Best advice ever. I've moved from one camera system to another. Panasonic to Canon, and now to Sony. (A7iv, awesome camera, yea!).
But, the key in each case, I had to make an effort to learn each camera separately to get the most out of it. Don't let color science get in the way of shooting video.
Exactly. The other day I watched a Sony guy trying out the XT4 and obviously had never touched an analog camera nor understood the basic triangle of photography. He was like: "This camera is awesome... but I'll have to get used to all these dials". 🤦♂

Most people don't take photos at the level of their camera's potential, and spend more money leveling up their equipment than they do their skill. Learn to DESERVE your camera, guys.

Love Omar's channel. He uses his Nikon for his professional event work and the Fuji for fun/family stuff. XH1 is still good for photography, just doesn't have the modern video capability. Can't wait for your post X Summit video! LOL!

take the camera you own and learn to make the best out of it. Great advice! I use my old Canon 550D, still takes incredible photos. And a smartphone as well as a BMPCC OG which I learn more about every day.
Same I learnt on my gfs 700D, absolutely loved that camera, still use it occassionally these days despite having many new cameras now

most of the review I have seen so far of 50-230 was that not that sharp etc etc ... then I heard Ken Rockwell and he said it's sharp as hell and I lean to that and bought a renewed one with the half price from KEH. I am blown away with the sharpness. Thing that I live about you that I have learnt not only which device to play with but also from you - which reviewers to listened to too. i had canon fullframe and then i went to canon crop sensor and i didn't like them because they were missing so much, then i found a fuji xt4 camera that looks and works like i think the camera belongs to. I don't want the latest and greatest of everything. After all, i found a camera that gives me just the kind of track I always wanted. and always remember that the best camera is the one that is with you at the moment .
I just sold my a7iii for an xe4, realised I rarely do video and it was such a heavy setup before that I just wouldn't take it out. End of the day, the best camera is the one you have on you.
I did the same but for x-h1 and x-t1. Shit my back and shoulder doesn’t hurt when I shoot anymore. I finally found a camera with a soul.
A7c with a few Sigma i lenses would of had you covered.

to the guy that asked about the gimbal: you don't need it with any camera that his ibis especially with a lens that also has stabilization. You don't need it with the xh2, xh1, xt4, and the s10. Even with a xt2-3 and 18-55 you can handhold in a pinch.
If you must get a gimbal... Don't get the older zhiyun v2. I know why you're doing it, its old and good reviews and cheap. its why i got one years ago. Get a newer one, they can lock into place, helps with transport and makes changing batteries 100x easier as you don't have to rebalance after taking it off.
Or if you get a super light weight camera like the xt30 you can get away with a lighter and smaller gimbal even smaller, ligher and cheaper than the zhiyun v2. But i would still get one of the newer more expensive gimbals just to not have to worry about rebalancing if you insist on going that route.
About the X-E4 and X-H1. I was talking about adding the X-H1 to my gear....and I did. Found it for $600 + grip and batteries, no brainer. Still have the 240fps magic 🪄
Great choice! The X-H1 is very underrated. If used wisely, more than enough for what even most pros need in my opinion. I've shot with far less vid capabilities, kept the color grading to reasonable measures and few would EVER guess you weren't shooting on the latest gear. We are made to believe anything a few years old is "obsolete". Ridiculous.
The XH-1 is great- love it.

For X-T4 you need to tune the autofocus for your use-case.
I quit Fuji. I was Fuji guy since 2011 owning over a dozen different bodies + an array of lenses. It was easy to quit in 2021 with terrible stabilization or none at all. The tiny sensor with all the noise and poor auto focus. It was a good educational ride and Fuji does have good color but it was easy to give up Fuji. I went with Sony (don't laugh)

If Fuj had reliable autofocus i would’ve given them a shot. Full frame would be better. So I went Sony and have RNI presets for all the film sims I could ever want.
I like your review, very exciting, I am a Fujifilm user, I've been using xt 3 for video shoot, I think it's still an amazing camera.

