- Review on the Topdon Phoenix lite 2 diagnostic tool. I've had the tool for just over a week at this point (August 2022), After using it all week and getting to grips with it I've put the review together..
Overall I was very impressed with the machine, really good value for money and look forward to seeing how it performs for future work.

Excellent video, I based my decision on buying this tool from this video. I was looking for a video looking to replace my Volvo V40 D2 injector and found this one. Very happy ! But also dissappointed with Topdon and their misleading advertising!!!!

Thanks, I was mega impressed with it tbf , I’ve only ever really used top end machines , mainly snap on / Bosch kts , did have a Delphi bit of kit for a while and this was really simple to use but has loads of functions on it! Only had it for a couple a weeks now and can’t fault it so far
That seems very impressive. The price puts it in reach of enthusiastic home mechanics. 👍🏻
Yeah defineltly we’re debating stopping paying our snap on subscription now and running this see how we get .. the snap on costs £100 a month just to keep it up to date!
I bought one a few weeks ago and love it. Reached out to sales for a can fd adapter. They sent me a launch adapter, which is fine. If you need can fd for newer gm vehicles, there you go. I could diagnosis anything with this scanner, a breakout box and picoscope.

Just bought the phoenix plus there a game changer good tutorial on how they work puts snap on and autel on the back foot
Yeah I was mega impressed .. after only really using the snap on / Bosch this is well comparable!! It’s got all the same functions for a fraction of the price!
How does the phoenix plus compare the launch x431 pro?

Bought the Topdon Artidiag 600s for DIY use was watching the live DPF values on my Passat cracking bit of kit!
Yeah I’m well impressed with it , been using it everyday now and haven’t had to grab the snap on once .. it’s done everything I’ve needed so far 👍

@@richardstokes755 yeah it’s on the cards . I work in a busy garage and we really need 2 machines , if we are using it to retract calipers etc the machines are in use for a while each time
@@diydaly maybe another Topdon on the way the cheaper units do all the abs bleeds , DPF regen and caliper wind backs might be an option to free up the top unit for major diagnostics.

I bought this unit in Apr 23 only to find it does not have the topology function. I've checked with Topdon and been informed the function was only available for a limited number of units. Or words to that effect bearing in mind the respondent is not a native English speaker. to say the least I am a bit pissed off as all the advertising I'd seen showed it with Topology. Otherwise getting used to it but disappointed. Can't understand why they would do this! Good review otherwise.
Sorry to hear that! I’m aware the newer versions don’t come with it now.. shame as it is a nice feature , all the same functions are available still though .. mines still going strong and I’ve been really impressed with it! It gets some serious hammer in a busy workshop environment and had very and truely proved itself
Thx for this comment I was pulling my hair out trying to find how he got the topology function for the can system. And mine won't do that. I also saw in all the adds that it had it to and i got one that doesn't. That is so frustrating.
Same as mine no topology, I remember on my other launch scanner I didn't have topology and few weeks later it came up with software version upgrade and after that upgrade I have topology, so I believe they will fix this ,cause I really like topology it's cool
I’m in the process of buying one and was checking on the web whether it has topology or not…because on the topdon website it says no… however people on TH-cam reviews they all have it, and in one forum one guy confirmed it was by mistake advertised on topdon that it didn’t have topology because he still got the function on his unit… that was confusing but encouraged me to buy it …. Until I read your comments … so you guys confirm you don’t have the topology option… so I might go with the phoenix plus then…
Does anyone know if this unit can function outside Europe? Do you need to be connected to the Web for it to work?
on the live data, if your actual range is higher or lower then the Standard Range, will your range light up red to let you know your range is abnormal?
Some bi directional scanners will show red for abnormal only in the Live Data section, and some scanners will not
Tbh I’ve never come across that on any scanner I’ve used , the snap on or topdon that I use doesn’t change colour if it goes outside parameters .. not a bad idea though would be nice if it did! Sometimes it’s hard to know what the tolerances should be
@@diydaly there are quite a few higher end scanners that show the actual values of your vehicle on red if those values are abnormal

Thanks mate , yeah It does.. I used it to wind em back on a Renault kadjar the other day .. it’s got a lot on functions on it tbf , done quite a few dpf regens with it so far , never thought it would be as equipped as it is compared to our snap on machine ..

Will this machine test the electronic ignition switches? Specifically, will it say anywhere how many keys are coded to the vehicle and provide information on that?
Ive not used it to check into that info yet.. been using a lot so will have a gander next week for you

Does it have a scope function so you can monitor cranking current to cylinders
It’s got all the real time data , you select any individual readings and set them out in graph mode but it doesn’t have an actual scope function , I believe some over the higher spec models do

if you don't continue the upgrades, you lose bi directional features and this bocomes a 200 dollar scanner.

How do you adjust the speaker volume on this?
Scroll down from the top and it brings a menu up with the volume , brightness , Bluetooth etc
