I also love that when Ralphie and Randy 1st get into the line. It wasn't the Mall employee dressed as a Elf. It was the guy who told Ralphie where the line started. That Elf was like who cares. 😂 Santa and he staff were assholes this movie is great.
I read somewhere the actress portraying the female angry/nasty elf got the part because she acted similarly like she did at 3:33 when she went to audition for the part but time had run out but she put up a big fuss that she was waiting in line too long to just be turned away at the last moment.
A few years ago, I was at the park with my nieces I sat on the top of the slide when my niece started climbing up she was asking me something but I thought this was the perfect: A Christmas Story opportunity. I told her "you'll shoot your eye out kid" and pushed her down with my boot saying ho ho ho and watched her slide down the slide. It was an awesome moment to recreate.
Especially the lady elf, as she yells at Ralphie:”Listen, little boy, we’ve got a LONG QUEUE of children waiting here as you can see, so GET A MOVE ON!!!”
Fun fact for yall, the scene where Randy is going down the slide was a real genuine reaction and he was actually terrified of the slide and Jean shepherd loved the idea and never cut it out
Here's a fun fact for you: My brother and I MET Peter Billingsley himself at a specialized showing for this movie at the Keswick in Glenside, PA, just last week, and he mentioned that! He also mentioned that his own reaction to the weird kid was ALSO genuine, he was truly weirded out!

Gotta love those classic 1957 downtown department stores 6 to 7 floors tall, and have many departments on each level. And have these rolls of elevators that are ran by people that sit on the benches with levers that make it go up and down and the doors are glass and they are closed by a gate.
I was confused by that when I was little, but my dad explained to me that all the absurdity and meanness of everyone in that scene was all Ralphie’s imagination
