Yes, it is an actual truck, much like my Ford F150 Lightning. Both can haul big cargo, pull big trailers, go off-road, and carry five people in comfort.

First winter with my Y. I mostly do short (10 minute) commutes. The other day I wanted to try preconditioning my Model Y, so I hit the defrost button in the app 20 minutes before leaving. I lost about 18% battery whereas my 10 minute commute with a cold battery would have only cost me about 3%. Preconditioning may be a better idea for longer trips (or at least if your car is plugged in). Also, as a fellow Canadian, I dont know how tapping the door unlatch icon on the app would help get the door open. Where I live, if we get freezing rain, and the door handles are frozen over, then the doors will be too :)

Most P/U trucks I see daily are driven like MINI vans or passenger cars. So, for those use cases, the CT is probably a better vehicle. So, you buy the right tool for the job.

I respect your full research and comparing what's best for you and your family. I am not bias as a Tesla owner but I will say having Tesla infrastructure is what made me go Tesla and not want to go anywhere else. I had a Model 3 and now I have a Cybertruck. Just be prepared if you do get a Cybertruck that there will be some people (not all) that will hate you for having one. I just got flipped off this weekend, I think that's my 4th one (with me noticing). I get trucks that rev by me, or give me dirty looks, tint your windows, and ignore them if you go to the Cybertruck.

The whole back falling off was the result of not towing but applying downward pressure force on tow hitch exceeding the maximum weight. If my understanding is correct it is very misleading to mention this as a problem with towing. Basically if you buy some bike holder and put a heavy motorcycle on it you will damage your truck while it will have no problem at all to tow much more heavier load behind instead of on top of the hitch when connected properly.
