I salute your mum. She is very wise. "I don't know any of them." I wish I could stay there for 3 years, but in all honesty, I don't how I would manage as a tourist or even get permission from the Ghanian gov't to stay that long. I think that the longest one can stay there as a tourist is 3 months. It's a very lovely country. Sure, it has its slums as do most every country but the experience of just mingling with all of the friendly people there is well worth the stay. Stuff at the markets there are very, very cheap...especially if you know how to haggle for a bargain.
