Honda faulty ECM? - P1457 EVAP and P1259 VTEC diagnosis.

  • Customer states he took his 2001 Honda Civic to the dealership for a check engine light diagnosis, they tightened the gas cap and told him the car has no other faults. Some days later the check engine light returned.
    A code scan reveals a P1457 Evaporative Emissions Fault code and a P1259 VTEC system fault code. Diagnosis leads to a faulty ECM.

    You can get topology as an addon, it's great to get an overview of how the modules are networked together and which modules isn't communicating on that particular line.. obviously you do not need this feature but it does help.

      That is interesting, I did not know that.
      Yes, topology is handy because it shows you which networks each module is on, but so does the wiring diagram so I’ve just never found it necessary.
      Thank you for sharing that tip, I’ll look into that add-on.
