Since many of you have asked, I've created a Udemy course on Spine Pro! 💛 ► Enroll HERE: www.udemy.com/course/spine-pro-a-complete-2d-character-animation-guide/?referralCode=84DB13BBD24AC645D6EA
I have both of your Spine courses, are you going to make anymore..?? Or perhaps one on the creative process of creating the characters in Photoshop, and another on integrating the Spine animations into Unity..?
Hi! Is your tutorial and Udemy course using Spine 2D Essential or Professional? And if you're using Professional, would we be able to achieve the same effects with Essential? Thanks!☺️
@@jasmyn1258Hi! I have separate courses on Spine Pro and Essential, each one covering the most important features of each version. If the effects you've mentioned is 2.5D, then Spine Pro is definitely better since it supports meshes. You can achieve 2.5D to a certain degree with Essential using shear and scale tools, but it will not be as smooth as with meshes.
You are a gifted teacher! I purchased your udemy course yesterday and already I understand things I couldn't get before. I'm going to take all your courses now!!
No matter what I do I cannot get past the binding process. Nothing is working when I attempt to bind bones to an image to be able to move it. nothing online has provided any help.
Amazing teacher and Tutorial!! I've struggled with other tutorials, but you managed to make a thorough tutorial in less than 20 mins while still keeping all the valuable information in! Thank you again! If I choose to buy Spine Pro, I will definitely buy your Udemy Course!
Switched from Spriter Pro to Spine and oh my gosh, loving Spine more. The skin mode in Spriter is buggy which is understandable since it’s experimental. But I can’t stand it because it doesn’t do what I wanted it to do. This tutorial is super helpful and I always refer to it. I just started using Spine too XD
Looks like it is important to make points on shape symmetrically so on left and right you have same amount of points ?? {Like on 3D mesh} Actually it is a question not a statement but just want to make sure my thinking is logical. When you made center line and you start connecting across points i noticed that somehow you have same amount of points on left and right side. So when you create all points around the shape you are already calculating how place those points and how many ? You do not go around just click click click click click click click click ??
i didn't understand the reason why you added the orange lines on the hair, arms and legs but not on the eye, mouth parts. What is the reason? Also thank you for the video, your explanation style is very clear :)
Dear Master, your education is so so good, i m not good my english but you realy easy learning to us. And i want to buy your udemy packed, i waiting udemy discont, its does some times. Ty for everthing :)
I am 10 years old and I want to make stuff like this... One of the games I play is called meow playground created with spine, and I wish to create a spine game someday.
I can't create or even see a mesh? Like I click the image the same way but there is no option to create a mesh? Do I need to download or am I missing something?
@@ThinkCitric Seems I only have the essential version... Does that mean I can't properly use the bone tool because every tutorial I see uses the mesh tool when rigging and I can't seem to get the bones working properly
@@CodeSly you can use the bones with the essential version too. What you need to do, however, is to use only one bone per image. Linking two or more bones to an image will not have any effect in Essential version. Slice your character images into more images, if necessary. BTW, we have a Udemy course focused on Spine Essential, it has 3 hours of video content and covers everything you need to get confident about character animation in Spine. Here it is: www.udemy.com/course/learn-2d-character-animation-for-games-in-spine-essential/?referralCode=828AEA929E30837D1F4F Hope it helps! :)
"I know it sounds complicated now" - Me attempting to create bones for my 25th time. For the example when you bind the two bones to the arm mesh. The parent bone when I attempt to move it, the child doesn't move with it. Why is that?
5 months later I come back to this to try and make sense of it And guess what? My child bones still don't move when I move the parent bone. - Update: I had the Bone option "locked". For anyone who has the same issue as me.
Unfortunately, no. Meshes are one of the Pro version features, and they are not available in Essential. Well, there's also a Trial version if you want to try it out, but you can't save or export your project there.
@@ThinkCitric Yes I'm really dissapointed to hear this I really thought this is important to be able to make your character look more alive I might switch back to live2D thank you for replying!
It might be that you have the bones compensation turned on, it does exactly that. To fix that, you just need to make sure the "Bones" button in the toolbar below is not blue. Here's more about it: en.esotericsoftware.com/spine-tools#Compensation
@@orkun441 use Dragonbones. It is a free program that has, more or less, the same tools as Spine. Personally i prefer Spine, but Dbones is an amazing free alternative.

Hi, I personally like using Photoshop. But Spine is also compatible with After Effects, GIMP, Illustrator and Inkscape.
Damn... You have take more time to do this animation with this app than if you make it yourself by hand !
