We lived in US for 10 years and returned to India in 2022. We are now living our dream of running an organic farm 😊. The points discussed in this video are good. But, with time, we faced other challenges like kids education and other unplanned expenses etc. This is a great show and happy to listen to the stories similar to us. 😊
Thanks for sharing your experiences and for the feedback. Are you open to share your journey on the platform and it would help others?
Organic farming, opening a cafe in a tourist location and Airbnb are some of the top aspirational post retirement plans of aged 40 plus early retirement takers in our country, something that is there in everybody's mind and planning can't do well for all, plus farming is a difficult job in our country and require physical labour, connection with the grassroots and domain expertise none of which the ex corporate employees bring, my message is don't retire until you hv enough funds and you can sustain without working and your investment returns can see you through, most of us working in the corporate set ups overestimate our abilities to start a business venture from scratch and be meaningfully profitable, and then most of us Indians don't hv any hobby or interest outside work that is serious enough to be monetized, don't retire till you are retired from this world is my mantra, invest in acquiring new skills around your work and be curious to stay relevant
Shaurya you come across as a really decent, and good guy! Guard that goodness especially now that you are in India.
Thank you for watching!
The best episode !

Great 👍 We are also on FIRE journey now and return to homeland in a few years ❤ after accumulating a decent corpus ! These type of videos are good inspiration that it is infact possible 🔥
Fantastic and good luck with your plan and move.
Agree ...but would have been useful to have an idea of the FIRE targets and numbers
What is the corpus with what we can come with
@@lisboaprince4513 It depends on the lifestyle and personal choices. But some basics would be , fix a number for known costs. Maybe even tackle them straight away like buy a house that will live in if you haven't already. It would be an asset plus will protect from rent inflation. Get health coverage and set aside money for childrens education. After that it becomes more tricky and subjective as it's lifestyle dependent and what you want to do next in your life
4cr or 5cr@@lisboaprince4513
If ypu can cover more details on 1)tax implications of your income earned in india after you leave US 2) pros and cons about 401k withdrawal while you move VS wait until you retire.
The above questions will be very useful for ppl who aspire to move. Thank
Thanks for bringing up. We are planning to cover these topics with an experienced CA. Please subscribe and stay tuned. Thanks

Can u advise how much corpus is enough to return to India
@@lisboaprince4513 It's very much depends on the lifestyle and where you are in your life.
Great work Avinash. I wish your channel grows exponentially and One fine day you wake up with million views and 100 k subscribers.
Thanks a lot. Please spread the word and want to provide value to Desi return aspirants
You need to start with the basics for the listeners. What is the interviewees age, how much is the approximate savings before returning to India...etc Backgound helps a lot
Thanks for the input. It makesense when we are doing FIRE based disucssions. Will keep that in mind.
Agree...especially things like health insurance and pensions
The main reason why people want to retire in India is because the dollar they have earned stretches lot farther than the country they left
For sure that is one of the big factor.
Well obviously . The reason to go for foreign is exactly what you mentioned . Iam confused why are you repeating it as if it’s some thing new
@@jayakishore565 you are mistaken. I’m not repeating anything, just made my comment once . People who have returned to India are trying to justify by beating around the bush, but there is only one real reason and that’s what I have given. Take it or leave it.
@@mohammadshoeb9852 no one is beating around the bush . If anything they have enough money they retire . Usually when you goto west you will get extra money bcoz of exchange rate . Just to show ur ego you put down ur comment . Either you accept and change or leave it . Let’s moves on
@@jayakishore565 one thing I have learned is that one should never argue with a moron, because he will get back at you with greater vengeance . End of story. Good bye
I was expecting you discuss more about financials like Investments and nest egg and all investment numbers
Thanks for the feedback. We need to find a guest who is open to share specifics and their personal details right...
I think it's not so easy to retire early in this current scenario because of the surprise inflation events happening throughout the world. Whoever goes now or started a career abroad (for the past 3 years) might face many challenges regarding housing, rent increase, expenditure increase and no savings due to a rise in all daily usage products. It's really hard to save a penny at this moment. especially if you are with the family!!
I think many people will not agree with me but I am experiencing this at the moment and heard many others are facing the same!!!
Thanks for sharing your experiences. Post covid, things have changed a lot.
@@DesiReturn it's really good content. I would suggest taking a podcast with the present situation in aboard and challenges faced by a families in aboard across the globe
No green , uncertainty of H1B visa and layoff sums it all up
😂
How do you manage to transfer 401K funds, while moving to India?
Check out our video what we have done in the past. th-cam.com/video/T_47gI5_4Yc/w-d-xo.html
I want to know, if the Avinash is now located in India or outside??
Yes Avinash is living in India
@@DesiReturn you guys are awesome. I am move soon as well. Your videos put me in the right mindset.

