As a relatively new person adopting Hinduism, I have found it strange when I read about festivals in India honoring Ravana. In different versions of the Ramayana I have read, as well as serials I've watched, I've never felt anything but negative feelings toward Ravana. I guess some people seem to align themselves with him because they're not the best people themselves. I hate to say it but, I do love the song to Lord Shiva.

Intention comes from your background, your upbringing, the things you crave and aspire for, the values you revere. A society that values pleasure, convenience, selfishness and lavishness will end up destroying everything around it. Hinduism does not start with solutions like bible or koran but asking its followers to search for answers. All its great books from vedas to upanishads to puranas are just guides to ignite an individual to search for truth. Hence we have millions of ways of thoughts and we are ok with everyone of them. Thats how nature is, every leaf and fruit on a tree is different. So knowledge does not make a great human being nor establish a great society. Thats why the colonizers though had done great scientific developments, organized capitalism, industrialization etc. only went on to destroy culture, civilizations and climate and continue to do so by imposing their ideas around the world. 👌🙏✊
I am surprised that in 100 years of Indian film industry, there is no film or series which shows Valmiki ramayan as it is without changing facts. That's y even I didn't understand how beautiful ramayan is untill I read. People only glorify major scenes like elevating movie heroes. That's why in any movie you take on ramayan, kishkinda kanda ANd yudhakanda are the major runtime. No one even care about balakanda, ayodhya kanda and Aranya kanda except the major events of that.

Wisdom are always greater than knowledge. Ravana had learned all the 64 types of kala or knowledge. 64 is the maximum number of knowledge & there's nothing more than this. Rama had only learned 32 types of kala or knowledge. Although Ravana had learned & acquired all the 64 types of knowledge but at the end he was still defeated by Rama who only had 32 types of knowledge. Why? Because Ravana had only attained knowledge but not wisdom. That's why he misused all his powers. Where else Rama had mastered the knowledge as well the wisdom of how to use all his powers wisely. For an example knowing how to use a knife are called knowledge. If it lands into a thief's hand he will use it to take a life but if the same knife lands into a doctor's hand he will use it to save a life. First of all, if one really identifies himself as a Hindu/Sanatana Dharmi in his heart, then one should feel ashamed at the glorification of Raavan at the expense of Lord Sri Rama. To understand the actions of Lord Sri Rama, we have to try to live exemplary life like his. Problem with the Hindus is, they conduct all the poojas/yagnas and so on for their personal material benefit but when it comes to unite and show solidarity and fight against opposing forces, they shy away. That is the reason many invaders have conquered our lands and even now anti-national forces try to cause dissension. Only few great personalities like Netaji Subash Chandra Bose understood the real teaching of the Gita and fought for the land and the protection of it's culture, no wonder he used to keep a copy of the Gita with him always. Our culture is inherently peaceful and hence Lord Krishna had to give sermons to Arjuna to stand up and fight. Neither surpakana did care about her husband. She was okay with what happened. She is just like ravan. There is nothing like Revenge on ravan. Infact even after losing nose and ears, she wanted to harm sita only not rama. Her cheap thinking was if ravan abducts or kill sita, then ram will come to shurpanakha as a second option. 🤦

The Ramayana basically end with the Pattabhishekam (coronation) of Rama. The Utthara Khanda is a likely later edition, people who know the Sanskrit will tell you that it is written in a different style from the other parts of the Ramayana. This is likely why works like the Kamba Ramayanan do not have this part.

The Ramayana and Mahabharata were translated by foreigners and British. Their main aim was to discredit the texts. So all leftists and intelligentsia from beginning use those as basis. There was no true version till Dr C Rajagopalachari who translated the texts from Indian point of view. By then, the damage was done.

