    Very comprehensive thoughts on what a solution architect should consider for moving any application to the cloud.

    I am longing for the content such as this. You are a genius and make to think. You orchestrated real time scenarios in a way none can explain as such. Awesome. Kudos and thanks for your unrelenting work.. Great stuff.

    I will get an insight on how much the customer is currently spending for a specific region with the on-premise architecture , and then give an estimate on the ROI and cost savings while migrating to the cloud .

    Excellent content! Just precise the things an interviewer would expect from the candidate. Asking questions very important and solutions should be as per requirements and questions asked. In an recent Sol. Arch. interview I missed couple of things mentioned in the video, they did not provide me the feedback, however, after watching this video I got to know where I missed.

    Good view and really valuable insights. I have not really seen this happening in reality that there is on-prem DB with Cloud app will run into issues with latency.

    • @ArchitectITCloud
      @ArchitectITCloud  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Good point but some organizations are data centric and would like to manage the data by their own. Such organizations can still pick a region closer to their on-prem DC and lower the latency as well as keep the data on their on-prem DCs. Another option is “dedicated cloud”

      It depends. Considering the time, the chances are less. But as a solution architect you must be knowing the realtime integration details and services used.

    Namashkar Sir. I've very little knowledge about the cloud and I'm a beginner. Still this looks so fascinating to me. Looking at the things involved in all of these makes me a bit nervous .How should i get started with AWS?

      @elite, Though you are a beginner, you are one step ahead in your goal as you landed here. This channel has fantastic subscribers who ask right questions and share their thoughts. If you decided to start with any cloud service providers, just get into one basic / foundation certification. Initially you may have lot of questions, don’t hesitate to reach out channel over the comments and over the email. All the best!!

    Hi sir, I just joined as a Solutions Architect for the first time for a client project. My previous experience was from a devops background. I'm afraid of getting adapted to this new role of my career. I really do not have any idea of what functional & non functional requirements. Is that compulsory to know as being in the SA role. Could you help me know what these requirements could be. Thanks a ton!!

    • @ArchitectITCloud
      @ArchitectITCloud  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      All the best for your new role. The functional requirements are closely related to the functions of the application. For example, in a web application, login is a function, forgot password is a function. The requirements related to these functions are called functional requirements. The non-functional requirements are like, the performance of the application, how your application can scale when volume of transactions are increasing etc.

    Sir, how to prepare to become Azure solution architect. I'm not talking about clearing Az-305 exam.

    • @ArchitectITCloud
      @ArchitectITCloud  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hello Shawn, I understand your question. The certification is a kind of your business card / visiting card. If you want to gain more about the services offered by the cloud service providers, get yourself refreshed and by preparing to certification.
      To become azure solution architect,
      1. Get a thorough understanding of Azure infrastructure services
      2. Get to know about and get hands on with platform services
      3. Try a small in-house project with free account
      4. Seek internally in your organization and find a n opportunity to work as infrastructure or platform architect
      5. Think through all non-functional requirements and well architected framework parameters and start designing the system
      6. Learn to collaborate internally with all your stakeholders
      7. Get involved in one production department

  • @JoLap42

    Option 1 and option 2 are described as the same. Lift and shift (app and db to the cloud) and option 2 is everything to the cloud… can someone help me understand why this is different? Descriptions are identical,

    • @balakrishnan3725
      @balakrishnan3725 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Option-1 is purely lift and shift, where in no refactoring is performed on the application. But option-2 talks about the refactoring or changes in the application to make it cloud compatible.
      This is my understanding.

    These are not interview based questions. It is more of a requirement gathering with the customer.

    • @RexGrafana

      @@ArchitectITCloud Thats fine but its not generalized that requirement gathering is part of answering system design interview questions. 90% of folks who interview dont expect this answer and I have noticed that

  • @rexsam3134
    @rexsam3134 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    can you share the answers to these questions that you are putting up. You assumed transition from onprem to cloud. Think of already existing apps on cloud and you need to add one more app to cloud. Solution to them is the right approach as you cannot ask interviewers these cross questions. Some companies dont hire Niche skill resources even after bagging projects which is unrealistic. These resource managers are least bothered on recruiting once the sales team gets such projects

    • @ArchitectITCloud
      @ArchitectITCloud  ปีที่แล้ว

      I have covered the answers as well, can you pls be specific on which questions?

    • @rexsam3134
      @rexsam3134 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@ArchitectITCloudhere you are talking about Lift Shift to cloud, containerization only. This is not design unless they are asking you deployment strategy. Need something more on what you can focus on Designing all components while designing a new app like say Retail based. More on Reverse Proxy,, Hardware load balancers if used, Even if its on any Cloud how will you configure the Prod servers using
      AWS - eg say 3 servers on EC2 in Master Slave

    • @ArchitectITCloud
      @ArchitectITCloud  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@rexsam3134 If you look at the question, the question was at high-level. I agree what type of containerization you would choose, the interviewer is not worrying about the implementation approach. In realtime, if you take this approach with the customer, he will say, I dont want to manage or i dont have resources to manage, then you must change the fully managed. That's the reason, I mentioned in the video, go with options for the customer to pick. If 60 min is not sufficient, I would cover the high level overview and pros and cons of different deployment options and leave it to the customer to pick based on his capacity / available resources / budget. Hope this helps!

    • @rexsam3134
      @rexsam3134 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ArchitectITCloud managing resources or resource non availability is not what the interviewer is looking for. Ignore budget for the interview as it has very little to add to the interviewer thoughts. They are focusing on technical stuff only and matching answers to what they have on mind is what I am looking for. I personally think that some of your answers are going somewhere else not related to what is to be answered

    The most important question you forgot to ask - what about the historic data generated by 95% of the business? Where is this data?. How to migrate it?. You cannot say to your customers ok 5% data is online and rest is with your legacy system. basically you need to define the scope of the project. If you are solutions architect then first thing you must know business people are not software people🙂🙂. Tomorrow they will ask you - _we wasted so much money and we dont have our full data online._.
