I have two CASIOS F91W , one CASIO AE1200 , one Timex Expedition ACADIA , one Citizen Quartz , One Seiko Quartz , One CASIO DW5600E and One CASIO DW-9052-2V.
Great video. So many rabbit holes! Here in my country Orient still make LCD watches, just not under their own brand. I have a few of them, they are branded X Games and Lince. And at least in my X Games watches that I opened up, the module was marked as Ricoh.
On the note of other modern digital watches I picked up the Seiko digi tuna when they came out. Super cool watch and far tougher than any of the reviews suggested it would be, its my go to abuse watch and has seen shock, scratches, abrasives, adhesives, solvents, paint, extreme temp, and shrugged it all off. the resin case has held up better than the hardlex crystal has.
Nice! Yes I saw some reviews of those. I like the idea of a modern seiko digital as they largely got out of that game a while back. Good to hear your positive experience with it!
WOW...HOW MANY DIGITAL WATCHES MODEL IN THE RABBIT HOLES ! , THEY ARE SO PRETTY HOW ACURRED AND CURIOUS...I LOVE THE DIGITAL WATCHES , YOU KNOW .CASIO , CITIZEN , TIMEX , PULSAR OR SEIKO OR OMEGA , INCLUSIVE ROLEX DIGITAL TOO... AMAZING ! ! . GRETTINS FOR YOU AND FAMILY , FRIEND . I STILL VIEW YOUR CHANNEL ! ! . 👍🙋
@@IlluminatingWatches It's a great way for sure... will give your channel a shout-out on my community page, as when you're so small and starting out, it does take ages to get your own following... so far I've enjoyed this show, and will watch a few more later :) If you want to make a success of it, it's a lot of work, I just enjoy doing it as a passionate side of helping, also I enjoy filming :))
@@WatchUP69MrRangeman that is really kind of you. Ha yes I’ll blame the algorithm but the content likely plays a more significant part in my own numbers!!
@@IlluminatingWatches It's the bigger channels that reap the audience, and usually they take from your channel with ideas... just don't go buying views and subs, this leads to being dishonest with yourself, plus you can have the channel removed... seen a few channels grow very quickly, but certain things don't make sense, but if that's how they want to go forward, then they're not in it for the viewers so much, more about making money and being popular... Just enjoy it and the real viewers will come, you will get better what you do, so don't watch your early videos, especially mine, as it's just you getting to grips... you'll get better and better within your own limits, but never look at other big channels and get envious, they're not getting much pudding at home I swear LML :-P I'm a tiny channel, I'm an amateur and I do have a life, so you have to find points where to cut off, otherwise you'll be digging around through bigger channels wondering how they do it, and it's usually because they get sponsored, or review junk and lie to the viewers just to get free watches and a percentage of the deal... fair game if that's what anyone likes, but I have decided that this is my channel, and view the things I like and interest me. If you feel you're boring, then revamp yourself and create the channel like how you are in life, and really enjoy it. I really make my videos too long, but I like the details and tutorials and this can't be rushed... I get many emails asking to review watches of the micro brand, and to be honest, unless it's something very cool, I can't be bothered to blah blah over something that I would never wear or buy. Running a channel as an amateur on low views is how you start, and it takes time... this is my second time around, as TH-cam removed my old channel over nothing, just an Aprils's fools video, but was lucky to have nearly 8000 subs which soon found me, plus some other channels that noticed and gave me a mention to say I'm back, thus why I have over 7k subs in a little time. My older videos show the age, and luckily I had those saved elsewhere, otherwise I lost about 150 videos! I'm no expert, but if I can give you a mention just to push a few your way, it's a start, but am only doing this as your content is really good :))
What an awesome post. Very insightful and gratefully received! I’m relentlessly my boring self that digs into things too much for my own fun so minimal worries over that element! Great to hear your evolved view point and I look forward to my future cringing on current efforts!
One of the old square MRGs would be good . Luc Albert has one on Instagram. Braun made in Germany model also good. And the more modern El Capitan from Allay. There are loads!
The sheer nostalgia of the Timex Ironman triathlon (my first watch) and the coolness of the space link of the datalink range means I maintain a soft spot for them. They do make a lot of rubbish as well though!

Great watches !
Thank you for the free class! I'm a very big fan of these retrospective videos. Very good editing and ambient atmosphere. Love it!
Glad you enjoyed it. Still very amateurish but enjoying the process!
The commercials really make this video enjoyable. Wow, I never thought those words would ever be written; much less, thought.
Ha ha thanks! They are like little “madeleine moments” for me (pretentious reference but worth a google if unfamiliar)
@@IlluminatingWatches I grew up with 3 TV channels so none of them jarred loose a memory for me but I find that I missed them anyway.

Ah nice! I’ll definitely dive more into that myself. So many fun avenues. Can get obsessive :)
Forgot to mention CITIZEN’s Voice Memo Digi Ana. Absolutely sublime.
Amazing watch! Cover it in my citizen digital watches video
Amazing collections !!👍👍

man those Lorus digis are super nice!!
Yep I’m picking up an unfortunate habit of picking up digital watches on eBay I wouldn’t have looked twice at in the Argos catalog as a kid
You have a brilliant channel here my friend... really enjoyed this show... will check some more out later, but till then cheers for sharing :))
Very kind of you thanks!!! Enjoying your channel. I’m just using this as an excuse/outlet to chat watches

keep up the good work!
elektronika deserves its own slot
True. I cover elektronika in detail in a video I did on soviet era watches
16:17 The music sounds like the band CRASHDIET and the song Cocaine Cowboys
Could be! Sounds quite Rammstein-esque
I've got the exact same one from 1986 at the 1min 20sec mark, bht the piezo / beeper is broken.. Any help to get it working would be awesome!
Useless at any of that! Hitmiccs On Instagram may be able to point you in the right direction.
Awesome vid! Any retro steel (case) square-style watches you’d recommend?
One of the old square MRGs would be good . Luc Albert has one on Instagram. Braun made in Germany model also good. And the more modern El Capitan from Allay. There are loads!
Vintage Digital Watches are worthy and affordable for collectors ...!
7:11 second which brand and model watch ?
That’s the pulsar Y950 . There is also a Y951 variant. I cover it on my more recent video on alba and pulsar
no Casio SW-200?
That is a great shout! Not seen one in person
Nice ❤️
Thankyou!!
Swatch ?
They did the swatch beat which was a digital. I did another video on 80s swatch if that’s of interest
@@IlluminatingWatches this was really informative. I didn't know about these watches.

I've never liked Timex digitals, with their thin digits, they always look like cheap nasty Casio knockoffs...

@@IlluminatingWatches I thought the Datalink models were pure genius. But they weren't really sold outside North America.
I was obsessed with Ironman watches but suddenly I love Casio 😅 timex always had a good quality about them
Oh yeah! Those Citizen ana-digi pieces are sweet! And the Seiko computer watch is pwn hehe.
I know - I so want to get the Star Wars one! So many fun digitals to explore!
@@IlluminatingWatches Yeah that one was killer!
