Most interesting! But I'm shocked yours is only RWD. I've seen videos of AWD and the traction control on all 4 wheels is absolutely incredible on snow and ice. Best winter car available.
Teslas are pretty sick
That they are!
kW-HOUR!? You're charging and paying for kilowatt hour! Don't be so sloppy and lazy. Kilowatt and kilowatthour are 2 completely different things, one is power, the other is quantity.
Should we wait 2025 to buy model Y?
Totally up to you. Both cars are good. The Juniper will be excellent. Used M Y will be cheaper. Personal preference.
So, how do you preheat/precondition the battery ? Sorry, if I missed that in the vid.
How to Preheat Your Tesla and Save BATTERY th-cam.com/video/060nT9lKip0/w-d-xo.html
I just picked up our first Tesla, a model Y rear drive, yesterday! Got 190kms on it as we speak :) Coming from a 2019 Skoda Kodiaq diesel 4x4 the first thought was: Did I fuck up? Here in Sweden we can get a nice winter now and then, but we go north for the holidays to go skiing and it allways felt safe in a 4x4 SUV specially going up a steep incline. But it´s comforting to hear you speak about how a rear wheel drive Model Y works on the road when its snow out n shit! Got no garage so it´s going to stay outside. One of the deciding factors to go for a Model Y now is that here i Sweden we got a 0% loan and a one full year of free Tesla supercharging! We now have a "oldschool" 230v outlet but since we got a 250kw Super charging station 7kms from the house, on the way to my wifes work, we are going to try the first year without a Tesla wall charger at home. Any thoughts on just using 230v on about 12amp for preheat and warming it up each morning and not charging, is that doable in the settings and what the car can handle when its cold/really cold? And I actually set my charginglimit to 80% this morning trying out the Supercharger and got that exact same warning so I guess it´s going back up to 100% :) Sry Mate for the wall of text, thanks for the video. Hug the family! Dave

I'm going to wait till December to see if the deals are better. Europe is offerinf 1 year free super charging. Hopefully we will get it also in December
Take off your sunshade in the winter months. You are throwing away free heat.
Was planning on doing that actually :) You should see that it has been removed two videos from now. Back again for next summer!
Tesla's really aren't very good at winter and there's a few reasons. The range is appalling, also you can't use regen because it gets downright dangerous. You have to keep warming it up before-hand and before you know it, it costs more than a gasoline car to use. The build quality is really bad, the door seals literally drop off by themselves from all doors no matter if they're been used or not. The airpump can be considered as a consumable item. With bad luck you'll have to buy one almost every winter because they simply break and it's 3000 euros a pop.
Where is this information coming from? Tesla is the cheapest car to own over a 10 year period as per independent studies. Also you don’t need to preheat but it does allow for better efficiency just like you pre heat your gasoline car to get the oils up to temperature in the winter as well.
If they were so crap, there would not be so many being sold in my hometown of Montreal, Qc and off island.

@@teslasincanada from the nordics, these are the recurring issues people have and those added to the ridiculous purchase price really stop me from buying one. Tesla as a manufacturer is also notorious for evading any responsibilities, so if you have your fifth airpump breaking after the warranty runs out you're on your own, unless you go to court.

Awesome!!
Been thinking I needed to fork out for AWD due to living in a cold climate. Bring on the RWD.