I would beg to differ slightly. When Lord Rama wiped out the Rakshasas, 14000 of them, from Janasthana, Akampan fled to inform Ravana. He first suggested to carry away Sita to get even with Rama. Ravana proceeded to Mareecha, who had already faced Lord Rama and now doing Tapas and yoga. He counseled against this move. Ravana went back. Then it was all Surpanakha who made a lot of drama and even abused Ravana. Then things happened as we know. However, Ravana had a lust for ladies undoubtedly, and he was cursed by Punjikasthala, an Apsara reborn as Anjana, that he would die in case he touched any lady without her consent.
Utharakanda happened and Valmiki wrote it. Since it is an addition and ramayan was written till yudhakanda by the time of uthara kanda, it came later. And since it has the most sad ending and others, it is not considered. A Maharshi like Valmiki never leave the story unfinished. Because without utharakanda, you will be left with hundreds of questions. Uthara means later part in one meaning. And also answers in another meaning. All the questions a person who don't know anything about ramayan gets , will be clarified in uthara kanda. Hence the name uthara kanda.
In today’s time being like Ravana that is learned person, brave, a devotee is difficult for people. If someone was like that with arrogance and lust still people would make him a hero. We are in such a times that if someone is good for even 1% then he is made into a huge hero figure since it is impossible for even imagining a person like Lord Ram. That’s why people say that he is a myth. Even Valmiki had doubts that if such a person could really exist even in those times. This is a great video I have come across. I appreciate your hard work. I feel these videos' have to be a part of school curriculum to current generation kids.. They will not only know our culture but also know the importance of learning Sanskrit and know the reality of our culture. In this context, I would like to throw another light of ray regarding the distorted version of Ravana's character.. As per the claim, they say Ravana has not touched Sita.. Well I too don't accept this as I have come across verses in Ramayana which describe how Sita was handled by Ravana while abducting her... But when we think from Sita's perspective... things are like this.. In society right from Tretayuga ladies' character have been treated in a very sensitive way. See even when Sita (be in Maaya Sita which only the people who viewed agni-pariksha know about her existence) gave her purity in form of agni-pariksha, her character has been deglorified by illiterate people.. This character deglorification of females is the very first reason.. which made a class of people to protect Sita's virtue by saying she has not been touched. We all know.. a male's ego will never accept even righteous female who has been mis-handled by another male without her permission. I think one reason for distortion of Ravana's character in this context (That he didn't touch Sita) is to prevent misunderstanding or to protect female sections..... Another wonderful video. The beauty of our Ithihaasas is Both Historical events Ramayanam and Mahaabhaaratham hide nothing not even lied. Many wrong interpretations ruin tings sometimes. For example I take Gorakhpour Geetha Press Raamayanayam as valid original Vaalmeeki Raamayanam. In Hindi the meaning is actual and accurate to Samskrutham(sanskrit) but for the same in Telugu, the Telugu interpretation changed by who ever worked on it make it in to Telugu. As a relatively new person adopting Hinduism, I have found it strange when I read about festivals in India honoring Ravana. In different versions of the Ramayana I have read, as well as serials I've watched, I've never felt anything but negative feelings toward Ravana. I guess some people seem to align themselves with him because they're not the best people themselves.
I hate to say it but, I do love the song to Lord Shiva.
Ravana is a learned man but with wrong intentions. Just like nuclear scientists today who make missiles and missile carriers. Intention comes from your background, your upbringing, the things you crave and aspire for, the values you revere.
A society that values pleasure, convenience, selfishness and lavishness will end up destroying everything around it.
Hinduism does not start with solutions like bible or koran but asking its followers to search for answers. All its great books from vedas to upanishads to puranas are just guides to ignite an individual to search for truth. Hence we have millions of ways of thoughts and we are ok with everyone of them. Thats how nature is, every leaf and fruit on a tree is different.
So knowledge does not make a great human being nor establish a great society. Thats why the colonizers though had done great scientific developments, organized capitalism, industrialization etc. only went on to destroy culture, civilizations and climate and continue to do so by imposing their ideas around the world.

I am surprised that in 100 years of Indian film industry, there is no film or series which shows Valmiki ramayan as it is without changing facts. That's y even I didn't understand how beautiful ramayan is untill I read. People only glorify major scenes like elevating movie heroes.
That's why in any movie you take on ramayan, kishkinda kanda ANd yudhakanda are the major runtime. No one even care about balakanda, ayodhya kanda and Aranya kanda except the major events of that.

Of behaviors there are two kind - good & bad. Knowing both behavior are called knowledge, but knowing which behavior to choose are called wisdom.
Wisdom are always greater than knowledge. Ravana had learned all the 64 types of kala or knowledge. 64 is the maximum number of knowledge & there's nothing more than this.
Rama had only learned 32 types of kala or knowledge.
Although Ravana had learned & acquired all the 64 types of knowledge but at the end he was still defeated by Rama who only had 32 types of knowledge.
Why?
Because Ravana had only attained knowledge but not wisdom. That's why he misused all his powers. Where else Rama had mastered the knowledge as well the wisdom of how to use all his powers wisely.
For an example knowing how to use a knife are called knowledge. If it lands into a thief's hand he will use it to take a life but if the same knife lands into a doctor's hand he will use it to save a life.
This is the difference between knowledge and wisdom, difference between Ravana & Rama.

