    i think what is crazy to me is denmark didn't excel in any aspect of the competition aside from her own beauty. She wasn't great in swimwear (I would go as far as saying she was extremely messy), gown (very normal), or q&a (both answers had no substance?). So perhaps under the new ownership, looks play a huge part of the results. Which is disappointing when "transformational leader" is what they keep on marketing

      I totally see where you’re coming from! A lot of the dresses and swimsuit performances this year did feel pretty basic. But honestly, when you think about it, how often does the winner actually perform a swimsuit or evening competition after she wins?
      Once she’s crowned, it’s more about working with brands, volunteering with sponsors, and representing as a public figure. So at the end of the day, if the organization sees her potential, that’s what really matters. And she definitely stands out as a frontrunner in that sense!
      Remember, they are competing for a job ❤
      I did have others that were my favorites for swimsuit and evening gown

      It’s sad that this universe relies on their brand and their years of experience. We have upcoming organization/pageants that are bringing everything to the table. They definitely have to step it up and not rely on just the name.

    @wadew4091 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

    So I have an opinion, and if this gets lengthy, forgive me.
    -----
    First thing, I appreciate that as an organization, MUO is embracing the diversity that exists amongst women and not limiting the potential of women participation based on their age, size, marital status, etc. Because we all know, nothing will ever stop a woman who's on a mission when she's pursuing her goals. Why should Miss Universe? I felt last year in El Salvador, Paula, and her team laid a strong foundation for this to be a part of MUO legacy. She literally set the organization up for success going forward. Ann, Raul and their little squad have totally set themselves back, and now this all seems inauthentic and only performative. Especially with the leaks from Ann saying they can enter, but they can't win or, most recently, evolution is blonde hair blue eyes🙄
    -----
    2. Every year, I question whether black women and or women of color, more so our beautiful brown skin women are judged fairly as their white counterparts, or white passing, white adjacent counterparts. They put in as much preparation, and every year, we see many of them get left behind and not place. Which leads me to believe that our beautiful black and brown women must be perfect in every regard to place and our win. With Nigeria's performance, as good as she was, almost perfect, she wasn't good enough for the crown. While Denmark is an absolutely beautiful woman. Looking almost flawless, her missteps in the Q and A, didn't hinder and / or prevented her from winning. Taking everything into consideration, performance, and final 2 questions, I believed Nigeria and Thailand should have been top 2. Crown going to either, I could have accepted.
    ------
    3. Overall, the production of the show this year was horrible. There's nothing more to say. About that. Oh wait, the preliminary was a totat shit show. One big organized mess. With 125 women. They shouldn't have had 3 rounds of competition in one night.
    ------
    If pageants dont truly evolve to actually show and embrace the diversity that exists, then its relevance will continue to decline outside of latin America and Asia. PEOPLE IN GENERAL CAN'T RELATE TO THESE WOMEN, and in todays world, if people can't relate, then you lose relevance.

    • @SthephanieMarieMiranda
      @SthephanieMarieMiranda  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      When you said lengthy, you weren’t kidding
      But honestly, I love it. It just means you care and you have your own opinion and you’re sticking to it.
      I totally get where you’re coming from! I think it’s true that light-skinned women often get more attention, but it’s been amazing to see a few stunning women of color break through and take the Miss Universe title in recent years.
      El Salvador was absolutely gorgeous, and I completely agree-highlighting a diverse group of women is so important. It was exciting to see some countries qualify that haven’t been noticed in a while. Let’s hope the organization continues to embrace and express that diversity moving forward!

      Thanks for responding 😀
      I felt totally let down, and I'm not even a woman competing. I'm a total dude. 🤣🤣🤣 A fan and supporter of women.
      If I feel this way, I can only imagine how the women competing and the team behind them helping with their preparation feel.
      Overall, these women deserve much better, especially from an organization as established as Miss Universe.

