    Thanks for the excellent review. I recently bought a Goldwing and this helmet is on my short list. Your review helped in my research.

    I got a C3 on closeout at RevZilla too! You can order the C3 Pro top vent at Schuberth dealer, it's the exact same mounting points, also flows more air.

    This is a great review. One of the best reviews on any equipment. Stuck to the point, didn't ramble on. This was very helpful to me as I am in the market for a commuter helmet. Would this be ideal for a 50 minute commute one way?

      +improvisewitme First off, thank you!
      To answer your question, go with a helmet that fits your head WELL more than anything else. Even if it's just a 50 minute commute, if it doesn't fit your head then it will cause pain, and the pain and discomfort will not only make you buy a new helmet, but distract you while riding.
      Measure your head right above the brow and around the back of your head in centimeters, and find a size in each helmet you are interested in. Each helmet manufacturer has slightly different head shapes. Schuberth's, while great helmets, can be an awful choice for someone with a completely different head shape.
      The absolute best thing to do is to go to your local dealer and try on a Schuberth, Arai, and Shoei helmet. These three brands are the top tier helmets on the market, and will generally be the safest. Arai makes a few different helmets for different head shapes as well.
      Do you have a very round head, or is it more of a long oval in shape?

      Agree, fit really is most important. While I love the quality of Shoei, unfortunately for me Shoei's don't fit my head shape at all, so I've given up on them. I'm actually riding with a $150 Scorpion EXO CT220, great quality/price point, and no helmet I have fits my head better, so guess which helmet I reach for.

    Great video and very informative. Did you say this helmet has cavities in the ears to install Bluetooth system speakers?

    • @MotoCampAdventure
      @MotoCampAdventure  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup! I comfortably mounted my Cardo Packtalk speakers inside this helmet and my current helmet (Schuberth E1).

    Any idea how the C3 Pro compares to the Shoei GT Air in terms of wind noise and etc ?
    I'm really stuck here on which one to buy :).
    Also, I've heard the C4 is more noisy than the older C3, really true?

    • @MotoCampAdventure
      @MotoCampAdventure  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I haven't been able to use a GT Air unfortunately, or the C4 for that matter. I'm rocking the E1 at the moment. The C4 head shape changed again, and it doesn't fit my head anymore. I have two friends that use the GT Air and they seem to like them for the most part.

    late for the party..been checking ur review, and I want to buy this in my local shop they still have it for like.. is it worth it for $352 today?

    • @MotoCampAdventure
      @MotoCampAdventure  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      See if you can find the manufacture date and make sure it's not super old at this point. Manufactures recommend replacing a helmet after 5 years from that date, however you can stretch it if it's never been used and exposed to direct sunlight, extreme temperature changes, etc. It's still a great helmet and I was about to film a follow up review on it. I've since put 35k miles inside this helmet and still love it. MAKE SURE IT FITS YOUR HEAD. No helmet will be nice if it doesn't fit. Otherwise, yeah I think that's a reasonable price. The C4 will be out real soon, and the C3 Pro has been out for a while now. You may be able to use those facts to your advantage in getting a better price.

    Black looks cool but hi-vis and white ate more visible. Riders wearing black blend in with the pavement and shadows

    • @MotoCampAdventure
      @MotoCampAdventure  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      This is all true, however I'm on such a large bike that it probably doesn't make a difference. Also, there's tons of reflective bits all over the helmet. Definitely a consideration.

    2 shell sizes at this price point is inexcusable imo, even some of the cheap Korean helmets come in 3 shell sizes. And the use of only 2 shell sizes can have you looking like a bobblehead.

    • @MotoCampAdventure
      @MotoCampAdventure  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      This helmet is the basic C3, and are basically unavailable at the moment in common sizes. C3 Pros are all over the place. Are you saying you can't find any other C3s?

    • @alvisgineika9306
      @alvisgineika9306 8 ปีที่แล้ว

    Pros and cons - what cons? - The C3, C3Pro and Now E1 are the best lid's in the world - full stop.
    I know, i've had a C3 World White for 3 years and it saved my arse when i came off last year. Plus Schuberth honoured my mobility claim for a new lid.

    • @MotoCampAdventure
      @MotoCampAdventure  8 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      +Jury I don't know how much I would say they are the best. To me, the best helmet in the world is the one that fits and protects you the best. For me, the C3 fits really well. For someone else, it might not. That someone else might fit really well into an Arai or Shoei, and for them that is the best helmet in the world. Do I agree that Schuberth has a lot of things right with their helmets? Sure, I'll agree with that, but it comes down to the individual rider and their head shape.

    Helmet Lock for a Schuberth. Take the $800 helmet with you.

    I got my c3 pro for about $400. US from a german pal and no way is the helmet worth more than $650 us here in Canada they want $1100. You want cars to see your head when your sliding at night during a crash so they can swerve, I ride my black bmw like it is invisible totally dangerous to wear dark clothing.

    • @MotoCampAdventure
      @MotoCampAdventure  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's why my black gear is covered in reflective material though. I think that's a little blown out of proportion. My jacket looks like a firefighter's turnout gear with the amount of reflective material on it.
      Those Canada prices are absurd. I also would not pay that much.

    • @441rider
      @441rider 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seen some horrible crashes not having a car for 37 years only a bike license. Reflect is good and if your camping a light helmet is easier to find at night or not forget somewhere for me :o) ride safe it beats peddling!

    Buy shoei or arai and You don't be disappointed. This helmet is overpriced lower quality than arai or shoei.

      I've had a Shoei, sell them and sell Arai's all day at the dealership I work at, and this is just as good if not better than either depending on how you look at it. That's an opinion.
