    Have you ever looked at an amazing sketch by a master artist and thought, “Man. If I could just draw like that I would be the best animator in the world! Why doesn’t this person animate? They’d be great”
    The truth is though, even the most talented artist can still be an amateur animator. Why? Because animation is not just about drawing. It’s about Timing and it’s about Spacing.
    In this video, we'll go over some basic spacing knowledge that will unlock a world of possibility in your animations.
    Time Stamps:

    How to animate them 2:00
    Constant Motion 2:28

      You should direct your concerns towards the people who misuse it. Nobal encourages people to use it for reference and sparking new Ideas (as it should be used). It's a great tool for ideas references and just plain fun. I'm 100% behind him. It's not like he's saying, "use this cool tool and sell the art for profit". It's on each of us to make responsible decisions "With great power comes great responsibility". 😮

      @@upswithwings expecting only artists to use ai is like expecting only writers to use spelling checker and article ai's, and only people with a degree to use coding ai's, or musicians music ai's, art AI is the one thats furthest along. Its not about misuse, there is no misuse, its about it costing people their jobs, and taking away possible future positions as well as taking away much of the worth of art, directing it at people using ai is dumb.

      @slightmovement8985 Also, I never said said I was expecting anybody to do anything. Its up to you whether ya want to use it needless to say.... Im simply just stating that we have the power to do the right thing and I don't get why its dumb to direct your frustrations to the people who do wrong with the art AIs. They are the ones using the AI generators, and or AI and selling the created results and destroying the value of art. Is it wrong to promote responsible method of use to everyone? Watching this after attempting to do my (technically) second animation, which was a bouncing lollipop with a ribbon attached (I thought it’d be cute, idk 😂) and I’m actually shocked that I kind of was able to “intuit” making the ribbon ease in and out so that it looked “right” according to the feel of the motion I was going for- it followed a similar arc to your figure here. Obviously, it took a long time, I was just adding frames where it felt right, and it wasn’t such a smooth/straightforward process like how you planned the animation here, so this was really helpful in showing how to plan the timing, determine what needs to go on which frame, etc., along with explaining the types of motion. Thank you for such a great video! 🙏

    man literally starts his video with a trailer for a website that uses pintrest and artstation to train their ai. Pintrest especially is known for people posting large amounts of uncredited art work, so its impossible for that art to be referenced with any consent. For those curious: CF Spark uses LAION-5B data set for their AI, which heavily just scrapes easily accessible publicly available (note: not necessarily licensed or free use) images for their data set.

    I know AI art makes it really scary for illustrators, but AI art cannot create something original the same way a human can. Where humans use references and create something entirely new, AI photoshops a bunch of images together to make something that resembles a new drawing. This difference is important, it means that, if a client needs something specific, the computer won't be able to replicate what the client is looking for completely. It is about intent, the intent of shape language, color palette, stylization, texturing, and shading, all of which are unique to each artist. I hope this has helped reassure anyone who is afraid of losing their jobs or doesn't even want to try as an artist. AI is a tool, just like how a pencil is a tool, or photoshop is a tool.

    • @StupidBirdChannel
      @StupidBirdChannel ปีที่แล้ว +12

      Kinda true , on the other hand, NO, Ai art don't just photoshops a bunch of image together.
      That's a common misunderstanding on how the AI works. Basicly the AI is just trained to denoise pics. When you give him a prompt, he basicly tries to understand how he usually have to denoise a noise picture that have the same kind of content than the ones you ask for. For that, yeah , he use a library (that sometimes uses licensed work wich sucks) but this library is actually just used to makes the AI understand what kind of goal is set when it will be time to denoise.
      I know that can be some see as some nitpicking, but I think it's important to tell because YEAH, Ai can create new stuff.
      On the other hand, this is just a tool , and if you really need a perfect result that you will have full control on , for now , you can't go without an artist, and you were right about that one^^

    not sure if anyone pointed this out yet but at 1:49 (and subsequently the video) you have exchanged the motion for ease in and ease out. When the images grow closer over time that motion is considered ease **in** and when the images space out over time that is easing **out** . Great video though!

    • @squigglyverm
      @squigglyverm ปีที่แล้ว

      the concepts are clear and the application was on point, but the terms are just wrong :/ considering the reach you have with your platform I would urge you to please cross check terms before uploading the video

    • @NobleFrugal
      @NobleFrugal  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello, Thanks for your feedback. The reason the terms are switched is because I first learned animation on the digital platform. Traditional animators refer to starting slow as an "ease out" and ending slow as an "ease in". Despite how you refer to them though, the important thing is to identify whether an object is moving constantly or accelerating: speeding up or slowing down. My upcoming video will go deeper into that. Happy animating!

    • @squigglyverm
      @squigglyverm ปีที่แล้ว

      @@NobleFrugal thanks for taking your time to respond! It's interesting that you find your digital learning experience this way. If you don't mind, what sources did you learn from? I have a degree in animation (albeit traditional but I learned a lot from online sources also), and have worked in the industry for a while; from this standpoint it's important to know the right terminology for effective communication. All props to you for making easy to digest content and making these animation breakdowns! But the right terminology (for folks looking to work in the industry) is still a must. Have a great day! :)

    • @NobleFrugal
      @NobleFrugal  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello. Thank you as well. I agree with that. I'd have to say that it mainly comes from my experience with Blender 3D and the video editing programs I've used over the years. When editing your animation's curve, (in Blender, or Davinci Resolve, etc) the ease in ease out names are flipped (ease in slows the start, and ease out slows the end). For this reason, I may not continue using these terms at all since, depending on your perspective, they are interchangeable. However, you make a good point regarding industry work. I hadn't thought of that. Okay thanks, you have a good day too.