    • @UltraMella
      @UltraMella วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Agreed!!! Especially about Q and A. Nigeria and Thailand. Denmark messed up that first question at the end, but she made up for it in the 2nd question. Venezuela’s translator was an opp sent by the devil 😭. Nigeria’s dress for evening gown … I also wasn’t feeling it. But she wore it well regardless. Thailand did so well and did the best in Q and A. Nigeria 2nd best. I’m happy about Denmark winning though, I liked her from the beginning but I don’t think she was the best performance wise. But now I feel so bad for her cause the MU organisation is just so consumed with drama and instead of being celebrated she’s turning into the girl that’s promoting their new reality show.

    What s the point or meaning of prelim and final when walk/skill/Q&A don’t have to be convincing if the organization has seen your potential to be their ambassador during the quarantine? And why have judges if the organization already picks who they want?

    • @SthephanieMarieMiranda
      @SthephanieMarieMiranda  วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      It’s all about business, production, and the show. The prelims and finals are part of what makes pageants entertaining and engaging for the audience. They give people the drama, excitement, and beauty they want to see.
      But here’s the reality: a contestant can have the best walk, the most stunning dress, be drop-dead gorgeous, and nail her Q&A. However, if the organization has seen something during quarantine that doesn’t align with what they want in an ambassador, her chances are slim.
      At the end of the day, contestants are competing for a job, not just a title. The organization is looking for someone who fits their brand, aligns with their vision, and can fulfill the responsibilities of the role.
      As a viewer, I know it can feel unfair. But that’s why contestants-and fans-need to approach it strategically. The stage performance is just one piece of the puzzle; the behind-the-scenes moments matter just as much.

    Hey, new subbie here. I agree!! This year’s Miss Universe was so underwhelming. It was NOT inspirational. It did not make me wanna pull out my tiara and wear it while doing the dishes 😂 I’m not happy. And Miss Denmark’s win has been overshadowed by all kinds of drama. I’m not happy this year!!!! They didn’t really do activities or have everyone participate. Some of the contestants spent the whole time in their hotel rooms and only got to show off their OOTD at breakfast or to the press. The production was meh, and there were far too many girls. Ann kept sticking her foot in her mouth. We didn’t even hear about the girls advocacies or get to know them or even hear their voices before QnA. I’m not happy!!!

    This year had such a weird vibe. I like the winner and the crown but nothing really stood out to become iconic this year. There wasn't a "OMG WOW!" moment in any of the rounds. Not even from the eventual winner. I can't remember one single gown standing out to me because they all felt like gowns I've seen before, I can't remember any iconic hard-hitting answer(s) in the QNA round, not even the stage, production, and pre-pageant activities really piqued my interest. It was sooo, sooooo boring. I hope they step up their game next year.
    BTW, who were your faves during swimsuit, evening gown and QnA? For swimsuit I loved Philippines, Dominican Republic, Zimbabwe and Ecuador. Evening gown standouts were probably Thailand and Peru IMO but they were still not THAT iconic. The QnA rounds were just bland (probably because the questions themselves weren't specifically thought provoking) but Thailand (whom I expected to win) and Nigeria had the most well balanced answers but they still aren't quotable.

Miss Palacios she didn’t even have a proper farewell walk she was in darkness her gown was supposed to light up. They didn’t even give the girls the respect and opportunity to call their names. Those girls worked hard all year to end up on that stage and only get 5 seconds to mention their respective countries. From what I gathered they were all confined to the hotel and only a few of them got the opportunity to go to certain excursions. And now that Miss Anne is selling MU merch that’s terrible imo she’s
      Cheapening the brand even further! I still haven’t finished watching it. TBH I feel hurt 😔 I’ve always been a MU fan since I was 3 when Jenelle Penny won from my country in 1977 the first black woman to ever win MU. Miss World has always been my favorite and then MU. But now my favorite is MGI then Miss World… And to answer question the answer is NO it’ll never be same as long as that money hungry demon Anne is the owner she looks so mean and evil.