Omar for years has been using fuji for his personal/for fun photography but I believe for his professional work he’s been using canon for years and then switched to Sony? Might be getting mixed up. But he owns loads of cameras. Also I love his channel
Omar never left Fujifilm
In fact the only brand Omar ever left is Canon.
He used to be a Canon only shooter, then for his event work switched his 5D mk IV to a Sony A7III only for the autofocus. He uses Fujifilm only for his personnal stuff, casual photography and nothing serious.
B&H gave him a couple of Nikon bodies and lenses to try out after he tried the D700, and he bought a Z6II for his event work right away. That said, he recently bought a Sony A9 for the AF capabilities in dark situations during event shoots.
So in the end, he uses Nikon, Sony and Fuji at the same time, but not for the same thing.
I have the double deck Sennheiser MKE 440 microphone and it’s sick bro. Some of the best sound capture I’ve had from on camera mic. It has to pointed straight at the subject though

I changed from a fuji xt4 to a sony a7iv a few months ago. Sony’s image quality/resolution is more professional and I love the results…although, I still miss my xt4 🥲

Heya Kasey! Thinking of picking up a sub $2000 camera and lens setup for wildlife photography, but I’m trying to keep the footprint small as possible while still having somewhat decent image quality (obviously sacrifices will have to be made).
Currently looking at smaller Olympus and Panasonic bodies with their telephoto zooms.
Not a joke: look at the nikon 1 j5 with the nikon 1 70-300 vr zoom (cx lens).
Urgent question: My mom is 61. And she's suddenly keep on photography. I would like buy her the best camera. Like an 8k body. So should it be the Nikon Z9? Or should I look at the Canon R3? Also considering the XH2S with the 50mm f1. I am really wanting to buy the 1.2 lenses because everyone I see say they are the best lenses. What's the right combo for my mom? Waiting eagerly!

:D -x-T4 autofous is about the user skill .how you learn to work with.. i use that camera for 1,5 year and dont have problem with autofocus. its about to film every day and you get it, how that camera is thinking :D
I am a pentax shooter because it is the easiest camera to use. It allows me to focus on my picture composition and not the camera interface. Pentax lenses - 100mm f2.8 macro and 35mm f2.8 macro, together, cost $1,000 CAD. I had a Fuji, but I couldn't accept having to pay $1600 CAD for one macro lens. So, I sold Rip-Off Fuji and went to Save-My-Money Pentax. I also have Micro Loser 4/3RDS but I don't use it as much as my Pentax. Pentax digital is the closest thing to shooting a film camera, which is what I most want in a camera. Anyone can pick up a Pentax and start using it in 5 minutes or less - it's that easy.
Hi I fell down a river bank and ended up in the river with my RX10. Fortunately I didn't break my leg and my RX10 survived. I watched your video and it made me smile. However, my question is this. I have a sony A1 with 200-600 which is miraculous but too heavy. I was a Canon &d shooter and still have several lenses including the 100-400. I am thinking of buying an R7 to go with the 100-400is mk ii but that will be a pain for travel having to carry 2 cameras. I could buy the Sony 100-400 and sell all the Canon gear. Canon R7 has some nice features - better ibis, pre capture, higher Mpixels, option to use all my 5 canon lenses. What would you do? I mostly shoot birds, aircra and cars. I love your channel btw. Why do youhave a keyboard with not enough keys to play a sony with?

"it's hard to sell Fuji gear, nobody wants it"... I realize this is a year old but maybe due for an update? The x100v which is all the rage, single fixed focal length camera sold out everywhere and Fuji xabr keep up...often resold at double retail.... Other models, I was looking for an X-T1 or T2, just old models, and the bloody things are barely cheaper than they were at launch.
So yes, you'd best revisit that statement LOL. Seems Fuji has had a major Renaissance.

They have some time to fix the problems but anyway there is no bright long telephoto lens, so... only Sony A1 or old DSLR stuff.

Hi Casey, I noticed we have the same office chair, except my is in horrible shape and I was wondering what you would get if you had to replace yours? Seeing as it’s one of the most consistent things in all your videos, maybe do a chair review? I’m also really tall..6’2 or over 2m. I don’t really like this chair, it’s clunky and noisy, mine doesn’t lean back all the way, and is torn in the middle. I need your guidance and wisdom and years of experience of sitting on your ass on TH-cam.

I'm torn between the XH2s and the XT4 since the XT4's price is projected to drop in the near future.
The addition of a stacked BSI sensor in the new camera might be the deciding factor for me.
if you shoot medium-fast paced in a well lit environment, an xt4 might be the better deal.
