Even if Luke is not Rory father he is been like a Father figure since she was kid. He been there when she was sick, at her birthdays partys and when she graturated high school. He is overprotected over her and wants her be happy.
Dean doesn't look like Christopher. Or even reminds one if him. Should not have written that. They were trying to introduce his character into the future episodes. She didn't even talk to the guy. Loralie does tend to overreact. That's why she needs Luke. Luke does the same thing. They have balance.

One of my favorite shows especially seeing Luke and Lorelei together, and Rory and Dean I like seeing together as well but I say Rory messed up that relationship.
