  • Dhanurvedam is one of the World's oldest surviving scriptures on warfare. Much of this knowledge is lost in time. Here is our small attempt to bring back this knowledge into light right from the source scriptures of Vasishta Dhanurveda Samhita and Agni Puranam.
    About Project SHIVOHAM:
Project SHIVOHAM is a micro documentary channel about the distant, forgotten and most importantly glorious past of India. Our intention is to contribute to preserving the heritage of India by researching on Ancient Indian Scriptures in the fields of Science, Technology, Philosophy, Literature, Mathematics etc, and present in a micro documentary format to everyone.
All credits from 6:15 mins to 7:00 mins goes to Lars Andersen's. Do visit his channel here... / @larsandersen23

Very true. Even in a mace fight between Duryodhan and Bheem, it was taught how to maintain war ethics. Pandavs were on the victory side and everyone knows Duryodhan did so many wrongful acts. Bheem actually omitted all the ethics of mace war and hits Duryodhan's below the waistline. Mahabharat taught us whatever will be the reason we must not forget our Dharma (good deed in a righteous way).

I am watching TH-cam for like 12 yrs or so. This video is by far the best video up until now. I don't know, but it fulfills me, a gap within me.. similar to thaa when you feed a starving person. That amount of satisfaction. Thank you to my friend Sabitabrata to share me the link. If any time he will see this comment he will know I'm thankful to him. A lot of thanks to the creator.

I dnt care whether this is myth or actual happenings. Who ever wastes time in prooving it's existance or defying it, in my openion is fool. This is a huge subject with immense knowledge, we should spend time in learning it anyway. These texts were written long ago and still make sense. This is incredible. Thanks for composing this.

Wonderful insight into this great text on warfare. What I find surprising is that "Dhanurveda" is not just about techniques for archery, but also about other weapons such as the mace. Despite its name, it is really an all-encompassing treatise on warfare.

We have a ancient community of archers or aimers, they are called as Bhils in North India, Billava (Archer) or Eediga (aimer) in Kerala and Karnataka. They were soldiers in armies of Pandyas, Cheras, Vijayanagara, Keladi kingdoms. They are also natural warriors, good therapists, alchemist and people known for their word , faith ,valour and sacrifice for their masters. There are many folk songs and stories about this community in malayalam, Tulu, Kannada and in Telugu. The Bhils in north India claim their inheritance from the clan of "Ekalavya". Billavas in Karnataka worship their war heros Koti and Chennayya. These Eediga Billavas are also experts in hunting (Bontras), medicine(Baidyas), folk worship(Poojari), extracting toddy and brewing alcohol(Baine Deeva).