Level 1 or 2 charging at home?
Level 2. Tesla Wall Charger
@@teslasincanada wish I had a less expensive way to do that. Townhome with no garage.
@@tonyfrese6903 do you have parking close to your unit? Would it be possible/allowed by the Condo Corp/HOA to install a charger on the exterior of your unit and be able to reach to your vehicle?
I am a real estate agent as well so am always trouble shooting all sorts of scenarios lol.
@@teslasincanada so kind of rare situation. It’s a townhome and I have a driveway and 110v outlet on front of house. No hoa. Electric box is in attached shed in back of house. The expense comes from having to run wire through my shed, through the attic, and out front of the house.
Every times when I watching your videos, I’m very impressive Rwd is fine for winter in CA 😂. Awd much more expensive but Rwd is much cheaper. I would love to buy a Rwd but.. winter 🥲🥲🥲
Lots more RWD winter content coming soon! Don’t be afraid :)
@ awesome 👍👍. I saw your old video “ model 3 got stuck on the snow. But it didn’t look that much deep..? 😅 just wondering model Y is much better?
@@adean1742 you def need studded types on a rwd where i live in norway but then its good for the winter
The Model Y will give more ground clearance that is for sure. Also avoid going in the hard packed snow like I did in that video: th-cam.com/video/SYVKxCSUd7I/w-d-xo.htmlsi=XIM5bZoQa9uX3vd3
Thanks for watching from Norway! I have to visit one day. Here in Southern Ontario we are not allowed to run studded tires on the public roadways unfortunately.
Dumb move from Canadian government.
Tesla RWD is the absolute worst in snow even with good winter tires. AWD is highly recommended.
Have you driven a RWD version throughout a winter? I have for two winters in a row and I have zero regrets
@teslasincanada yep, 4 winters in a sr+. Quebec city street parking,
@@keitha.1888awesome! I would likely get frustrated getting plowed in with just RWD. If I was in your situation I would likely be switching to AWD lol😂
@teslasincanada thats exactly what happened. I can tell you how many times I got stuck in the snow. Don't get me wrong, I loved my sr+. It took me to Florida and Vancouver. I said to myself, not another winter. Then elon brought back the FSD transfer and voilà. Proud owner of the highland AWD. Highland is the absolute best car in the world. My opinion of course. I really enjoy watching your videos BTW.
@ Totally makes sense! The Highland 3 is an awesome car! Congratulations on it and glad you enjoy them! Thanks for watching :)
Why you comparing x and y ?
I have a Y so I was making comparisons based on what I currently drive. Thanks for watching!
I will purchase at the dealership, but a friend of mine who a car sales person will purchase it for me then sell it to me.
Interesting idea
Question: In your case Estimate on montley payment from Tesla web how much are diferent at the end ? Let say 700$/mount estimate payment base from Tesla page how much is really at the end is it still 700$ or 800$ additional hides cost?
I just bought a model y in September. It was within $20 of the guesstimated payment.
Good question. Just add sales taxes and that is typically it.
The background music does not fit the video. At all. It is very distracting.

Hi! I am still somewhat disputed. I drive Uber alot and i have got elantra. I get 14-15 kms per litre in city. I get 300-305kms for $40 bucks. I am worried if I get a tesla the range being low might turns out to be expensive for me. Since I live in a rented house, cant really use Home charging. Could you please shed some light?
being able to charge at home is essential. If You have to rely on a public charger, You will waste time and money, unless You have the option of use some supermarket charger for free and charge up while shopping. But is You live in a rental home, there is nothing stopping You from charging overnight, all You need is an extension cord. And even setting up a home charger should not be a big deal, just speak with Your landlord, they might be interested in the idea.
If you can utilize a mobile charger at home or have the ability to add an additional outlet with the landlords permission that would be ideal. I would not recommend using it for Uber daily if you have to pay to use superchargers. Although you can run the math to see if it still makes sense for you.
@@teslasincanada looks like I am gonna hold for now. I did the calculations, its not gonna work out or it will be close atleast. I will watch all your video till then lol. Thanks for the response

That only tells you that it's Lithium Ion. Mine doesn't say anything about LFP or NMC cathode style.
@@genelane2243 if it's recommended to charge to 80%, it's not LFP
I have to admit. That accident the other day on the Gardiner gave me real pause in considering a Tesla. Not way out or having to scramble to find the door release or how fast that can catch fire really has me thinking about if this is the way I want to go. Do you think about that and what plan do you have if Forbid that situation should happen to you?
I don’t worry much about that aspect. It is one of the safest cars on the road today so I would rather be in a Tesla than another brand of vehicle. However I will be walking my kids through how to use the emergency latches now though. Although I would probably pull them out through the front if heaven forbid a major accident happened.

