    Two weeks into this brace and after trying everything at night with no luck , I found your video. Thank you! I finally slept longer than 2 hours at a time. Such a simple, concise explanation of what to use and how to use it. Every doctor should include a link to this video when giving someone this neck brace.

      3 weeks after my accident and 1 week at home and a good night's sleep is hard to find suffering a sore back by morning.
      By trial and error I nearly got to the flat pillow solution but the towel roll was lacking. Thanks for your post and help.

    Awesome video....explanation & demonstration was great.
    April 2024 acdf C3-C6 and I personally use travel neck travel pillow ....( Some have memory foam or just fiber filled ...so use which feels best for you) ... I also have baby nursing pillow fiber filled that I use on my shoulders sitting up or laying down as a flat pillow that can hook around shoulder and not push too much out of liniment.
    I also have had multiple spinal fusions and full body pregnancy pillows have done wonders for me through the years to get a few hrs of comfy sleep. Hope these 💡 ideas 💡 may help others.

    It's so strange how this video could have helped me while I was throwing pillows and blankets all over my bed trying to figure out how in the heck I was going to sleep for the last year! I got a break from the neck brace because I was healing nicely, unfortunately I now have the head falling forward drooping and it's becoming painful to hold my head up so I am back in the brace so this video truly helped me for options of different ways to sleep because the only one I had was the nestled in with the pillows I didn't have any side or Lane flat ones! Thank you so much for the time and carry you took to make this video for people like us! Love the video very helpful

And developed a hematoma so had 3rd surgery posterior then just sept 5 had c5-c7 hardware removal then c3c4c. C4c5 ACDF and and replaced all hardware and screws from C3-c7. The recliner is my go to but I can manage a few hours here and there in bed But I will say last couple of days I’ve been using the bed. I had Fusion surgery (anterior) between C5-6 a week ago. I developed anxiety pretty quick regarding sleeping. Very weird, never had anxiety before. The doc prescribed some help for that, but still getting comfortable has been very hard. My biggest issue is then I have the brace on properly, then lay down in any position, it becomes very uncomfortable. I have to loosen the brace allot. Then, naturally, it doesn't fit well, and has it's own issues. What I'm starting to wonder if people with smaller frames have an easier time with it fitting better for sleep. I think I have one more week until I start getting off the brace as I'm healing very quickly, but still. This is horrible. I am normally a side sleeper, so I'll try some of these techniques during nap time today. (nap time? that's a first for me too) Thanks for the info. God bless Valium.

    What about sleeping in a cervical neck brace that has thoracic support? I have surgery in 5 days to remove a nerve sheath tumor in spine, between C7 and T1. They will remove it and do a spinal fusion 2 up/2 down and add hardware. I've tried finding a comfortable spot and it's impossible.

    • @EquipMeOT
      @EquipMeOT  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The extra extension piece definitely adds a challenge for sleep positioning. Have you considered renting a hospital bed with a low air loss mattress for the recovery? That was a common setup I would use for spinal injuries or surgeries requiring longer recoveries and full-time brace wearing. Many basic spinal surgeries will clear someone to remove some portion of their brace at night, but it sounds like that is not the case for you.

      @@EquipMeOT Thank you so much for replying. We actually have it to where the bar on back comes off at night. This is a 3 in 1 brace that can be changed as my healing moves forward. I have to where this all the time, except in shower. We got it figured out the 2nd night after surgery.
