I’m updating you all on where I have been and why my family are moving back to Scotland after a year and half living in Accra, Ghana. The decision to move was absolutely not planned 😅. The whole point of these journeys(as I see it and am doing also) is to give your family options...we are not JUST from Africa or JUST from the West...we are both and can come and go as we please based on where we will be best situated. Use both passports to their fullest potential - we are global citizens with a base in Africa and the West

I agree with most of what you said, apart the "global citizen" bit of your comment... There's absolutely no such thing as a black global citizen. black people aren't even welcomed in most African countries, regardless of the passports we carry. I'm a British born American with Nigerian heritage, & even i don't consider myself a global citizen... Even after having traveled to 57 countries in Europe, Asia & Africa... Black people are generally perceived by African stereotypes... Once Africa becomes great, black people will be perceived as equal humans, and not a moment sooner!
So true. Like someone said just because some of us are born in the west or east countries and say they're not born in Africa doesn't mean they don't have it in their blood.

It’s not about the weak. It’s about rising to the challenges of a 21st century thriving economy. We Africans both of the continent and diaspora have to stop settling for mediocracy. Having technological and industrial advancement is not a Western thing, is a thriving Global economy one. We are in a global economy whether we want to or not. We can be drivers or passengers . Or not even on the bus. We may need to revisit the colonial lines set years ago. Re-establish a more unified Africa nation and republic. At the very least centralize currency, economic system, and IT-OT manufacturing across the geopolitical lines.

Fiscal responsibility and having money allows one to make choices as your needs change. I want that and will have that. I am actively working on paying off my credit card debt so that I can travel.

Perhaps you should consider 10 minute videos or "shorts" with updates on building your house; readjusting to life in Scotland & whatever you are happy to share of your pregnancy. There is an Andrinka symbol that embodies the energy of flexibility to rock with the twists & turns of life. I don't know the name of it, but it has crocodiles shifting. That seems a great jewelry piece or wood carving for you.

Congratulations on the pregnancy Vanessa!! While you go to Ghana to pack your things, be mindful of the heavy expensive stuff. Do not sell those items as you're building. I moved back to Ghana but had to come back to the States since things didn't work as plan and I ended up getting rid of a lot of my heavy quality items. Since storage was going to be an issue, I actually "sold" a $6,000 bedroom set for $400 and $10,000 California King master bedroom set for $900 and a whole lot of other expensive things to family and friends ( I should have bought a house when I arrived but I didn't and wasn't building at the time too, now I am and will have to re-buy all those items). The people I literally gifted these items to made it sound as if they paid actual price for them, lol. I came back and they wanted similar things from the US, so I went to the store and took pictures of the items and their prices and send it to them. They never said anything about wanting those items again. I say this to say save those that are hard to ship and clear at the port

I would never have the money to buy at the prices she is quoting. Many people in the UK, US or elsewhere do not have such money.

Looks like the TH-cam "moving to Ghana " trend has died now. A majority of the ppl who made the move had to move back to their home countries. It's best to just buy a vacation property and visit from time to time

I remember being preggers in Ghana, it was awful😂 i couldn’t take the heat, the constant smell of burning. I had hyperemesis and that burning smell just made everything 100x worse😅 the only thing i could eat was very dry meat pie and kontomire with plain rice but all i really wanted was a ribena, tuna sandwich and a greggs pastie🤣 pregnancy suddenly made me VERY British.
I’m sure you guys will move back to Ghana when baby is of a certain age though

I wish TH-camrs will just tell the truth! Bottom line is TH-cam has changed the rules and it is no longer a reliable stable source of income. Plus Ghana is very expensive to live if you don’t have money. The pony show is over for foreigners! Hello “reality” is knocking on doors.
