL fail, WB now sell all their games with 95% sale for ultimate edition. And i buy MK11 and Injustice 2, and you know what i find?)) Look to the past, it was obvious that SSquad and Arkham Knights will be a fail. Because injustice 2 characters look ugly. Every female costume, every female face was censored or woked up for "modern audiency". I never play MK since 3-4, and mostly play Tekken or DOA, but oh boy, MK11 and MK1 remake characters look extremely ugly too) they also destroy faces of all females, and the costumes grind for both games are insane (for MK and Tekken), they add microtransaction for buy costumes, or you need grind it like... forever. And you can't even buy skin, because it's in lootboxes, lol. I know that MK and batman devs is a different studios, but it is all - WB, and i suppose this is a their "politics", and they start do what they do not now, it launch like 10 years ago, people just don't want notice it, or approve it.
So, i buy full version of MK11 and Injustice 2 in bundle for 5$ and... i just waste 5$))
And the most funny thing, that they use 3D scan technology, to create characters in MK, like they scan real people and put it in game, the same like Resident Evil 3 was made (Jill have a real girl model face and body). And they scan all those girls for MK, and than made their models more ugly than real women looks by the reason)) it is just funny. They say that "women should be more real in games"...OK, but why you made them ugly, instead put in game 3D scan of real women which youre cast for game, they look much better before, lol, you don't insert "real women" in game, you made them uglier just because you want WB)). It's fun to see how they burn. I hope people be more clever next time and MK2 and new batman games got 0 sales.
