I just picked mine up last Saturday, Model Y RWD from Shanghai as well and I’m honestly obsessed with it! A little nervous for winter due to the range loss but 🤞🏾
Congratulations! You will do just great even in the winter as long as you pre heat the battery before you head out in the morning to keep the battery at an optimal temp. If you have it plugged in charging anyways at night you can set it up in the settings to preheat
Is this the model that became available in the US this week? I got an email last night and I had no idea. Doing some due diligence before I decide in early December. Have about 11k, a dad that agreed to cosign, and graduation gifts, plus I have two people I could possibly ask for a referral. Deals are hot and glad I'll be ordering at the end of the quarter!
Hello, I've just made a purchase using your referral link. Thanks man! 🙂
Congratulations!
@@teslasincanada Thank you!
Have you taken delivery yet? Hope you are enjoying the car!
Hi, have you done PPF or ceramic coating? are you considering it? If so, would you have anywhere to recommend or refer? Looking forward to pick up my Model Y just like yours over the weekend.
I did not get ppf or ceramic coating on either of my vehicles and have not regretted that decision (yet). Wraptors or Limitless Wraps in the GTA are both good for that stuff though.
Great content! On the trip, were you able to get more than the EPA range of 364km? Are you able go above this number at all? Teslas seems to be very accurated on those numbers, I am just wondering how close to the EPA range the RWD is. I drive a Kona EV and the EPA says 415km but I average over 480km summer time in Ontario. Wondering if the MYRWD would do similar. Also, what speeds do you get on Superchargers (Top and avarage), thank you
Hey Felipe,
Will make more detailed videos on this later but on that trip I would have gotten over 400kms if I drove it down to 0% in one charge. Supercharging I have only done once at the Charger in Orangeville and it was charging at 1400km’s plus per hour! Incredible speeds.
Great! Thank you for sharing. Will wait for the video, cheers@@teslasincanada
Thanks for watching and also the compliment in your first comment :) glanced over that previously lol
Thanks for sharing your video! I live in Toronto and I would like to know how much it would cost until full charge at a tesla supercharger.
I have not charged from almost 0% up to 100% but it would likely be around $30+ dollars.
I don't like when cars jolt or bounce just before halting. I have heard the Model 3 is exceptionally good at being smooth when stopping. I was wondering is the Model Y slightly jerkier or the same, thanks
All Tesla’s are super smooth at this. Model Y and 3 I don’t notice a difference with it. They are the same, both very smooth
also, how good is built quality compared to your old MOdel 3? I have read a lot about built quality and have concerns.
Build quality is much better on the Model Y out of China
Thinking of getting standard range I’m in Orangeville what’s the range average winter you getting I would be plugging in at home but nice having super charger in town thanks
I have not done an accurate enough analysis just yet on my range in these colder temps yet. But I would likely say I am around 300-325kms of range in my own use of pre conditioning while not plugged in and sitting with the heat blasting and playing games 20-30 minutes a day with the kids.
Have a model y long range since December. Awesome awesome awesome. I have a question for you - on your road trip, did you carry a spare wheel? We’re planning a trip from Saskatchewan to Texas in the summer and I’m nervous about travelling without a spare. Modern Spare makes one but darned expensive.
No spare for me:) I leave from Ontario to South Florida in a couple weeks and am filming/documenting the entire journey so you can stick around to see how that goes if you like!
I am planning to buy Model Y but I am stuck whether to buy RWD or AWD. My only worry is that whether I will have issuer with RWD on winter times? Have you had any issues with your Model 3 RWD at winter (snow) times?
With winter tire the car has been great! Which is why we went for the RWD Model Y as well for the second Tesla.
Tesla Model 3 RWD as a Winter Vehicle? Is it any good?
th-cam.com/video/zxxgAfxiWOg/w-d-xo.html
Great video my next Tesla will hopefully be the Model Y what do you think of the spread difference between your model Y and the model 3
Value of the Model Y vs the Model 3 is much better. But I still enjoy my Model 3 driving wise more. Speed of the Y is noticeably slower than the 3 RWD
@@teslasincanada the Y is slower I am surprised I figured it would be faster than the model 3 RWD I just rented the model 3 AWD and now that I have my Tesla back I do notice is slower on the pickup especially at the start
@@CanadaModel3 always tough when you drive a faster one going back lol.
@@teslasincanada so true the extra range was nice as well but I still love my Tesla sent you an email as well 😃
I am really looking forward to seeing what the range is like in the colder months. If the MYRWD can get between 300-350km on a full charge in the winter doing highway speeds then it would be a much better buy then the M3RWD
I will be sure to let you guys know about how it does!
how's the suspension? has it improved?
I have had no issues with the suspension on the Model Y since we have owned it. Rides better than the Model 3 that we also have.
What was range in summers on highway with trips you made?
Highway was good! One trip if I would have ran it to empty I could have got over 400kms out of it. Which is higher than the EPA rating. That was a mix of highway and backroads.
Thank you@@teslasincanada
Thank you so much. I am also new to tesla and I picked up my model y rwd 2 weeks ago but I haven't done a trip yet and I heard always negative comments about the range so I wanted to ask this question.
I come from owning a Kona ev where I often got over 400km so I was stressed I wouldn't get 400km out of my Y
Good real life review. I have an ix3 and potentially going for this model later in the year. Im in the UK and i got a bit fed up with the non tesla charging infrastructure. Thanks
Thanks! A huge reason I went with Tesla when I switched to EV was because of the charing infrastructure. So I admire your bravery to go with a non Tesla originally!
Model Y RWD is definitely great! Around 11,500kms on it now and still loving it.
@@teslasincanada covid changed work behaviours, where most client meetings were done over Teams as opposed to constant motorway driving to see them F2F. If it was the latter, the past 2 years could well have been a very expensive and stressful experience!
@@willielarsson9651 that is true!
How did you find the build quality when you picked it up? Any panel gaps at all?
No panel gaps that I have found on this model Y! My model 3 from the Freemont factory does have some panel gaps/miss alignments
@@teslasincanada amazing! Taking delivery of mine this Tuesday! Very excited :)
How are you liking your vehicle so far?
@@teslasincanada absolutely amazing. Delivery went very smoothly and the car is better than anything I could have imagined. First road trip today was smooth as well. Only gripe is the auto wipers on autopilot which absolutely do not work lol.
@@QasemElagez great to hear! Yes the auto wipers I don’t enjoy lol
For the Algo!
woot woot
If you have a picture of the car with the dent on delivery speak to the advisor... They are very logical and amazing.
That they are! Unfortunately I don't have evidence of it being there before leaving the lot so I won't bother with it :)
Is it double pane windows?
Yes double pane windows. Makes a big difference in reducing road noise. Thanks for watching!
@@teslasincanadaHow about birds eye view parking assistance? Does it come equipped the feature? Would be hard to believe it doesn’t, since there have so many cameras to enable that feature
They have no implemented something similar to this in the new holiday update. I hope to get it soon to make a video on it
I am in the market for Model Y. I am torn between AWD and RWD. Which one should I get from driving dynamics and comfort perspective? range is a non issue.
I would go for the RWD if you’re not worried about range. Both drive very similar although a bit more speed out of the AWD. For some money off: ts.la/david124897
I thought speakers on RWD aren’t as good as AWD
That is true on the ones you order today. I have one of the first ones from the first ship over from China when they launched the RWD so I have the same audio system as the AWD modles
I was here to hear a review, but got a lot of affiliate ads😂
You’re welcome for the review and for providing you with some options for much needed accessories.
