6:23. Richard shows his affection for Lorelei in different ways. He might not be the most "loving" but you can tell he does love her especially here when he defends her. I wonder if Lorelei realized it here. That was a good scene! Also why does Christopher's father look like the headmaster?!

Funniest line in the Pilot episode was when Sookie suggests hitting up her parents for the Chilton tuition, and Lorelai responds:
"There are several chapters in a Stephen King novel that I would reenact before taking that course of action."
The argument over Boobs had me laughin’ so hard after I saw for the very first t8me the other day earlier this wk!!!!!!!
An early sign though also of Lorelai's immaturity, dark foreshadow of Rory's growing up screwed up.

Love the scenes between Lorelai and her mother, Emily. I used to watch this show because I thought Emily was the best character on this show. Thanks for posting this. I hate to say it but the boob scene was the funniest.

here's another funny moment (for me) but i can't find the episode. it is when lorelai tangled up or something like that with a phone like for 10 seconds, i think there were a lot of stuff around her, i don't remember too well, anyone knows what episode is it?
There’s an episode in the first season where she’s making Rory’s dress for the dance & she gets tangled up and falls down while she’s looking for the phone as it’s ringing. Maybe that’s it?

Watching this show as an adult I realize Rory and Lorelai had the worst codependent relationship. Yeah I guess its cute that a young mom and her 16 daughter are close friends, but I have to think some of the incidents in the show just wasn't healthy and had long term implications.
Yeah, well, look at how Rory turned out.

I used to watch this, till I realized the 2 main characters were disrespectful to people, as though that was funny.
When I just don't like a tv show, and can't figure out why, it usually comes down to something as important as what your comment pointed out. I'm glad you made me realize that it wasn't that ridiculous back and forth style of banter in this show;it actually is a mean-spirited show. I really am disgusted that this show was so popular.

The witty banter was for me the best part. Another similar show was Two and a Half Men. Funny, but constantly belittling each other. Like how Charlie always had something bad to say about his mother.

The story is about a single mother that got pregnant at sixteen. The single mother wants to be opposite to her strick mother. I see it as comedy and entertainment not as a bible.