Was your TMY a replacement for your F150 8:26 or did you get another vehicle to handle the utilitarian needs of your truck? I find it hard to see your a family SUV compensates for not having a full size pickup.
It definitely does not replace the need for a pickup. However I have been able to pickup and move a lot of things with this vehicle. I don’t currently own a pickup truck as I have access to two others as I need them for projects I am doing around the house. Eventually I will get a pickup truck again.

Where did you get snow ? In wpg is 10c Tesla is not onest with their range numbers what they say on paper its 70% true the most acurate range on car is Audi etron 97% true of what they say you will get . So if they say 450km range 70% you will get of that in Winnipeg maybe 50% on -40
Yes the range on Audi is pretty accurate. Tesla does have some wiggle room that is for sure.
Is it good? hm Lets do math without full self driving on 4 years with curent interest rate how much you will pay on interes alone ? That part we dont see on Tesla math untill we go further with paperwork and down payment. I want to see that last number how much will I pay in total for that car at the end with interest 5.46% if car is 60k and after 4 years that car cost you 100k wtf lol .Maybe you can help us with your math you purchased what do you think ?

Glad you think so!

You should be good! Have a friend that has driven a Tesla for 4 years that lived in Winnipeg and managed out in the cold there as well :) He is now in Alberta as well actually. You will enjoy it! Thanks for watching
plenty of Tesla on Alberta streets nowadays even in the winter. I guess they are good enough for daily commute in alberta winter. This winter is my first model y winter as well, so we will see.
Heated garage are not freinds of Tesla at all in canadian winters. Get a good Anti-Rust treatment if you do.
even in ab where rust really isn’t an issue I am originally from southern Ontario and there I would totally agree with you but the lack of salt really does mean almost no rust
I am curious if Tesla or EV owners complain about the Federal Carbon tax?

great ending to the video. Put a smile on my face.
glad it made you smile! Thanks for watching!
That is stupid, pay 11 000 fsd to get 0% interest, totally not worth it for me
Yeah it is not worth it for everyone! For those that already planned on getting FSD or where on the fence it may make sense for them.
So there’s no referral discount on model 3 😔
Unfortunately not anymore. They are always changing and updating their referral program.
They haven’t paid off ours for 2 months. How much they paid you to do this video?
Really? I was NOT asked or paid anything by them to make a video. I was genuinely curious on the process and figured I would document my process
I purchased my model 3 four days before this… any chance i can be eligible for this? Who would i need to discuss this with to find out?
You could ask your Tesla rep but I am doubtful there will be any opportunity to take advantage of today’s offers unfortunately.
There's no such thing as Full Self Driving yet, even Elon realized this and renamed it "Supervised" after misleading owners for years.
You are right it is Supervised. Now at least you don't need to have any contact with the wheel. As long as you are looking straight ahead it does everything for you with no nagging.
@teslasincanada yes, that's good progress. However, truly autonomous driving may take longer than Elon and many others expect given regulatory approval hurdles.
@@jamespaul2587 agreed that it will take a while for the regulatory approvals. I will try to make that clearer in future videos that actual fsd is a while off likely still. Appreciate the comments!
Unfortunately the Long Range AWD model Y doesn't qualify for izev rebate as of Oct 1st as it currently comes from China for the Canadian market. (Big bummer I was ready to pull the trigger finally). Now I will keep holding off until the juniper model
They still have it posted on the iZEV site?
They have the 2024 model Y long range AWD "import" as qualifying end Date OCT 1 2024. I just checked. You have to make sure it the right year and model and look to see the start and end date of when it qualifies. I will send them an email as well to confirm. If this is the case I will definitely be waiting until the Juniper release
@@TheSimplecanadian good call! Juniper should be quite good! Looking forward to creating more concrete videos on that vehicle and what it has to offer.