I can’t believe this is coming from the mouth of Telugu guy 😲😮🤯
Why?
How about fresh air and water?
Dude only inside cities you have fresh air issue .iam retired from Germany 3 months back . I took house 10kms from hyd . Here we have very decent fresh air and water . Prob is when you stay near center of city and travelling then it’s prob . In India everything is home delivery . All sports are in our society only inside . Except for movies and mall I don’t have to go inside city . I don’t see the fuss
@Jayakishore565 Thanks for sharing your experiences. Would you be open to share your story on the platform? It would be valuable
Thanks for This
Many important questions missed
How did you achieve fire
What amount you had in mind
How did you disciplined yourself with it
How do you manage expenses in india
How much you earned saved invested
Where did you invested
Probably interviewer is not clear about what’s fire
Thanks for watching and for your suggestions. The intent of this episode is more about return to India from several factors (motivating factors, logistics, life, etc.,). We will do a follow-up one that's more deep dive on FIRE (Plan and execution, $$ in mind, discipline in achieving it, etc.,)
yes please make a video on fire especially from US to India
14:05, answered me how and why and how 😅 dude FIRE means u switch on tv and watch tv eat sh9t and sleep. Dude wants to switch his career and place.
Watch Budget 2024 and tell me if you still want to come and retire in India 😂
I felt budget is great !!! What is it you didn’t like in budget dude ??
What in budget wpuld make people to reconsider retiring in India? Also it should not be big factor in one’s decision to move back
I am Indian citizen and moving to US permanently..😅🤩
Reason:
Low quality of life
Low quality of education
Unnecessary high taxes
Pollution
Corruption
Overpopulation
Over Competition in India
Poor work life balance...in India 🤡
Good for you and all the best!
Please leave India ASAP 🎉
lol here in US Iam thinking what a joke is ur comment . Come come we have a big surprise for you .
@@jayakishore565 Don't judge...Everyone has a different story..!!
@@shubhamkurade1537 well you are the one judging . So stop lecturing . Just read ur comment . It’s a complete false statement out of ur judgement
Failed H1B fortunes 😂😅
The main reason is Visa issues, other reasons are just to cover up the Visa issue.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. Thats a very genric statement. There are quite a few a few people who moved on their will who dont have visa issues. Thanks for watching
I am a us citizen and i am moving back to india.
@@emmanueljoseph2520 why
I'm here since 14yrs and having my i140 approved which gives me unlimited renewals until I get green card yet I'm at
Position to move back as well. You need to be a bit wise in gaging the situation
@@RajendraGoli Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. Hope you find the information on the channel helpful.
Most of them return because they couldnt find a job or fired but when you ask them they would say they want to retire early and all sorts of lies
This is just very generalized statement. Lots of people moved for their own reasons even though they have successful career abroad.
@@DesiReturn did you do MS in US and found a job there? No...most of them go there because they got a H1B Visa and happily earn. When the company learns that these people have become dead ducks then they ask them to leave. Accept the reality. You were not in the intelligent crowd of people ( that cracked GRE and passed out of IIT and REC's) that went to US. You were in the crowd of software engineers that got an opportunity to work in the US.
He basically returned so he can have maids.
And his visa was not renewed
And to provide employment for his conveniences. There is positive way to look at the things also.
Maid, Gardner, driver , yoga teacher at home in morning, vip gym membership, lavish brunch , evening snacks , samosa etc , evening walks , mall or shopping or temple ... Movie time and sleep in peace .. then why not return and retire early
@@ufo2269it was nvr mentioned that visa was not renewed . How you know ?
