Most people have a shortage in regard to their attention span but we’ll grow to realise its importance for our personal development, in due time. Hopefully this content stands the test of time🙏🏿
One of the best interviews I've seen. TJ drops gem after gem and I can tell he is super knowledgeable and he speaks from experience. This interview needs to put out to the masses.
This is by far one of the best interviews ever. The reason not more views than this is because people continue to judge a book by its cover. Its their loss.
Wow this interview was life changing. The stuff he said about London was soo spot on. Unfortunately the London market is broken and investors own the game which makes the market using his BRRR even more expensive. He dropped sooo many gems 💎 I’m having to get my notepad to write them all.
I throughly enjoyed this podcast. Sound knowledge and just a realist. I have forward this podcast to over twenty people. This guy, TJ is savvy. I do hope that he will be back with part two. And I can’t wait to read his book.
So much to say... firstly, great interview, TJ is absolutely right we should be doing the work to understand why we do what we do. Therapy has revealed habits I've had that do not serve me. Secondly, the employer housing scheme is a brilliant idea and one I don't think is impossible. I forget the company but an entrepreneur in USA I believe called Dan Price sacrifices his salary to pay his employee a minimum of $70k which has led to improved productivity and loyalty so I believe it's only a matter of time before we see a philanthropic employer take the plunge. Lastly, I'm feeling convicted to increase my cash flow and property is how I want to do it 😤 Bring back TJ for part 2!
I’ve been watching your channel for a while and I honestly have to say thank you so much for this content. As a 22 year old I feel like I have learnt a lot. I believe your channel will go far. I pray a lot of young people apply what they learn from each video ☺️👏🏾
Appreciate you following the channel for awhile and glad that it's helped you! You've started to soak up this knowledge at the right time so I've no doubt you'll go far!
Don’t usually watch this but very informative! I watched it in three parts because it’s quite long for my average yt vid attention span 😂 one of the only vids I’ve been excited to come back and continue 👍
TJ, you've spoken real gem on here, especially regarding the mayor proposal. I've been saying Sadiq Khan doesn't care about us yet, blacks and ethnic minority love him off. It's shocking. Loved this entire session
@ savvywallet Interesting to hear TJ say 'builders are the hardest part' in growing his portfolio. I would love to hear the counter arguments from a builders perspective. You hear horror stories about bad builders all the time - sometimes without context. I'm not a builder, so im not trying to defend their interest, but would love to get more of an insight, from a builders point of view, why there is often tension between builder and developer. Any builders reading this, be great if you could point out, what are the common problems.
BRRR is the best method for sure. BUT the key is the builders…that’s the hard part and also sourcing CHEAP high quality furnishings. Loads of tax computations required too. You need a team realistically for BRRR to work I.e a company
This interview was very inspirational and motivational. TJ imparted a lot of life lessons from his experiences in property and I found it very interesting on TJ's take on the psychological aspect of how we've been raised as children to adults on how we think about money and our relationship with money. This indeed was a fantastic and thought provoking interview and look forward to part 2 and TJ's upcoming book. This type of financial education should be taught in all our schools. Nuff respect to the Interviewer and long may you continue to put out this type of content.
Thanks for watching it twice! Always appreciate your support of the podcast :D Yeah so on TJ's instagram page he has a link to a waitlist for his book, can register there
@@TjAtkinson thanks. I think a lot of younger people are being sold the R2R no need to own assets and HMO million pound a month etc dream when actually some people can and probably should be doing vanilla boring BTL. All options on the table and let people decide what’s best for their situation. Nevertheless, it’s good to see people like you in this space. I’m not the only black guy at PIN meeting anymore. lol
When the government introduces a rent freeze they should also implement an interest rate freeze, because rents usually increase when interest rates increase. 🙄
As an underwriter it's silly when people pray for a crash as lenders have now tightened up affordability checks and stress test mortgages to the point where people shpuld be able to afford their payments if interests rose another 5%+. Also, if a property that you couldnt afford drops by 20% the people with deeper pockets will just scoop them up and outbid you every time. The only solution is to earn more money and save a larger deposit. The game is the game...
That isn’t the only way. Your an underwriter who deals with paye/ contractors. You know who you don’t deal with? Corporations. Im not talking about a director buying a home with a salary and dividends. Im saying creating a corporation to buy a property. Your corp rents the property out to a tenant (you), and writes off commercial loans and taxes through depreciation and negative equity. Only bad side is you don’t own the property until you liquidate.
What does doing well mean? Are the other 6 boys, happy with their lives? I consider the guest's mum as incredibly successful. For his parents to give him the garage to start his business is a leg up, she didn't have. She was also incredibly brave to start over again numerous times. Perhaps, the other 6 are laying the foundation for their children (who may become millionaires in their own life time).
Great podcast. Being from uk I'd never buy a property here again. I've bought 3 properties in cape town which I Airbnb. Plan to move there by 2026. This country is finished and getting no better.

This should be getting more views, yet it remains under the radar. It provides more hope to the younger generation.
Thank you! Hopefully it inspires more people 🎉

Part 2 please!! so informative - going to have a conversation with my solicitor about the possibility of BRRR
Best to find a broker or a coach. Your solicitor will only just work on your instruction 🎉

Agreed these conversations are important! Appreciate you tuning in!
U again
Top interview, great information, good explanations….. 💎
Thank you for tuning into the episode! Glad that you liked the information that we discussed, appreciate it!
All property strategies work. I’m 36 and my 9 buy to let’s allow me to live a good life. It’s a sweeping statement to say buy to let doesn’t work.
Agreed all strategies work but some are significantly more powerful for certain age groups. And also well done on your success 🙌🙌🙌

TJ talks nothing but facts - great podcast
This was a great episode and took alot of gems taken away. Thank you
Thank you Anne ❤
Part 2 please!!
I’m just trying to make it out the trenches. Great podcast and very informative
When the government introduces a rent freeze they should also implement an interest rate freeze, because rents usually increase when interest rates increase. 🙄
This is why I disagree with rent freezes. It’s all swings and roundabouts.
Great episode - got me thinking re therapy ans encouraged me to look into it this week.
Thanks again

Am glad his doing well, but right now we need more social housing.
Agreed! We should be petitioning our government and holding accountable to make sure they build more properties
