Thank You So Much.😢😢😢😢😢 I'm having surgery today. I pray the Heavenly Father to be present in my Surgery and my sister who is my Angel. Thank You for your kindness, and sharing your experience with us, feel better and God Blessed You. ❤❤. Thank You So Much.
Thank you so much for this. I have so much anxiety leading up to it, my surgery is 9/11/23 and I've been researching. Most of what I hear is negative so I love finding the upbeat and positive sides. ❤🙏
It's very worrying isn't it! I find out when for mine on 19.10.23. Just looking forward to using my arm and hand, having feeling back, and this "nerve root" being released! It's GOT to be better than what I've got now! Good luck Heather. X
I had C3-C7 (four level) ACDF 7 weeks ago. Every person's recovery is different. I was expecting a much harder recovery based on all of the videos out there like this one, but I was walking (in the hospital corridor) the afternoon of surgery, and was walking miles per day within a few days after surgery. The surgeon I used insists on a hard cervical collar for the first 6 weeks. This week I met with him and both the collar and all restrictons from activity were removed. My point: not every ACDF surgery recovery is as difficult as many of the videos on youtube would have you think.
I'll have my 4 level ACDF in January, I've had 2 single levels done before & the recovery was easy, I just can't imagine this 4 level being as easy, we'll see 🤞🤞🙏
@@michelelisa1420 I've lost about 20%, but it does not hinder me. The only time I notice it is when needing to look behind me when driving - changing lanes or backing out of a parking spot. I'm very active now, playing pickleball daily (usually 1.5 - 2.5 hours) and also take a yoga class once or twice a week. I was never not able to brush my teeth or tie my shoes, even right after surgery I was able to do that. I will post a video soon comparing before/after range of motion. I took video of my range of motion the day prior to surgery.

I am 3 weeks in recovery process of ACDF. Was in hospital for a week, had C3 THRU C7 done. My recovery is going well, in a medium soft collar, but still having swallowing problems, muscle spasms of my neck and is excruciating, especially in my shoulders. My talking, voice box, is coming back but right now it is sort of straining for me to talk. Otherwise I am taking my time about this bz i had a bulging disc as well. Right now, my dr advised me to not do too much, definitely no lifting, no exercise yet, walk around your house. Keep the area clean, still have stitches in both places(the throat)! @firas10100 It went great. I ended up having it on December 6th, 2023. Healed up really well. Was able to speak as soon as I woke up, eating solid foods by that night. Best of all, no nerve pain! Surgery pain was rough for awhile (though nowhere near as bad as the nerve pain), but mostly it was just getting used to wearing my hard collar for 3 months. thank you for sharing, i’ve put my op off for 10 years. i now have a 9 month old and 2.5 year old and it’s time to fix this. i’m scared my kids who need a dad will lose me
If it's absolutely necessary then you can go with it after consultation. The first few months will be challenging depending on how quickly you recover but it's worth it to enjoy more time with your kids. I have a 4 year old and now I can give him more time. I am still recovering though.
Having same surgery C5-C7 then next surgery will be C2-C3 following year. Nervous about going to sleep and worried about something going wrong. Good luck hope all goes Well. Rick
Wish you all the best and don't worry too much everything will be fine. Just be patience it takes little time and mindset to recover here is my update th-cam.com/video/NVS1M3AWcJU/w-d-xo.html
I had C5-6/6-7 ACDF done a few weeks ago. Immediate relief from nerve pain. Only issue is occasional numbness and tingling. I expected much worse post-op pain than I ended up with. 3 weeks later almost zero pain.
Hi Darish. How have you recovered since your cervical surgery now, please? I'm 11 months postop now, I haven't bounced back as well as I had hoped. I miss my job terribly, but the shooting and fire pains, pins and needles, complete numbness, it's just unmanageable. I try to exercise, as I'm terrified of the "use it or lose it" consequences.. but it just hurts more. I walk as much as I can in minimum reasonable weather. Do you have much pain anymore? If so, how are you managing it? I use TENS machine, physio stretch and medication, but I'd really like to just return to my exercise that I used to do each morning. Are you doing that now?
I just had my acdf and posterior fusion 5 weeks ago and I just got my collar off and started very slow motion therapy but I am extremely stiff but that's understandable but it's getting better and just takes time but my nerves are still inflamed and may take a long time to heal
wishing you a quick recovery and don't leave exercise it's really going to help with mobility. I will be making new video soon fo share my progress like in two or three weeks
How are you now? 3 months after surgery. I had same surgery c4_c7, 3 weeks ago. Have you still got pain or any other problems? I feel as if this is going to last forever. Please give me some good news. Hope you are doing well
Ill be having this done, same levels, in mid Oct. My issues are mostly loss of strength in legs, arms, wrists, & grip. Plus the pain in my neck, & shoulders & between shoulder blades. Tingling shooting down legs & in feet. I guess its all connected. I just want it overwith.
Just had my c5-c6 done this past Wednesday, 3 days post now and besides a having a little bit of a sore throat still when swallowing I feel like a million bucks. My right arm felt like it was constantly asleep and had gotten weaker. Not a single tingle since and I'm walking 5+ miles each day. I cant sit still I have ADHD 😂

glad I saw your video.. I will be having the same surgery coming May 27...
Get well sir🙏🏾
Get well man.
thank you for sharing, i’ve put my op off for 10 years. i now have a 9 month old and 2.5 year old and it’s time to fix this. i’m scared my kids who need a dad will lose me
If it's absolutely necessary then you can go with it after consultation. The first few months will be challenging depending on how quickly you recover but it's worth it to enjoy more time with your kids. I have a 4 year old and now I can give him more time. I am still recovering though.
@@Jobskillshare thank you so much for sharing, i’m glad you’re alive and doing well!
I thank God I found your video. It’s eased my mind a lot but still freaked out lol. But I am definitely ready for all this pain to stop

Wish you all the best and don't worry too much everything will be fine. Just be patience it takes little time and mindset to recover here is my update th-cam.com/video/NVS1M3AWcJU/w-d-xo.html
How did it go?
Having this done in a week, kinda terrified but ive made it through brain surgery so hopefully it goes well.
I had C5-6/6-7 ACDF done a few weeks ago. Immediate relief from nerve pain. Only issue is occasional numbness and tingling. I expected much worse post-op pain than I ended up with. 3 weeks later almost zero pain.
@@blowfly5936 56, get a 2nd opinion if you are not sure.
I was worried at day 7 that the fingers wouldn't stop tingling numb.
Wishing you a speedy and healthy recovery. God bless!
I had neck surgery 11 yes ago. Fusions just like you. My doctor builded a cage around mine. Did your do that to your neck?
Come back strong sir....
I was out for 8 months when originally recover time was two months.
Im on december 20th and this comforts me. Ty
Danish, get well soon
you take care, I pray for you
How are you now? 3 months after surgery. I had same surgery c4_c7, 3 weeks ago. Have you still got pain or any other problems? I feel as if this is going to last forever. Please give me some good news. Hope you are doing well
Here is update video th-cam.com/video/NVS1M3AWcJU/w-d-xo.html
Get well soon Danis
Get well soon bro.
Speedy recovery!
How are you doing a year later now? Having exact same done august 5th
I didn’t experience barely any of the negative things you incurred. Attests to how absolutely different everyone is.
Get well soon
Just had my c5-c6 done this past Wednesday, 3 days post now and besides a having a little bit of a sore throat still when swallowing I feel like a million bucks. My right arm felt like it was constantly asleep and had gotten weaker. Not a single tingle since and I'm walking 5+ miles each day. I cant sit still I have ADHD 😂