First of all, if one really identifies himself as a Hindu/Sanatana Dharmi in his heart, then one should feel ashamed at the glorification of Raavan at the expense of Lord Sri Rama. To understand the actions of Lord Sri Rama, we have to try to live exemplary life like his.
Problem with the Hindus is, they conduct all the poojas/yagnas and so on for their personal material benefit but when it comes to unite and show solidarity and fight against opposing forces, they shy away. That is the reason many invaders have conquered our lands and even now anti-national forces try to cause dissension. Only few great personalities like Netaji Subash Chandra Bose understood the real teaching of the Gita and fought for the land and the protection of it's culture, no wonder he used to keep a copy of the Gita with him always.
Our culture is inherently peaceful and hence Lord Krishna had to give sermons to Arjuna to stand up and fight. There are many adharmic forces that want to wreck our land, hence Hindus must be vigilant and stand united.

they stay with their Guru at Brahmacharya ashrama till they are 25 and then from 25-50 is their Grihasta ashrama. After 50, Brahmana and Kshatriya can only become Vanaprastas.
After Vanaprasta, ONLY BRAHMANA CAN TAKE SANYASS ASHRAMA at any age.(Guru is next to God).
Brahmana learns the 4 vedas, how to perform Yagna, AYURVEDA , offering to the devatas, Ashta siddhi vidya, atma-vidya (UPANISHADS) , Moorti puja and Bhakti to Paramatma from Guru.(ONLY BRAHMIN CAN BECOME GURU TO TEACH OTHERS)
Kshatriya learns Dhanurveda (all ready documented by Project Shivoham), Secret mantras for Divya-astras from Guru and the devatas, Shastra vidya (use of physical weapons), Political science, Ruling techniques, Justice methods for citizens, CONSTITUTION IS THE MANU SMRITI.
Vaishya learns the Vedas, Trading methods,economic studies etc.
They must perform business as per scriptures and they do regularly pooja to Lakshmi and Yagnas for wealth, when they have more wealth, the prosperity of the state/country increases and they donate food to Brahmacharis/Sanyassis, poor people.

I would beg to differ slightly. When Lord Rama wiped out the Rakshasas, 14000 of them, from Janasthana, Akampan fled to inform Ravana. He first suggested to carry away Sita to get even with Rama. Ravana proceeded to Mareecha, who had already faced Lord Rama and now doing Tapas and yoga. He counseled against this move. Ravana went back. Then it was all Surpanakha who made a lot of drama and even abused Ravana. Then things happened as we know. However, Ravana had a lust for ladies undoubtedly, and he was cursed by Punjikasthala, an Apsara reborn as Anjana, that he would die in case he touched any lady without her consent.

Utharakanda happened and Valmiki wrote it. Since it is an addition and ramayan was written till yudhakanda by the time of uthara kanda, it came later. And since it has the most sad ending and others, it is not considered.
A Maharshi like Valmiki never leave the story unfinished. Because without utharakanda, you will be left with hundreds of questions.
Uthara means later part in one meaning. And also answers in another meaning. All the questions a person who don't know anything about ramayan gets , will be clarified in uthara kanda. Hence the name uthara kanda.

In today’s time being like Ravana that is learned person, brave, a devotee is difficult for people. If someone was like that with arrogance and lust still people would make him a hero. We are in such a times that if someone is good for even 1% then he is made into a huge hero figure since it is impossible for even imagining a person like Lord Ram. That’s why people say that he is a myth. Even Valmiki had doubts that if such a person could really exist even in those times. Only Narmada explained that yes all the good qualities are present in one and only Lord Ram.

This is a great video I have come across. I appreciate your hard work. I feel these videos' have to be a part of school curriculum to current generation kids.. They will not only know our culture but also know the importance of learning Sanskrit and know the reality of our culture.
In this context, I would like to throw another light of ray regarding the distorted version of Ravana's character..
As per the claim, they say Ravana has not touched Sita.. Well I too don't accept this as I have come across verses in Ramayana which describe how Sita was handled by Ravana while abducting her... But when we think from Sita's perspective... things are like this..
In society right from Tretayuga ladies' character have been treated in a very sensitive way. See even when Sita (be in Maaya Sita which only the people who viewed agni-pariksha know about her existence) gave her purity in form of agni-pariksha, her character has been deglorified by illiterate people..
This character deglorification of females is the very first reason.. which made a class of people to protect Sita's virtue by saying she has not been touched. We all know.. a male's ego will never accept even righteous female who has been mis-handled by another male without her permission. I think one reason for distortion of Ravana's character in this context (That he didn't touch Sita) is to prevent misunderstanding or to protect female sections..... I think this may be one reason

Another wonderful video. The beauty of our Ithihaasas is Both Historical events Ramayanam and Mahaabhaaratham hide nothing not even lied. Many wrong interpretations ruin tings sometimes. For example I take Gorakhpour Geetha Press Raamayanayam as valid original Vaalmeeki Raamayanam. In Hindi the meaning is actual and accurate to Samskrutham(sanskrit) but for the same in Telugu, the Telugu interpretation changed by who ever worked on it make it in to Telugu. Such things will make people confuse so much.
